“Standing out even in groups to which you belong” : Conditions and co-operation for LGBTI people who belong to multiple minority groups in the Nordic countries
No full textLiving conditions for LGBTI people are influenced not only by societal norms surrounding sexual orientation or gender identity but also by other social norms such as those pertaining to gender, ethnicity, skin colour, religious affiliation and socio-economic status. Little is known about the role of these factors, and marginalised subgroups among sexual minorities are often overlooked. A number of projects funded by the Nordic Gender Equality Fund and the Nordic LGBTI Fund aim to change this, focusing on issues that specifically affect LGBTI people who belong to multiple minority groups. This publication provides an insight into these Nordic co-operation projects: the problems and challenges the projects have identified, how they have been addressed and the concrete results that have been achieved. In interviews, project participants reflect on the benefits of Nordic co-operation and what is needed to improve conditions for LGBTI people who belong to multiple minority groups
New European Bauhaus across the Nordics

Dét fællesskab har vi brug for nu. Derfor er overskriften for formandskabet for Nordisk Ministerråd 2026 Norden: Forbundne i skiftende tider. Vi vil bruge formandskabet til at rykke alle otte nordiske lande endnu tættere sammen og i retning af statsministrenes vision om Norden som verdens bedst integrerede og mest bæredygtige region. Det vil vi dels gøre ved at arbejde med konkrete politikområder, dels ved at have et særligt fokus på at styrke det folkelige nordiske samarbejde i civilsamfundet. Norden består først og fremmest af de nordiske befolkninger.

Nordic wild plant genetic resources : a policy brief
No full textCrop wild relatives (CWR) are species or subspecies of plants that are closely related to our cultivated crops. As such, they have the potential to contribute beneficial properties to crops. They are genetically diverse, locally adapted and represent a potential source of valuable traits for adapting crops to changing environmental conditions and human needs. By 2050, global food production will need to have doubled compared to the turn of the millennium. Accelerating climate change and continuing alarming loss of biodiversity and habitats emphasize the acute need to adopt and implement effective policy measures to prevent further loss of valuable genetic diversity. In addition, safeguarding and properly utilizing these wild genetic resources may contribute to strengthening Nordic plant breeding and, consequently, its competitiveness.All Nordic countries are Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity and thereby bound by decisions taken by the Conference. One decisive policy instrument is the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework adopted in 2022. With respect to wild genetic diversity, the framework both sets a global goal for 2050 and a specific target for 2030. It is now time for the Nordic countries to implement these policies at the national level. The following set of recommendations – addressing the joint Nordic and the national level, respectively – is the result of a project within the Nordic Council of Ministers Nature-Based Solutions programme. No full textPohjoismaiden neuvosto haluaa tukea Pohjolan integraatiota poistamalla byrokraattisia rajaesteitä, jotka vaikeuttavat ihmisten asumista, työskentelyä ja opiskelua sekä yritysten toimintaa rajojen yli. Pohjoismaiden neuvoston vapaan liikkuvuuden strategia 2026–2030 perustuu seitsemään perusoikeuteen, jotka koskevat muun muassa työtä, koulutusta, hoivaa, selkeitä verosääntöjä ja rajat ylittäviä digitaalisia ratkaisuja. Tietopankki, toimijaverkosto ja selkeät indikaattorit ovat ne kolme konkreettista työkalua, jotka antavat pontta parlamentaarikkojen työhön, kun hallitukset laahaavat perässä. Tavoitteena on Pohjola, jossa kaikki 27 miljoonaa asukasta voivat elää, tehdä töitä ja liikkua vapaasti.
