Making Artificial CIPS Data With a Generative Adversarial Neural Network
Get PDFPolar mesospheric clouds (PMCs) have been studied for thirteen years by NASA\u27s Aeronomy of Ice in the Mesosphere (AIM) satellite. The Cloud Imaging and Particle Size (CIPS) instrument onboard AIM has taken many images of PMCs over this time. Such a large number of images makes CIPS data ideal for training neural networks which require large datasets. CIPS images were used to train a Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) to train towards being able to generate purely artificial CIPS-like images

Get PDFThe title of our research-based inquiry is Incidental Teaching and Its Impact on Children With Autism Spectrum Disorder. The purpose and reason for doing this inquiry is to determine if incidental teaching is an applicable evidence-based program for teaching children with Autism Spectrum Disorder appropriate communication skills and social interactions. The main question driving our inquiry is if “incidental teaching is an effective program for helping students with Autism Spectrum Disorder communicate and further develop their language abilities?â€. Our hypothesis/assumption regarding this question is that if educators and interventionists use incidental teaching to teach children with Autism Spectrum Disorder appropriate communication skills/habits then the child will progress and have enhanced communication abilities. Having our findings, in mind we believe and recommend that incidental teaching be implemented in all children with Autism Spectrum Disorders intervention plan. We feel this way because we found that despite it being under-researched that there is some merit to it being an effective evidence-based program when it comes to teaching appropriate social and communications skills to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Along with interviewing, I analyzed six credible articles to further understand the topic. After collecting data overtime, I analyzed my research to produce a credible understanding for my final product. The purpose of this research assignment is to further my knowledge on a topic I was insecure about as a future educator. In the end I came to a well-informed conclusion about motivating students with unmet behavior needs

Get PDFI\u27ll be doing a Choose Your Own Adventure: Where it is an interactive story where the participants make health decisions that ultimately affect their health, quality of life, and mortality. My project will be on lung cancer, a cancer that occurs in the lungs and is mostly caused by smoking. Lung cancer is the second most common cancer in both men and women. Some symptoms can be a cough, chest pain, wheezing, and weight loss. Some risk factors are people who smoke, people who have family history of lung cancer, and people who are exposed to radon and are in areas with heavy air pollution. The goal of my project is to show how different things can cause lung cancer and can show what you can do differently to prevent from getting it.
Spritz or showcase? Gender, uncertainty, and fragrance evaluation
No full textReactions to a scent are both cognitive and neurobiological, and impact fragrance evaluation along two key factors. One is gender, due to information processing differences among men and women. The other one is uncertainty, which firms induce via sales strategies by either spritzing a fragrance before revealing brand and price information, or by showcasing the fragrance by revealing brand and price prior to smelling. Surprisingly, how and when to implement these strategies remains unexplored. This research addresses this gap. It conceptualizes a new mechanism by applying spreading activation theory to the context of the neurobiological scent-processing pathway, proposing that scent, as the prime node in the associative network, automatically activates six attributes: scent characteristics, personal memories, qualitative attributes, social aspects, valence, and marketing-related attributes. We then empirically investigate how these attributes impact product evaluation. A multi-methods approach employing electronic word-of-mouth analysis finds support for the activation of the six fragrance attributes. Two experiments also support their presence, and reveal that men and women evaluate fragrances differently because their information processing is contingent on uncertainty. Managers can nudge the attribute activation process and maximize fragrance evaluation by implementing a gender-based sales strategy, relying on spritzing for men and showcasing for women
How does a team’s virtuality impact knowledge transfer effectiveness among its members?: A multi-mediator-moderator model
No full textA thorough understanding of how organisational teams behave effectively in the ever increasingly virtual setting has become integral to team success. One such vital team behaviour is the transfer of knowledge among team members (i.e. knowledge transfer). Two divergent views of team virtuality and its impact on knowledge transfer effectiveness have been presented in the literature. Our approach to addressing this research gap is to identify the mediating pathway between virtuality and knowledge transfer effectiveness and identify the contingent conditions of the mediating pathway. We test our research model through a quasi-experimental study. The results establish a sequential link among virtuality, the transactive memory system, open communication climate, and knowledge transfer effectiveness in a team context. Further, the results show that the timing of virtuality has intricate influences on the overall nature (i.e. being positive or negative) of virtuality’s impact on knowledge transfer effectiveness
