KeyTrack
No full textKeyTrack is a web application built to aid the operation of the Mount Zion (IL) High School Key Club. The goal of the club is to facilitate student-led service, but it is saddled with administrative tasks such as managing attendance, tracking hours, and reporting. KeyTrack makes these tasks fast and easy to complete. The app allows Key Club members to track their service hours and projects. Its users are general body members and board members of the club. General body members can sign up for events, log hours, and view their hour totals. Board members can also create events, approve hours, and view club-wide totals. Members can use their individual hour reports for job or college applications, while board members can use club-wide reports to assess the club’s performance and comply with the annual reporting requirements of Key Club International
Earworm
No full textEarworm is a text to audio conversion software that allows a user to upload an online text file, article, newspaper, or textbook and convert it into an audio file which the user can listen to instead. A web application with a user interface allows the user to upload a PDF file of the reading of their choice. The software initially converts the file into a text file, which is then turned into an audio file that the user can download locally onto their device. The software is free to use and users can return to a downloaded audio file for as long as it remains downloaded on their device. Earworm allows users to skip through the audio file to specific timestamps, control the speed at which the text is read, and translate the text/audio into another language. Earworm is designed to make learning more efficient for its users by accelerating the tedious task of reading scholarly articles that do not include audio functionality. In doing so, Earworm aims to make all written sources available on the Internet more accessible to everyone

Get PDFThis historical study examines the Philippine-American War through the personal experiences of four individuals: David Fagen, a Black-American soldier who joined the Filipino resistance; Datu Ali, a Moro chieftain; George W. Suriley, an American soldier; and Apolinario Mabini, an advisor to Aguinaldo and a Filipino revolutionary. The paper explores the complex motivations, beliefs, and perspectives of individuals on both sides of the conflict, shedding light on the human cost of American imperialism and the diverse reactions to the United States\u27 expansion into the Philippines. It further examines the racial and social dynamics within the U.S. military and the experiences of both American and Filipino populations during this period

The application distinguishes itself by integrating written instructions that are displayed in real-time, offering guidance on various game states and rules as players progress through their match. The user interface is designed to be simple and intuitive, allowing players to focus on both the gameplay and the instructional content. As players make significant moves, changing the game states, the application dynamically updates to provide relevant explanations on such game states. “Chess? Chess.” deepens beginners’ understanding of the rules. Instructions such as: “Your King is in check! Evade or block to escape the check” or “Control the center! Putting pieces toward the center of the board results in an advantageous position” will be displayed during the live game next to the board to guide beginners
