A Practical Approach To Treatment For Improving Sleep In Residential Setting
No full textAlthough behavioral interventions have been effective in treating these problems for individuals with developmental disabilities, the necessary components of a sleep treatment have not been identified. The purpose of this study was to assess the efficacy and practicality of different components of a sleep treatment package for individuals with autism living in a residential group home. Antecedent interventions were replicated from previous research, including bedtime fading, bedtime routine, and a sound machine. Additionally, sleep research was extended by using an accelerometer to measure sleep and by evaluating contingency review with delayed reinforcement for decreasing latency to sleep onset and increasing overall sleep. After an effective multi-component treatment was identified, one or more treatment components were removed to assess maintenance of treatment effects. For all three participants, a multi-component treatment was effective in decreasing latency to sleep onset. Practical treatment recommendations for improving sleep in residential settings will be discussed
Side Channel Analysis of Modern Cryptographic Processors
Get PDFIn an era of escalating cyber threats, hardware-level attacks have emerged as critical vectors for breaching cryptographic security. This thesis investigates two major classes of hardware-based attacks: firmware retrieval, key recovery and side-channel analysis. The first phase demonstrates practical firmware extraction from an embedded device using tools like CH341a, Binwalk, and Ghidra to reveal cryptographic vulnerabilities and recover encryption keys. The second phase explores power analysis attacks, specifically Differential Power Analysis (DPA), using the ChipWhisperer platform on STM32 and XMEGA microcontrollers to successfully extract AES encryption keys without physical tampering. These experiments underscore the limitations of relying solely on software-based defenses and highlight the ease with which attackers can exploit hardware-level information leakage. The findings advocate for stronger hardware security mechanisms, including secure boot, key masking, and power balancing. Ultimately, this work contributes to the understanding of hardware-rooted cryptographic vulnerabilities and emphasizes the need for holistic, silicon-level security approaches in modern computing systems

Using Remote Behavioral Skills Training to Teach Staff to Implement Augmented Competing Stimulus Assessments
Get PDFDespite a growing number of Board Certified Behavior Analysts®(BCBA), there are many geographic regions without access to behavior analytic services. Remote training methods that can be implemented without face-to-face contact allow for behavior analytic services to reach areas without local BCBAs to provide services. One such method with promise for remote application is behavioral skills training (BST). BST consists of instructions, modeling, rehearsal, and feedback. BST has been used to train behavior-analytic service providers to implement a variety of procedures, but BST has yet to be used to teach clinicians how to conduct augmented competing stimulus assessments (A-CSA). The A-CSA is an assessment designed to identify items that are associated with a low level of problem behavior and a high level of engagement. In the present study, the experimenters evaluated the use of remote BST to teach staff to implement a portion of the A-CSA. Instructions were insufficient to increase the accuracy of participant responding to mastery criteria. All participants met mastery criterion following either the video modeling or rehearsal and feedback condition
