A Pioneer of Women’s Liberation
Gabrielle Bonheur “Coco” Chanel is a creative icon who has freed the ‘new’ woman from the millennium of dictated dress codes, stereotypical behaviors and clichéd sexual and status simplification. The little black dress has become synonymous of sophistication, to the femininity she gave the character flavor of relaxation and empowered women with timeless clothing pieces and equipped them with inspiring pieces of jewelry, distinctive decorative accessories and bold fragrances. Since then, with the Chanel fashion women were able to step sovereignly and freely aside of male. Coco resisted the reservation of clothing and decorative pieces and fabrics as exclusively masculine in order to help revolutionary women on their journey to a more a more useful elegance and a more noticeable fatality. Without any doubt she succeeded. She gave the new woman what she could not have before: practicality, youthfulness, timelessness and freedom, which was often scandalous at the time of her creation. But it has paid off with a revolution in the clothing industry and, more importantly, with a historic step in liberating the modern woman
Child Exploitation in Albania: Revisiting the Concept of Human Security
The main purpose of this thesis is to shed light on the issues of children exploitation as being one of the most vulnerable groups in Albania. The phenomenon first appeared in the 1990s after the collapse of the communist regime and the transition to a democratic system. The political, economic, social and cultural changes in the country have influenced extensively children as being subject to various forms of exploitation.
Therefore, this thesis aims to examine and analyse the vulnerability of child exploitation in Albania; to provide a clarification on conceptual aspects of child exploitation based on international and national legal frameworks related to the issue; to identify some of the most prevalent forms of child exploitation in Albania. Another aim of this study is to explore factors that affect the phenomenon of child exploitation in the country. Additionally, the thesis will be examining the public policy dimension of child exploitation by pointing out the disparities that exist in the public institutions and legal framework. One last point of the study is to evaluate the gaps between the recorded and existing cases of child exploitation using the media, official national and international reports and other literature.
To examine the child exploitation issues, this thesis further poses these research questions: How a lack of clarity of child-related concepts and legal definitions confront the child exploitation issue? Why is there a big gap between the actual child exploitation cases and reported ones? Why are there disparities in handling child exploitation issues in Albania? How does the economic inequalities particularly poverty cause the phenomenon?
In order to achieve the abovementioned goals, and answer these research questions, this study has employed an elite survey questionnaire conducted with 452 individual elite respondents from central government, local government, NGOs, judiciary, academia and the media. Although the survey was the main instrument to find out and evaluate the child exploitation related issues and policies, this study has combined the quantitative and qualitative research approaches through data and statistics published by various stakeholders.
The study concludes that there is a need to reinforce the existing legal framework and the responsible public institutions should be improved, in cooperation with relevant national and international organizations and collaboration with the private sector and civil society as well as all other stakeholders in order to create appropriate policies and programs and implement efficiently.
Within this context, to achieve a successful implementation of policies, this thesis also proposes a new stronger, and more comprehensive concept, inspired by ‘human security’, as ‘child security’ which is expected to serve to eliminate confusion created by the vast diversity of the concepts on child exploitation phenomenon and to help the policymakers to be clear in comprehending the problem and producing efficient policies
Cournot-Nash Family Decision and Economic Growth in an Extended Solowian Model
The purpose of this paper is to study economic growth with family-based microeconomic foundation. It develops a neoclassical growth model of endogenous wealth accumulation and consumption of two-person families. Growth mechanism and economic structures are based on a generalized Solowian growth model with Zhang’s concept of disposable income and utility. Each spouse maximizes his/her utility function which is dependent on his/her egocentric utility function and the spouse’s egocentric utility function. One’s egocentric utility function is related to one’s private consumption of goods, consumption of family goods, and saving made out of one’s own disposable income. The couple’s decisions are interdependent and are modelled as a Cournot-Nash game. Our model endogenously determines intra-household wealth accumulation and resource allocation on consumption and saving. The paper make an integration of some basic ideas in neoclassical growth theory and family economics. We conduct comparative dynamic analyses to show how the movement of the economy is affected by different exogenous changes in gender relations, preferences, and technologies
John Dewey: A Look at His Contributions to Curriculum
This article provides a thorough analysis of John Dewey and his theory experimentalism. John Dewey was a leader in education and philosophy of his time. Still today his ideologies have a place in educational curriculums across the globe. John Dewey believed that students learn from human experiences. Furthermore, Dewey believed that student experiences shape the future decisions that a learner engages in. Although Dewey’s work faced scrutiny, Dewey’s thoughts are still relevant in education reform today. This article resurfaces the need for whole child research considerations and inclusive learner experiences like Dewey’s work many years ago when making educational decision and building curriculum that meet the needs of individuals to promote a positive global change
Should Title VII of the United States Code Prohibiting Sex Discrimination Be Based on Sexual Orientation: An Argument
The article considers the issue of what is sex and sexual orientation discrimination and should under the federal statute 2000 Esexual orientation be encompassed under the term sex. The statute has long been intrepreted as directed to physical sex and not read as including sex orientation as an aspect of sex. The article however traces and identifies a clear trend in the federal court system of the United States to interpreting and includng sexual orientation or homosexuality and lesbianism within this statute’s prohibition against traditional sex discrimimation. The author holds the view that homosexuality and sexual orientation should be given the same and equal protection as sex discrimimation in the federal courts of the United States and in time this statute will rightly be interpreted not only to include sex discriminataion as directed in its tradidtional understanding but be analayzed and interpreted to include protection against sexual orientation discrimination

This paper examines the international management of human resources. People have been one of the first challenges of any company wishing to work and develop an activity in other regions. The various movements of these human resources and competencies have implicated the phenomena of culture exchange worldwide. Intercultural conflicts, intercultural competencies, and intercultural management, are topics multinational companies did not face decades ago. Researchers worked on these differences and how humans can accept and cultivate the cultural differences in society. In recent decades, the global economic scene, and more particularly the European one, has increased international competition affecting both companies with an export profile and companies targeting the domestic market. International trade is a special case in general, it has the same principles as internal trade, but it suffers from certain changes related to phenomena caused by artificial and on the other hand natural barriers such as, distance, communication and interculturalism
