We are shifting $35,000 of the CD to use on the parsonage. Loan is in place with 15 year

Evangelism- Don and Preacher Joyce commented that cottage prayer meetings had gone well

Missions--Don--W. Va. mission trip went fine--team prepared breakfast for locals and afterwards 
gave out bags of food and clothes. Planning on checking on different area for missions; looking 
for somewhere in SC for a mission trip. Shoe Box deadline is Nov. 16. Working with teachers af 
local schools for names for Angel Tree. Should have names by end of Nov. · 
Music--Sylvia--Veteran's Day program Nov. 8 4PM and Christmas Cantata Dec. 6 at 6:30PM. , 
SS--Preacher Joyce shared there is renewed interest and excitement. 2 teachers and IO students 
upstairs on Nov. 1st. SS Assembly 9:45AM 
UMM-David-Men will meet at Bojangles Thursday week with brief devotion. Men are checking 
in to building a ramp for the Duvall home. Lady's Christmas dinner will be second Thursday of 
December (10th). 
Family Mioistries--Thanksgiving meal Nov. 22. 
CJMW & Forever Youog--Beth-UMW-aU women invited; meeting Nov. 12 at 6:30PM Beth's 
home. 
Forever Young--several activities plaoned--Nov. 19 Lunch at Socastee High School, 
33 have signed up to go to the Carolina Opry Christmas show Dec. 1st and the Christmas lunch 
will be Dec. 15 in Fellowship Hall 11:30AM 
Sylvia suggested that more infonnation about upcoming events and activities be put in the 
bulletin; may cause greater interest. 
Trustees--Darrell-Refinanced parsonage amount $126,456.67 at 4.25%--will come due Oct. 22, 
2018. Payment amount $1,125.00; Darrell motioned to have Peachey remit $1,500.00 a month; 
David seconded; carried. 
Trustees to meet Nov. 3; will discuss putting van up for sale (98 GMC Savannah)-good 
sbape--probably sealed bids-set minimum amount and hopefully finish with sale by end of year. 
Money from sale to Building Fund. 
Phone Tree--system we have now will be obsolete by end ofyear--may want to look into 
different altemative--possibly HTC calling system--does have monthly charge. Phone Tree should 
not fall under trustees--possibly communications. 
Front of church pressure washed-pressure washed at parsonage; landscaping in good shape 
SPRC--Pat--meeting this Monday--some paperwork needs to be completed. 
Finance--Brad-- Budget $18,145.00; Building Fund $23,314.00; Special $15,943.00 
Pastor Joyce--Deaona Hutson has idea for new visitation program; develop program, get 
groups, and go visit and deliver loaf of bread with honey or jelly.

Don opened with prayer. 
Stan read I Peter 3:8-4: 11 and challenged us to use our God given gifts to serve others. 
Minutes presented-Darrell corrected--$10,000 for both AC's (Youth & Choir) and David said 
correction needed to be made--Rivertown Boys instead of Crystal Rivers & the spelling of revival 
speaker should be Stan Colbert. Motion to accept with corrections by Carlisle and David second. 
Motion carried. 
Evangelism - Gary - cottage prayer meetings went well--average attendance IO at 
each--encouraged attendance at revival. 
Missions - Don- WVa trip-9 people going maybe 10--Sept. 25-27. Info for Operation Shoe Box 
will be out !st or 2nd week ofOctober--deadline Nov. 16. Angel Tree helped 38 children last yr, 
good thing- to continue. 
Music• Sylvia - busy working on music for Veteran's Day and Christmas. 
Sunday School - Linda - Gary volunteered to help out; greatly appreciated-Assembly starts at 
9: 4 Sam--need to get word out; any recommendations or suggestions should go to Linda. 
Darrell Ricketts said items for phonetree should go to Wendy Parker. 
UMM - David - will meet 2nd Thursday in October, all men invited; 7pm--hope to work on some 
projects for church family and immediate community---example: wheelchair ramp 
Don brought up that Jan Duvall needs a good used stove--Carlisle might have one. 
Family Ministries - Pam not present--no report 
UMW & Forever Young -Beth - UMW 2nd Thursday in October; 6:30pm at Beth's home; 
Forever Young -· will go to MB Senior Center to hear group from Va (seniors); Thanksgiving 
dinner planned and trip to Carolina Opry planned. 
Trustees - Darrell - nothing major to report od; things seem to be running well; had slow leak in a 
toilet--let Darrell or other trustee know if come across a problem or need; trustees to meet next 
wk. 
SPRC - Pat - recommend 7% increase in Pastor's Budget; 2% cost of living 5% merit; unanimous 
recommendation from PPRC; discussion & comments from Gary, David, Brad, Darrell, Sylvia, 
Carlisle, Don and Sara 
Stan asked Carlisle to pray liefore vote. 
Motion to accept recommendation ofSPRC; increase $3,834.81 
Vote IO for; 4 opposed & 3 non voting; motion carried 
Finance - Brad - Budget presented--items pointed out; SS Literature, VBS, Insurance & 
Evangelism-$2,500 increase in budget. David motioned to accept Gary s\:cond; carried. 
Pastor Joyce - stated her only desire is to serve God and have others see Jesus in her. She wants 
God to pour out His Holy Spirit on this place. 
Gary shared that we must be about God's business of loving people.

Preacher Joyce - prayer needs- Mrs. Hilda Ambrose, John Doyle, Abigail Doyle, Charles Bagnal, 
Carrie Staples, Patsy Gaskins' brother, Bud, killed in car accident & her cousin passed away, 
Steve Dawsey & John Martin 
Gary Altman - opened with prayer & prayed for those named. 
Stan Woodle - read Matthew 7:15-23. He then spoke on how we view success as leaders of this 
church. Is our church successful in expanding the Christian faith? How successful are we in what 
God has ealled us to do? Pastor Joyce then prayed. 
No minutes presented from previous meeting - Glenda Hopson was not at the meeting; Beth 
Davis took minutes, but was out of town. 
Evangelism: Gary - Revival will be week of September 27th. Crystal River will sing & Reverend 
Stan Culbert (Chaplain for the Salvation Army in Daytona Beach) will be preaching. Gary passed 
sheets (calendars) for those that wanted to sign up to host cottage prayer meetings. Asked 
everyone to prayerfully prepare for the revival. 
Family Ministries: Pam Dyson - Crystal Rivers will perform on September 27th. Meal will be at 5 
or 5:30, then singing and revival. October 25th will be Trunk or Treat. November 22nd will be 
the Thanksgiving dinner. 
Finance: Brad Dusenbury - Sunday's offering was over $6,000. Still behind on budget $3,500. 
Operating account - $25,000+, Building Fund - $22,500, Special Account - $12,500. 
Missions: Don Hopson - Davey, West Virginia, trip will be September 25th to 27th. The 
emphasis will be on food but we will take some clothes. Would rather have donations to purchase 
food at Goodson Supermarket since the manager helps and the food is normally 1/2 cost. Will 
have Saturday morning prayer breakfust and then one-on-one alter time. Information will follow 
on Operation Shoe Box. The Angel Tree is to be decided - last year 38 children were helped. 
Operation Back Packs & Blessings of the Schools will be August I 6th, beginning at Aynor 
Elementary at 4:30 pm and then at Aynor Town Park at 6 pm. 
Music: Sylvia Page - Veteran's Day program is November 8th at 4 pm. Christmas Cantata is 
December 6th at 6:30pm. 
SPRC: Pat Parker - No new business to report 
Sunday School: Linda Gerrald - Pastor Joyce is helping. Having assembly on Sunday mornings at 
8:45, will change to 9:45 after time change. Sunday School materials have been received and 
distributed - will help with getting back-ups for teachers. 
Trustees: Darrell Ricketts - Replaced Air Conditioning unit in youth room ($5,200) & choir 
($10,000). Van is up in years - would like to sell. It is not to be used to carry youth or children. 
The trailer hitch was put on the church bus. 
UMM: David Parker - Took summer off; will start back in September. 
UMW & Forever Young: - Beth not present. Sarah Whitner reported. UMMW fed group at 
Salkehatchie & Bible School group in Marion. 
Pastor Joyce: Her goal every day is to be all that God has called her to be. The membership roll 
is being worked on - letters are going out to actual members. 
Stan Woodle: Touched on safety detail during services - I man in fellowship hall & 1 man at the 
front entrance. This is working out well. A notion was made by Darrell Ricketts for 
reimbursement of portable radios. Pam Dyson - second the motion; the motion carried. 
David motioned to adjourn; Heather seconded. 
Don had closing prayer & then meeting adjourned.

Stan called meeting to order; Stevie opened w ith prayer 
Stan's devotion-Salvation is God's Grace; requirement on our part is repentance. Are we willing 
to move t oward the Lord and repent? When we repent we turn around and do not continue in 
our sinfu l actions. As Christian brothers and sisters we have to walk beside one anot her and 
hold each other up. We are accountable to t he Lord. Repentance is required. 
Minutes presented-Sylvia motioned to accept; Stevie seconded 
Evangelism-Gary-cottage prayer meetings leading t o revival 
Missions-Heather (reported for Don) West Va Mission Trip dates Oct. 21-23- will concentrate 
on the need for coats and food 
Music-Sylvia-working on Veteran's Day and Christmas 
~-Linda-teacher needed for younger children. Preacher stated she had ta lked with Catherine 
and she has it covered. 47 in SS attendance-up a little 
UMM-Charles said that Christmas Dinner for ladies had been discussed at t heir last meeting; 
date second Thursday of December 
UMW-Beth-ladies met last Thursday and made plans for the year 
Forever Young-Beth-third Thursday (20th) group to go to NC to pick tomatoes (if picking); lunch 
in Calabash afterwards 
Trustees-Stevie-everything tabled till Bryant house moved and lot cleared 
Finance-Brad-account balances: General/Operating $43,731; Special $14,326; Building Fund 
$20,641. Good offering Sunday (11th) $6,660 contr ibutions. Loans: Parsonage $102,824; New 
Lot approximately $38,000 owed 
Brad presented proposed 2017 Budget; Charles motioned to accept; Stevie seconded 
PPRC-Pat-work in progress for church secretary (10/12 hrs per week) 
Nurture-Sara/Preacher-Corey working on Soup Day for those in need; donuts and coffee prior 
to revival-cottage prayer meetings scheduled; special prayer time at church 
Sandra--monies earmarked for specific donations-example: Parsonage- money goes in 
Build ing Fund and t hen taken out and separate check written to be applied to principal on 
Parsonage Loan. No line item in budget for this 
Sylvia brought up her concern about Sandra and Jeffrey's duties; discussed and explained; she 
also had a concern that noth ing in bulletin about Epworth even t hough there was a special 
service to honor First Responders. 
With no further discussion, Preacher Joyce asked Stan to pray and meeting adjourned.

Angel Tree program. Looking at spring for next mlssion trip. Don thanked everyone for suppon.

SS-Preachcr Joyce reported -Children's grouJH)nly can say God inspired-asked council membeis to be in prayer 
for those outside our doors who need the Lord. 
Ul\lM-David-Ramp completed for Du Vall home and a good used stove was provided for Duvall's also. The Ladies 
Night Christmas Supper was great; men will meet second Thursday; will help UMW with Valentine's supper. If 
anyone knows of a need please let men know, they will try to belp. 
Family Ministries-Preacher reported Christmas Brunch turned out well; Family Ministries team working on 
upcoming happenings. 
UMW-Beth-UMW will meet Jan. 14 at 7PM in church parlor or class room- no meal; Valentine's Supper will be 
Saturday, Feb. 13; details to follow; money to go to Missions; UMW will work on Mother's Day and Father's Day 
Booklets. 
Forever Young-Beth- Jan. 19 to Webster's in Mullins (leave church at 10:30AM); Feb. 16 lwich in church

NOVEMBER 27, 2017 
ATTENDING: Beth Davis, Rachel Dawsey, Brad Dusenbury, Heather Hendrick, Don Hopson, 
Glenda Hopson, Preacher Joyce Murphy, David Parker, Pat Parker, Betty Peavy, Sara Whitner, 
Linda Gerrald, Bucky Jordan, Donna Allen, Freddie Gerrald, Jeffrey Singleton, Kathy Best, Stan

Stan called meeting to order; Glenda opened w ith prayer; Stan presented devotion. 
Minutes of 9· 11-17 presented; Donna motioned to accept and Sara seconded. 
Evangelism: Gary not present at time report called for 
Missions: Don-waiting on list of names from schools for Angel Tree; suggestion made that 
church members might Honor Jesus this Christmas by purchasing Bibles for $5.00. Report 
from W. Va. Mission Trip-went really well; people seemed more appreciative and helpful. 
Between 60/80 people enjoyed breakfast the team provided and turkey meals were given to 40 
families; 1 person received food and breakfast items. 
Sunday School: Linda - SS attendance picking up; 52 on 11/26 and 51 previous Sunday-working 
on SS rotation schedule for teachers for young children 
UMM: Oavid-Annual Ladies Christmas Dinner 12/14 at 7PM at church; all lad ies welcome-
anyone needing a ride can contact David or Sheldon Dawsey. 
UMW: Beth-women will meet 12/7 at 7PM at Susan Chandler's home for annual ornament 
exchange; all invited 
Forever Young: Beth- group w ill meet at church on 12/19 for Christmas lunch and fel lowship 
Trustee: Stevie working-Jeffrey reported there are still some lights out-working on problem 
Finance: Brad-Account Ba lances-Operating Account $38,000; Special $11,000; Trustee 
$24,000. There w ill be a notice in bulletin that 12/31 last day to get contributions in for 2017; 
copies of Budget and what spent will be available. 
PPRC: Pat- nothing new 
Nuture: Sara-$145.00 in donations were made to Soup Kitchen at Thanksgiving l unch; hope to 
start last week of January 2018; will be last week of each month. Meal will be soup, sandwich, 
cookies or brownies and tea. At times they will be given something t o take home. 
Donna suggest ed that a love Offering be taken during church to help. 
Preacher Joyce encouraged all to support the upcoming events and challenged the group to 
w itness and invite others to church.

serving God; and reminded us of our responsibilit ies as council members to work together to take care 
of the business of the church. 
Stan called for previous minutes; May 15, 2017 minutes presented; Stevie mot ioned to accept; Beth 
seconded; carried. 
Evangelism: no report 
Missions: Don - looking at latter part of Oct. or near Thanksgiving for next mission t rip; there may be 
greater need in SC and or GA; requests for help from church will probably pick up In Sept/Oct. 
Music: Sylvia-Veteran's program 11·5 at 4PM; Christmas Cantata 12/3 at 6:30PM; Sylvia also had 
concerns about not having a church secretary; adding more information to bullet in and phone tree. 
Stan said those things would be discussed during meeting at appropriate reporting. 
SS: no report 
UMM: David- next meeting Thursday, 9-14; 7PM at church 
UMW: Beth-meeting Thursday, 9-14 ; 7PM at church.

numbers programed

Proposed budget presented-little less than last year-no discussion-Pat motioned to accept; Stevie 
seconded, carried 
PPRC: Pat-meeting update paperwork; church profile-no increase in preacher's salary; little variation in 
insurance. In discussion for church secretary Sandra explained the separat ion of duties and 
responsibilit ies for bulletin and news letter; Pam had concern that phone tree not working and that 
church does not have secretary. 
Preacher Joyce: 9-20 Safe Sanctuary meeting at 7PM; Stand Strength Revival Feb. 22-25, 2018; Corey 
and other members of Nurture Committee w ill meet to discuss plans for Soup Kitchen to reach those 
that may need assistance and offer then spiritual food as well. Plans to give out bags w ith non 
perishable items to take with t hem. 9-24 Charge Conference at 5PM; PPRC to meet before at 4:30PM 
and Revival conference. 
Pat added that Pastor Appreciation Sunday would be 10-15 with covered dish meal after service. 
Anyone wishing can give Love Offering.

Evangelism Gary-working on Fall Revival; concerned that number of people won to the Lord 
since last meeting not high. Gary read from two books "What's wrong with our church" 
Michael Youseff and "Know your enemy'' {Satan/Devil) A. W. Tozer. He reminded that the 
purpose of man is for Worship; make worshipers. Worshipers are needed more than workers . 
We were challenged to worship the Lord first and foremost and the numbers will take care of 
themselves. 
M issions Don-no date set for next mission trip-maybe latter part of July to West Virginia. At 
this t ime not many requests for help 
Family Ministries Pam-looking at dates; looking at couple of singing groups 
Music Sylvia-staying busy 
Sunday School Linda-Little Ones did good job on Mother's Day; things seem to be good 
UM M David-good week; men's group fish fry at Sheldon' s; Breakfast for Mothers numbers are 
starting to fall off. Thanks to Briggs and her Mother for all t hey did to help and to all those that 
helped. UMM will not meet June, July, and August; w ill st art back in September. 
UMW Beth-Father's Day Breakfast June; Forever Young road trip for lunch; 14 going 
Trustees Stevie-everyth ing the same; problem at Parsonage take care of t his week; some lights 
out in Sanctuary.

Nurture Sara-March for Jesus good; Easter was great 
Yout h - June 4 Graduation; 5 Graduates 
Discussion about use of church bus; guidel ines by Trustees; VBS Linda and Sharon; Salkahatchie 
Bucky and Donna; Sylvia suggested that a list of who w ill be r iding on t he bus should be left at 
the church office in case t here is an emergency 
Salkahatchie June 10-17; Bucky, Donna; 8 going; Tr in ity UM; Jeff Davis Director 
VBS July 17-20 9:30AM till 12noon; 21st Family Night; Linda will run bus in mornings for VBS 
{Sharon and Sara to help);
