Rationale: Reduce the graduation requirements of the BSME degree program from a minimum of 132 
credit hours (CH) of coursework to the minimum 125 CH of coursework. This reduction is achieved by 
eliminating the requirement of the following courses: ENGR 318 (3CH), ENGR 451 (3CH), and PHY 204 
(ICH). It also involved a revision of the ME 360, and changing the course alpha designator (ENGR to ME) 
of the following courses: ENGR 240, ENGR 245, ENGR 452, and ENGR 453. ENGR 452 (2CH) was 
changed to ME 452 and reduced to 1 CH.

Rationale: Last year we chose to require STA 150/150L as the Core 2 Math requirement for psychology 
majors. We believe that requiring this course creates a hardship for a significant number of our students 
(e.g. some have already completed a Core 2 Math before entering psychology, sections of the course were 
limited and registration was difficult, etc.). We would like to drop this requirement and instead only 
recommend that psychology majors choose the STA 150/150 L option for their Core 2 Math.

Rationale: (1) To prepare students in the Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering (BSME) 
program for the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam with a focus on the Fluid Mechanics section. 
(2) To reduce the number of credit hours in the BSME program curriculum from 132 to 125 (as
requested by Marshall University). Please note that the new ME 360 (4 credit hours), unlike the old
version (3 credit hours), does not require ENGR 318 (Fluid Mechanics) as a prerequisite. While ENGR

Increases for Tenured and Tenure-Track Faculty. 
RATIONALE: 
The Senate's ad hoc Annual Evaluation of Faculty Committee conducted research and faculty listening 
sessions to determine new strategies for distributing the salary raise pool that more equally benefit 
tenured and tenure-track faculty across colleges. Additionally, the policy calls for the regular review of 
s<1lary minimums and raise increments and for new (higher) minimums and increments for full, 
associate, and assistant professors as well as term faculty in an effort to address faculty salary equity.

Rationale: The globalization has offered some large opportunities to businesses to expand their 
operations/activities beyond their countries' borders. In USA in particular, one-third of the 
companies or organizations deals with a multinational enterprises/organizations or operates 
abroad. The above situation gives an important opportunity to our students, future employees, to 
understand not only the global environment in which those operations take place, but also the 
challenges that those companies/organizations face. For these reasons, a minor in International 
Business should be an appropriate way to equip our students with knowledge (analysis and 
evaluation) on global issues useful on entering the job market.
