The Effect of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Disordered Eating Behaviors
Get PDFThe goal of this study was to evaluate whether people have exhibited more disordered eating behaviors (e.g. binging, restricting food, purging, etc.) during the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown. While the general survey evaluated these behaviors in a general sample, we were also interested in investigating if there was a difference in the change of these symptoms in people who had eating disorders before the onset of the pandemic. We predicted that there would be an increase in disordered eating behaviors as a result of the pandemic. We also predicted that people with pre-existing eating disorders would have experienced a larger increase in symptoms than those who did not

A non-destructive analytical technique used for analyzing a variety of glassware samples in hopes to determine their elemental composition based off their qualitative and quantitative data results.
Get PDFIn this study, XRF analysis was used to examine and identify specific glassware samples, exported from remote locations, in hopes to determine any correlation between the glass samples being tested. During experimentation, there were 41 glass samples and 3 glass standards that were examined and quantitatively analyzed to determine the elemental compositions of all samples. To ensure optimal sensitivity of these different materials, four methods were utilized to confirm accurate data is collected and to improve all quantitative data results. These four methods contain distinct experimental factors and were purposely selected due to their specific current, voltage, filter, time, and vacuum. The purpose of changing any of these experimental factors, specifically the voltage and filter, is tomaximize sensitivity to the elements of interest
Disney Princesses and Gender Expectations
Get PDFMy research aims to show the older generation of Disney princesses\u27 problems and how they are changing the narrative to give girls more agency. In some research, I have learned that \u27Disney Princesses represent salient, powerful, attractive characters who tend to be portrayed as conforming to gender stereotypes and are rewarded for their gendered behavior\u27 (Coyner, para9). Most girls identify with older princesses like Snow White or Cinderella than newer ones who give women more agency. I believe this is a topic that needs to be discussed more because it significantly affects girls and their identities. It is something that I feel most people disregard because they aren\u27t real princesses, but they are woven into almost everything
