Mainstreaming Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and the Effects it has on Their Literacy Achievement
I reviewed 14 studies that examined the outcomes of mainstreaming students with ASD and the effects on their literacy achievement. Three studies focused on the challenges and support needed in the classroom for students with ASD to succeed (Singh, 2019; Soto, Pooley, Cohen, & Taylor, 2012; McIntyre, Tomaszewski, Hume, & Odom, 2021). Other authors concentrated on the skills and training required for mainstream teachers to effectively support students with ASD in the general classroom (e.g., Morewood, Humphrey, & Symes, 2011). A third theme in the studies was the specific literacy support that students with ASD may need, depending on their skills and abilities (e.g., Fleury, Whalon, Gilmore, Wang, & Marks, 2021a), Although the authors recognized the importance of inclusion, challenges observed based on the child\u27s needs were also reported (e.g., Mojoko, 2018). Two sets of researchers addressed the positive psychological outcomes for students with ASD in mainstream settings (Myers, Ladner, & Koger, 2011; Holcombe & Plunkett, 2016). Internally Displaced Persons: Challenges and an Examination of Legal Protection Frameworks
Terrorism is not a novel phenomenon, nor are its profound implications for human rights. Over the years, various forms of terrorism have resulted in the loss of innocent lives, the erosion of fundamental freedoms, and the diminishing of human dignity (Von Schorlemer, 2003). As a matter of international law and state responsibility, governments are obligated to safeguard their citizens and all individuals within their jurisdiction from acts of terrorism, including the consequential human rights violations perpetrated by terrorist groups. Internally displaced persons (IDPs) represent one of the most vulnerable populations affected by terrorism and armed conflict. Unlike refugees, IDPs do not cross international borders but remain within their home country, often under conditions that render them highly susceptible to further rights violations. The absence of a singular, binding international legal framework governing the protection of IDPs has necessitated reliance on a combination of international humanitarian law (IHL), human rights law, and domestic legal instruments. This thesis examines the legal challenges surrounding the protection of IDPs in terrorism-affected regions and evaluates the existing frameworks that seek to address their plight. It critically analyzes international legal instruments such as the United Nations Guiding Principles on Internal Displacement, regional treaties like the African Union’s Kampala Convention, and state-specific legal mechanisms that contribute to their protection. Additionally, this discussion highlights the obligations of states under customary international law, the principle of non-refoulement, and the interplay between counterterrorism measures and human rights protections for displaced populations. This thesis, which focuses on Nigeria, will examine the root causes of displacement in the country, including terrorism, ethno-religious conflicts, and natural disasters. It will assess the Nigerian government’s response to internal displacement, particularly regarding the fundamental rights of IDPs and the legal and institutional frameworks established for their protection. Furthermore, it will evaluate the extent to which these governmental efforts have alleviated the suffering of displaced populations and whether they align with international human rights standards. Ultimately, this thesis argues for a more robust. legally binding international framework that harmonizes humanitarian and counterterrorism obligations while ensuring the dignity and rights of IDPs remain a priority. In conclusion, specific recommendations will be made to strengthen Nigeria’s approach to IDP protection, ensuring a legal and institutional response that is both effective and compliant with international human rights standards. Data engineering plays a key role in how businesses function today. Whether it\u27s generating reports or supporting real-time applications, companies depend on data pipelines to move and process information efficiently. However, ensuring that these pipelines remain reliable and resilient is becoming more difficult. As systems grow more complex, even minor issues can cause delays, data mistakes, or failures that are not easily detected through traditional testing methods.
When data pipelines fail, the impact on a business can be serious. It can lead to lost revenue, missed opportunities, and poor decisions caused by missing or incorrect data. These issues are often not noticed until they start affecting day-to-day operations by which time, the damage has already occurred.
This paper shows how Chaos Engineering can be applied to ETL data pipelines to test how they behave during failures. By introducing controlled issues in a test environment, we can see how the pipeline reacts, where it fails, and how well it recovers. These experiments help uncover problems that may not be found during regular testing and offer useful insights for creating more reliable and production-ready data pipelines

A TEXT-BASED ANALYSIS OF OLD ENGLISH VOWELS AND CONSONANTS IN LIGHT OF CONTEMPORARY PHONETIC AND PHONOLOGICAL THEORIES
How many vowels did Old English (OE) have? Did its vowels contrast phonemically in length? Did it have diphthongs? Did its singleton and geminate consonants contrast phonemically in duration? Surprisingly, experts do not seem to agree. We have undertaken to bring some clarity to these issues by interrogating some of the most ancient texts ever written in the English language. When contemporary acoustic phonetic and phonological theories are applied to these ancient texts, they reveal that the orthographers of OE were keenly aware of the phonetic feature [± tense] of OE vowels even though they did not have an accurate label for it. They were also keenly aware of the distributional constraints of its open and closed syllables, and their proclivity to ambisyllabicity. They took full advantage of these insights in reducing English to writing. By scrutinizing four of the most ancient texts written in OE, we have uncovered what early orthographers knew and how they applied their insights to OE spelling, thereby bequeathing to subsequent generations an orthographic system that Chomsky and Halle (1991:49) qualify as “remarkably close to optimal.

In this piece, I discuss how the relationship with my family doctor was detrimental to my diagnosis and how my health, both physical and mental, suffered because of it. Although I discuss my experience of obtaining a diagnosis to what turned out to be an uncommon response to a common virus, I am certain that others will relate to the universality of struggling to gain an accurate diagnosis
Family-educator Partnerships: Models for Holistic Support of Children with Disabilities in The Preschool Environment
This starred paper includes an overview of the history of family involvement in early childhood special education, the legal relevance of family-centered practice, and the factors impacting strong family-educator partnerships in preschool special education settings. Research reviewed shows family-centered practices to be both relational and participatory in nature. Likewise, factors impacting successful partnerships between families and educators are also shown to include both human elements, like teacher attitudes, communication, and cultural considerations, and other factors like limited resources and school climate. The discussion section of the paper includes recommendations for future research and recommendations for practice including ensuring families experience a smooth transition into preschool, preparing teachers to partner successfully with families, and being cognizant of families’ changing needs
