THE NORDFROST PROJECT REPORT: Farm Animal Gene Banks in the Nordic Region – Added Value Through Nordic Cooperation
No full textThe network project titled “Nordic animal gene banks – added value through Nordic cooperation” (NordFrost), has aimed to strengthen the collaboration and competence for ex-situ conservation of animal genetic resources (AnGR) in the Nordic region. This project was launched as a case study following the Horizon2020 funded IMAGE project (2016-2020) where it was concluded that there is a broad variation in the current state of practices and the distribution of responsibilities related to cryoconservation activities between the Nordic countries. The national strategies on conserving AnGR emphasise ex-situ conservation in varying degrees. However, collection of samples, metadata, back-up storage of material or common strategies and action plans for ex-situ conservation on a regional level does not exist. This makes conservation of AnGR an exposed area that threatens the resilience of Nordic food security. By developing new collaborative models, strengthening Nordic infrastructure, and enhancing the development of Nordic strategies for ex-situ conservation in the region, this network will contribute to increased sustainability for populations and future Nordic food security. Guidelines for Emission-free Construction Sites
No full textThe concept of reducing and eventually eliminating carbon emissions from construction sites has gained significant momentum in recent years. This publication presents the most recent best practices in planning and realising emission reduction on the worksite. Decisions made during initial planning, design and procurement have a great impact on energy use and waste generation during construction. In the actual construction phase, infrastructure and industry know-how is important to facilitate use of clean energy and increasing reuse and recycling of materials. Evaluation and measurements are necessary to manage emission reductions and to build industry competence.
Breaking Barriers: Empowering Effective Food Waste Solutions in the Nordic Countries
No full textThis report is a handbook for officials to access results and lessons learned from food loss and waste reduction activities in the Nordic countries. It also provides policy recommendations to further action in each country and regionally. The levels of food loss and waste remain high, and this report shows that to achieve the Sustainable Development Goal of halving food waste by 2030, stronger political action and interventions are needed. There is also a need for more long-term resources to lead the work at the national level, particularly regarding coordination efforts between various actors

Through harnessing the expertise of Nordic civil society organisations, across various thematic areas, with this publication we deliver cohesive policy recommendations to drive ambition for biodiversity across the Nordic region as well as globally through international cooperation. This is a unique group project, linking organisations with different fields of expertise and perspectives, many of whom have never worked together before, to deliver joint policy recommendations to the Nordic governments. The policy recommendations in this publication are not the primary positions and prioritised messages of all the organisations that have contributed or are supporting the publication but rather a compilation of proposals

No full textPohjoismaat ovat päässeet pitkälle sukupuolten tasa-arvossa ja seksuaali- ja sukupuolivähemmistöihin kuuluvien oikeuksissa. Edistystä on saatu aikaan sekä lainsäädännön että poliittisten toimenpiteiden avulla. Meillä on silti vielä pitkä tie edessämme ennen kuin kaikki pohjoismaalaiset voivat sukupuolesta riippumatta vaikuttaa yhdenvertaisesti omaan elämäänsä ja yhteiskunnan kehitykseen. Vastaavanlaisia haasteita on Pohjoismaiden seksuaali- ja sukupuolivähemmistöihin kuuluvien yhdenvertaisten oikeuksien ja mahdollisuuksien toteutumisessa. Yhteistyöohjelma kuvaa tasa-arvo- ja LGBTI-asiain ministerineuvoston poliittisia priorisointeja ja tavoitteita kaudella 2025–2030 ja niiden kytköstä Pohjoismaiden ministerineuvoston Visio 2030:een.

No full textNorden er kommet langt i arbejdet for ligestilling mellem kønnene og lige rettigheder for LGBTI-personer gennem både lovgivning og politiske indsatser. Samtidig har regionen stadig lang vej igen, inden alle medborgere uanset køn har samme indflydelse og mulighed for at forme sine liv og bidrage til samfundets udvikling på lige fod. På samme måde er der fortsat udfordringer, førend LGBTI-personer i Norden har samme rettigheder og muligheder som den øvrige befolkning. Samarbejdsprogrammet beskriver Nordisk Ministerråd for Ligestilling og LGBTI’s politiske prioriteringer og målsætninger for perioden 2025–2030 samt disses sammenhæng til Nordisk Ministerråds Vision 2030.
Nordic Co-operation Programme for Culture 2025–2030
No full textNordic co-operation in the areas of art, culture and the media represents a core area within the Nordic Council of Ministers. We are in a strong position here in the Nordic countries due to the cross-border cultural co-operation that has been developed. As we seek to address major internal and external societal and global changes, it is clear that a free and vibrant cultural life will play a crucial role in preserving our cohesion, our sense of hope and our quality of life. Over the coming years, the Council of Ministers for Culture will place special focus on maintaining resilient and democratic societies. Efforts to promote an inclusive cultural life that is accessible to all will be prioritised, not least in order to support children and young people and their well-being. Events over the last few years have shown that two areas which require both discussion and common action are the continued protection of free, artistic expression and our preparedness when it comes to the protection of cultural heritage. Art, culture and knowledge of cultural heritage provide different perspectives and help us understand how we can manage climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution, both on land and at sea. Art and culture have a role to play in the transition towards more sustainable lifestyles.

No full textSamstarf á sviði dómsmála er í höndum norrænu dómsmálaráðherranna. Það byggist á meginreglum Helsingforssamningsins, almennum reglum um norrænt samstarf og forgangsverkefnum í norræna samstarfinu og þessari samstarfsáætlun. Samstarf dómsmálaráðherranna á árunum 2025–2030 snýst að miklu leyti um málefnasvið er varða norræna réttareiningu og réttaröryggi á Norðurlöndum. Samstarfið beinir einnig augum að forvörnum gegn glæpum og hryðjuverkum sem eru ósjaldan þess eðlis að snerta fleiri lönd en eitt.

No full textPohjoismaiden kulttuuriministerien taiteen, kulttuurin ja median alalla tekemä yhteistyö on yksi Pohjoismaiden ministerineuvoston ydinalueista. Pohjoismaat ovat yhdessä vahvempia rajojen yli kehitettävän kulttuuriyhteistyön ansiosta. Yhteiskunnassa ja ympäristössä tapahtuvien isojen sisäisten ja ulkoisten muutosten myötä käy yhä selvemmäksi, että vapaalla ja elävällä kulttuurielämällä ja vapaalla medialla on ratkaiseva merkitys yhteenkuuluvuuden, toivon ja elämänlaadun kannalta. Kulttuuriministerineuvosto kiinnittää tulevina vuosina erityisesti huomiota häiriönsietokykyisten ja demokraattisten yhteiskuntien ylläpitämiseen. Työtä osallistavan ja kaikkien saavutettavissa olevan kulttuurielämän puolesta tulee priorisoida, erityisesti tulee vahvistaa lapsia ja nuoria ja heidän viihtyvyyttään. Viime vuosien tapahtumat ovat osoittaneet, että jatkuva vapaan taiteellisen ilmaisun suojeleminen ja varautumisen vahvistaminen kulttuuriperinnön suojelemiseksi ovat alueita, jotka vaativat sekä keskustelua että yhteistä toimintaa. Taide, kulttuuri ja kulttuuriperintöä koskeva osaaminen laajentaa näkökulmia ja auttaa meitä ymmärtämään ja käsittelemään ilmastonmuutosta, luonnon monimuotoisuuden köyhtymistä ja merellä ja maalla tapahtuvaa luonnon pilaantumista. Taide ja kulttuuri edistävät siirtymistä kohti kestävämpää elämäntapaa.
