ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD MEETING 
OCTOBER 9, 1994 
12:00 P.M. 
The Administrative Board of the Aynor United Methodist 
Church met October 9, 1994 immediately after worship 
service in the Sanctuary. 
Rev. Knight explained that he had been contacted by Mrs. 
Estelle Dawsey Mohr in reference to presenting to the 
Church a picture of The Last Supper in memory of her 
parents, Maida and Wilson Dawsey. 
A motion was made and approved that the gift be accepted. 
Being no other business, the meeting was adjourned.

CHARGE CONFERENCE 
OCTOBER 2, 1994 
The following members of the Administrative Board met for 
the annual Charge Conference with Rev. Richard Knight 
presiding on October 2, 1994 at 7:00 p.m. at the Aynor 
United Methodist Church: Bill Altman, Luther Altman, Mary 
Catherine Altman, Catherine Brown, Beth Davis, Bill Davis, 
Mary Dawsey, Rachel Dawsey, Paul Dusenbury, Stan Dyson, 
Patsy Gaskin, James Gerrald, Morris Graham, Don Hopson, 
Darlene Hucks, Pamela Hucks, Vicky Hucks, Rev. Knight, 
Anita Maness, David Parker, Sara Whitner, and Glenn 
Winburn. 
Rev. Knight called the meeting to order and opened with 
scripture and prayer. 
Reports had been prepared and the following highlights 
were given: 
Mission Statement and goals for Council on Ministries were 
adopted as presented. 
Rev. Knight reviewed the Report of Pastor. 
James Gerrald reviewed the Trustee report. 
Motion was made and approved that the Committee on 
Nominations and Personnel slate of officers be accepted as 
presented. 
Motion was made and approved that Jean Best and James 
Gerrald be elected to serve as Class of 1997 members of 
the Committee on Nominations and Personnel. 
Patsy Gaskin reviewed the United Methodist Women report. 
John Looney reviewed the United Methodist Men report. 
The UMYF report was presented. 
Rev. Knight spoke of Vision 2000. 
Membership goals were discussed. Motion was made and 
approved that we will work toward a 5% membership growth. 
Ministerial Support report was reviewed and approved as 
presented. 
Charge Conference Minutes Continued: 
Motion was made and approved by 25 members that David Best 
be recommended as a candidate for Ordained' Ministry. 
Lay Speakers names were read and accepted. 
Motion made and approved that Rachel Dawsey and Francis 
Floyd be bonded. 
The 1995 Budget was approved as presented. 
There being no other business, the meeting was adjourned 
at 8:20 p.m.

Luther Altman, chairperson, called the meeting to order and Rev. Knight led in a devotional. 
Reports from chairpersons and work areas for October-December were discussed. 
Education/Higher Education 
1. September has been designated as "Sunday School -Month. 11 
2. Sunday School Promotion Sunday will be August 28. 
3. Students in higher education will be recognized on November 27; 
4. Adult Sunday School classes will be assigned a college student who is living 
away from home to send care packages to ; . 
Christian Unity 
We will participate in a community Thanksgiving service on November 20 in the 
Aynor High School Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Rev. Rufus Coffey will be the preacher 
that evening. This service is sponsored by the Aynor Area Ministerial Association. 
Evangelism, Don Hopson, chairperson 
1. Fall Revival will be held October 16-19 with Rev. Albert Cox of Holly Hill United 
Methodist Church as guest preacher. 
2. Cottage prayer meetings will be held on October 6 and a Prayer Vigil from 7 a.m. 
to 7 p.m. will be held on October 15 to pray for the revival. 
3. Don will be looking for couples to volunteer to visit the visitors that attend 
Worship Service each Sunday. 
Status and Role of Women 
November 6 will be "Women in the Pulpit" Sunday.

ushering worshipers to a pew.

Dec. 18, 6:30 p.m., Christmas Communion Service. 
Dec. 31, meet to remove Christmas decorations from the church and store them. 
Dec. 31, 11:30 p.m., Watch Night Service and communion. 
Communications, Irene Bell, coordinator 
Five bulletin boards have been installed in the Fellowship Hall to be used to 
emphasis the Children's Department, the Youth Department, Adult and Family 
Ministries, recognize new members, and general news. 
Children's Department, Rachel Dawsey, chairperson 
1. Sunshine Club will begin meeting the last Wednesday of September and continue 
meeting the last Wednesday of each month through May. 
2. Dec. 10, 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon, Santa's Workshop for K-6th graders, 
3. Dec. 18, Chrildren's Christmas Program presented during Sunday School. 
4. Rachel was given permission to appoint a nursery coordinator to arrange 
for attendants at all church functions. 
5. The Children's Sunday School classes will be divided as follows: 
K-2nd, 3rd-4th, and 5th-6th graders. 
Youth Ministries, Michelle Altman, coordinator 1995 
1. Meetings have been changed to Sunday evenings and Stan and Jackie Woodle have 
taken over as Youth Counselors. 
2. Oct. 15, the UMYF will have a Service Project Day--the youth will be visiting the 
shutins and elderly and raking their yards or whatever services is needed. 
3. Oct. 23, 5:30 p.m., UMYF Annual Pumpkin Carving. Pumpkins will be delivered 
to the shutins that night. 
4. UMYF Bake Sale after church on Oct. 23. 
5. UMYF Ham Dinner after church on Nov. 13--plates will be $4.00. 
6. Dec. 10, UMYF Progressive Dinner. 
7. Dec. 19, UMYF Live Manger Scene. 
Adult Ministries, Ann Altman, chairperson 
1. Oct. 18, 12 noon, Retired Fellowship, Salad Lunch with Rev. Albert Cox speaker. 
2. Nov. 15, Retired Fellowhsip lunch at Dale's in Tabor City. Depart at 11:30 a.m. 
Family Ministries, Beth Davis, chairperson 
1. Meals for the revival: Sunday Night, churchwide covered dish supper; 
Monday night, supper provided by the Friendship Class and the Davis Class; 
Tuesday Night, supper provided by the Koon Class and the College and Career Class; 
Wednesday Night, supper provided by the Wesley Class and the Altman Class. 
2. Nov. 20, after church, covered dish Family Thanksgiving Dinner. 
3. Dec. 4, refreshements after the Christmas Contata. 
4. Dec. 18, gifts for a needy family will be brought to the 6:30 service. The 
gifts will be delivered after the service. 
5. Dec. 19, Family Night with homemade goodies after the Live Manger Scene.

ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD MEETING 
SEPTEMBER 11, 1994 
5:00 P.M. 
The Administrative Board of the Aynor United Methodist 
Church met on September 11, 1994 at 5:00 p.m. in the 
Sanctuary. Paul Dusenbury presided. 
The meeting was called to order a~ 5:00 p.m. and Paul 
opened the meeting with scripture and prayer. 
Minutes from the last meeting were approved as presented. 
Reports were given as follows: 
Rev. Knight gave the Treasurer Report: 
a. Present deficit is $3968.78 
b. $4000.00 was applied toward mortgage 
c. General Memorial Fund has $8500.00 which includes 
the picnic shelter money 
Page Ambrose gave the Financial Report: 
a. A special offering will be taken on United Way 
Sunday which is 9-25-94 
b. John Dawsey has been selected as stewardship 
Campaign Person 
c. An audit committee has been selected to look over 
the books. They are Ken Ward, Chris Parker, Allison 
Best, and Rachel Dawsey. 
d. Motion was made and approved for Freddie Gerrald to 
check into purchasing a computer 
e. Spoke of IRS changes concerning offerings of $250 or 
more 
f. Mortgage balance is $196,300.00 
g. Copy of proposed budget was distributed and 
discussed 
h. Motion was made and approved to give the Horry 
County Shelter Home $100.00 
i. Budget was approved as discussed 
James Gerrald gave the Trustee Report: 
a. Insurance coverage with Southern Mutual began on 
9-1-94. Quarterly premiums are $849.00 
b. Roof problems are to be corrected by Chancel Const. 
Company 
c. Bulletin boards have been installed 
Luther Altman gave the Council on Ministries Report: 
a. See attachment 
b. Mission Statement for 1 95 and Goals for '95 were 
approved 
Don Hopson gave the Evangelism Report: 
a. Attempting to get more volunteers for visitation 
Rev. Knight reported that we have been asked to sponsor a 
Girl Scout Troop who will hold meetings at the Church. 
Motion was made and approved to do so. A note of thanks 
was read concerning the gifts presented to a needy family. 
He adjourned the meeting at 6:05 p.m. with prayer.

The Administrative Board of the Aynor United Methodist 
Church met on January 16, 1994 at 5:30 p.m. in the 
Fellowship Hall. Paul Dusenbury presided. 
The meeting was called to ordel:'· a:t 5r30 p,m: and Paul 
opened the meeting with scripture and prayer. 
The first order of busine.ss was to elect Vice Chairpers.on 
and secretary. Luther Altman was elected Vice Chairman 
and Vicky Hucks was elected secretary. 
Minutes from the last meeting were approved as presented. 
Reports were g:i,ven as follows:

a. Presently there is a budget deficit of $2,666.00 
b. Memorial Fund has$ 6,700.00. 
It was recommended by the Finance Committee that the 
$6,700.00 ~emorial Fund be applied toward the Church 
mortgage debt. This was approved. 
Paul Dus.enbury gave the Trustee Report: 
a. The broken pipe in the kitchen has been repaired. 
Rev. Knight re.ported that the Parsonage is in good repair. 
John Dawsey reported that the Staff/Parish Relations 
Committee has requested that Rev. Knight return for 
a:nother year. 
Luther Altman gave the Council on Ministeries Report: 
a. Irene Bell was selected as Secretary. 
b. It ts our yeat" to host the Easter Sunrise Service. 
c. Love Loaves are to be given out on February 16. 
d. Toe Homecoming :Preacher w.ill be selected by Rev. 
Knight. 
e. Volunteers are needed to take tapes to shut-ins. 
f. Eight are enrolled in Confirmation Class. 
Rev. Knight spoke of the Vision 2000 meeting in Marion on 
1~23-94. 
Paul Dusenbury gave the United Methodist Men report. 
a. Corriinended Carlysle Dawsey for getting s.peakers for 
their meetings. 
Administrative Board Meeting Minutes Continued: 
Patsy Gaskin reported for the United Methodist Women: 
a. Aynor hosted the District Meeting. 
b. Attempting to get women under 40 to attend meetings. 
Rev. Knight reported that the Youth ,are having the Sunday 
night nursery. 
Irene Bell requested information for the newsletter. 
Rev. Knight requested ah updated list of Church Members 
who would like to continue receiving the Advocate. John 
Dawsey suggested taking a survey asking who woul:d be 
interested in subscribing next year and possibly paying 
for their own subscription in the future. 
Carlyf:lle Dawsey spoke on the organization of our Church in 
October of 1912.

Hall. Paul Dusenbury presided. 
The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. and Paul 
opened the meeting with scripture and prayer. 
Minutes from the last meeting were approved as presented . 
Reports were given as follows: 
Page Ambrose presented the attached Treasurer Report. 
James Gerrald gave the Trustee Report: 
a. Present Fire Insurance Company will not renew policy 
due 9-1-94. Currently getting quotes from other 
companies. 
b. Mildew problem has been looked at. 
c. Roof bulges are to be repaired. 
d. An expansion joint has been put in to repair crack 
in hallway. 
e. The wet/dry vac has been purchased. 
f. Bulletin boards are going to be placed in the hall. 
g. Attempting to hire someone to service air 
conditioners. 
Luther Altman gave the Council on Ministries Report: 
a. Singles group is doing well. 
b. Women in the Pulpit will be November 6. 
c. 242 names are on the list for the newsletter. 
d. Six shut-ins are receiving the tape ministries. 
e. Jackie and Stan Woodle will be taking over the UMYF. 
John Looney gave the Methodist Men Report: 
a. Attempting to get more men to come to meetings. 
b. A bar - b-gue is planned for November. 
Rev. Knight reported that Pauline Dyson has resigned as 
Evangelism Chairperson due to illness . Don Hopson was 
nominated and approved as new chairperson. 
It was approved that Girl Scout day camp can be held at 
the Church on July 25 & 26. 
John Dawsey made a motion to apply the Building Fund 
Memorial to the Church debt. This was approved. 
Rev. Knight adjourned the meeting at 6:30 p.m. with 
prayer.
