Cartographic Mathematical Data: Scale shown as ratio to German Com Myll (i.e. German common mile), a measure which varied across different times and regions. The conversion to modern miles is undetermined. Approximately 1.7 cm represents 100 German common miles. Notes: Engraved by Pieter Van Den Keere. Leaf may have been separated from the 1676 edition of An epitome of Mr. John Speed\u27s theatre of the empire of Great Britain and of his Prospect of the most famous parts of the world, London : printed for Tho. Basset at the George in Fleet-street, and Ric. Chiswel at the Rose and Crown in St. Paul\u27s Church-yard, 1676.     [Amsterdam?] : [publisher not identified], [between 1630 and 1636?] Physical Description: 1 map : color ; 26 x 19 cm Notes: Hand-colored. Relief shown pictorially. Text in Latin. Identified by cataloger as possibly being the miniature version of the map of Asia by Jodocus Hondius, engraved by Pieter Van Den Keere, as it appeared in Johannes Cloppenburg\u27s edition of Gerhard Mercator\u27s Atlas Minor, engraved in a slightly larger format than the standard Dutch pocket atlases of the time. This version of the map was first published in 1630 and appearing in editions until 1636, then not appearing in print again until 1673. The title of Asia appears in a small box in the upper right corner of the map. Cartographer, engraver, publisher, and date not identified on source and are inferred from comparison to similar maps in the catalogs of antique map dealers
