No full textThe management and classification of secondary resources represents an important step forward in promoting enhanced circularity. The reduction of knowledge gaps in mining waste characterisation, its inventorying and the development of appropriate waste classification schemes are treated in this contribution. These actions support circularity in mining practice. The objective is to provide a research tool/portfolio for the advancement and conceptualisation of the more sustainable handling of natural resources in the Nordic countries. This includes investigating attitudes and community perceptions regarding the potential exploitation of mining waste as a secondary resource

No full textThe Nordic-Baltic Co-operation Programme for Digitalisation outlines the political priorities for the 2025–2030 period and encompasses the Nordic and the Baltic countries. Our societies are built on democracy, equality, human capital and social responsibility. The digital transition must adhere to these principles both now and in the future. As such, digitalisation and technological innovation are major drivers in the development of both the private and public sectors, and they are also a key enabler of the green transition. The collaboration is defined by our region’s joint opportunities and challenges, in creating an inclusive and safe digital transition, strengthening competitiveness and green growth, and increasing mobility and integration in the region through safe, effective, cross-border digital services for people, businesses and authorities.

De nordiske justitsministres samarbejde I perioden 2025-2030 prioriterer indsatsområder om nordisk retsenhed, retssikkerhed i Norden og forebyggelse og bekæmpelse af kriminalitet. Samarbejdet har også et særskilt fokus på forebyggelse af kriminalitet og terror, som ikke sjældent har en grænseoverskridende karakter.

These are sometimes jointly referred to as the Nordic bio-economy – a term which encompasses both economic and social development based on biological resources. The bio-economy is of considerable importance to all of the Nordic countries and has a crucial role to play in rural areas, and in the creation of prosperous and resilient societies which are home to competitive companies. Three goals will set direction for the 2025–2030 period: an enhanced green transition, greater competitiveness and bolstered resilience.

No full textNordisk Ministerråd for Arbejdsliv (MR-A) vil i perioden 2025-2030 prioritere indsatser, der fremmer gode arbejdsvilkår og ligestilling, øger beskæftigelsesfrekvensen og styrker arbejdslivets omstillingsparathed og konkurrenceevne. Grøn omstilling kræver investeringer og transition, mens demografiske ændringer understreger behovet for tilgængelig og kvalificeret arbejdskraft. Digitalisering og ny teknologi skaber både muligheder og behov for omstilling og kompetenceudvikling. Norden har haft et fælles arbejdsmarked i over 70 år og skal bruge sit unikke fællesskab til at finde bæredygtige løsninger.
Harmonisering av nordisk litteraturstatistik : Teknisk rapport
No full textI denna promemoria och tekniska rapport sammanställer Kulturanalys Norden en genomgång av litteraturstatistik i de nordiska länderna. Vi tar vår utgångspunkt i tabell CULT17 som redovisas i Nordic Statistics Database (NSD). I rapporten redovisar vi även förutsättningarna för en fortsatt harmonisering av standarder för statistiken över publicerade böcker. För att utveckla statistiken till ökad jämförbarhet är vår rekommendation att länderna framöver på ett samstämmigt sätt även inkluderar digital utgivning och egenutgivning. Vidare är rekommendationen att länderna undersöker möjligheterna till att leverera en separat variabel - ”varav barn- och ungdomsböcker” – utöver nuvarande genreuppdelning. Att främja en långsiktig och systematisk samordning av nordisk kulturstatistik är en prioriterad uppgift för Kulturanalys Norden. Vi tittar bland annat på vad som räknas in i de olika områdena, hur de är definierade och hur frekvent och vid vilka tidpunkter man samlar in statistiken. Detta är den femte rapporten i serien. Sedan tidigare har vi utrett statistikområdena teatrar, offentliga kulturutgifter, sysselsättning inom kultursektorn, bibliotek, film samt museer. Publikationen är utgiven av Kulturanalys Norden på uppdrag av Nordiska ministerrådet. Kulturanalys Norden är ett nordiskt kunskapscentrum för kulturpolitik. Det är etablerat på initiativ av Nordiska Ministerrådet och ligger sedan 2016 som uppdrag hos Myndigheten för kulturanalys
Nordic Toolbox for a Just Green Transition
No full textThe green transition involves different economic, social and territorial impacts that have been explored in the four year research project “Not Just a Green Transition – Examining the path towards a socially just green transition in the Nordic Region” (short name: NJUST). The result is the Nordic Toolbox for a Just Green Transition, which contributes to a transition towards a climate neutral Nordic Region that is socially just. The comprehensive and interactive toolbox offers guidance for Nordic policymakers to navigate challenges, listen to those affected, and get inspired. The toolbox highlights six priority areas for enabling a just green transition, and offers policy memos from four socially at-risk groups: older adults, youth, people with disabilities and those at risk of unemployment. Through practical tools and examples, a structured checklist, policymakers can gain insights into how to take action for a transition that is not only green – but equitable too.
How the EU taxonomy has impacted companies in the construction and forest sector in the Nordics
No full textThe report examines how companies in the forestry and construction sectors have responded to the EU taxonomy Regulation during its early implementation period. The analysis provides a view of the current market state in both sectors, highlighting key barriers and opportunities that companies face. Key findings indicate that there is still lack of interest from investors and customers on Taxonomy sustainability criteria, therefore the regulation has had limited impact on sustainability actions. Both sectors have chosen environmental objective one, climate change mitigation, as the objective to contribute significantly too. None have chosen environmental objective six, protection and restoration of biodiversity. The report provides recommendations to increase impact and understanding of the Taxonomy. Since it is still in its infancy, there is much to learn on the effects of the regulation
Fish stocks in Skagerrak with management shortcomings
No full textSkagerrak is a unique ecosystem with a large diversity of habitats and species, but the management of the fisheries resources has shortcomings to be addressed. Here we shed light on the current management situation for a range of commercially valuable species in Skagerrak. Some of these species show increasing trends in abundance while others are declining. However, in either case, we argue that species and fisheries will benefit from improved management, but to succeed, Norway, Sweden and Denmark must come together and develop a data- and research-based unified local management plan to underpin a sustainable utilization of Skagerrak's sea food resources in the future
