Sales of frozen yoghurt in winter in KiwiYo

    Get PDF
This research is conducted to develop marketing strategies to increase sales of frozen yoghurt by KiwiYo. This report could also be helpful for any other ice cream or frozen yoghurt shops because this study might provide innovative strategies that could solve the problem faced by retailers of decrease in sales during winter. This is a research topic that has not previously been extensively studied even though it has a potential market of 74.96 billion by 2024. It has the potential to grow even further while taking it to account that the market dips in the winter season. Finding a viable solution to keep up the sales during winter is a necessary yet challenging task. The data for the research was collected by customer survey and employee interview. The challenges faced in the ice cream/frozen yoghurt industry is due to climate changes, and the best solution is product diversification. In that way outlets will not suffer loss and can make up sales figures in summer without suffering in the winter

The main business of Mument, is to sell maternal and infant products. It is a one- stop store, where customers can find baby and children’s items from new-born until nearly 12 years old, Mument has a membership system, which means customer can deposit 500,thenenjoy15500, then enjoy 15% off for each single shopping time, or use a scorecard, with one point equal to 1. getting 15% off when they reach 300 points.. The aims of the research were to improve sales and selling skills, and to develop better marketing methods. The questions for Mument are how to gain better sales and select effective marketing methods. For this research, I have selected quantitative methods, and use a questionnaire to get the primary research results. 18% of customers find a long wait for their order unacceptable, 30% of customers think Mument sales-people lack professional information, and find having only one sales-person in the store at weekends insufficient. 64% customers know about mother and baby product information through friends, and 58% customers know about Mument from friends. Most member’s babies’ birthdays are in April, May, September and October. I recommend that the owner analyse what kind of products customers require frequently, and order these before they ask, have a longer training time to allow sales-persons to acquire professional information, and have sales promotions at specific times

Studying and improving internal controls at HPC

    Get PDF
Hamilton Pistol Club (HPC) is a club that focuses on shooting sports. The club comprises 13 committee members and around 350 non-committee members. The club committee is responsible for running the club, while the other members sometimes partake in the upkeep of the club by volunteering to do so. Auditors have for several years in a row pointed out the club’s weakness in internal controls, especially those related to cash handling. This study will therefore identify and suggest the implementation and improvement of the necessary controls. This is essential to the club, as it wants to grow and most importantly to avoid being defrauded or to mismanage funds. To study the controls, the committee was interviewed and members surveyed. The study has shown that the club needs to have a better method of recording its assets and a more modern way to do its accounting. The audit process is also responsible for the audit opinion received and it would help to have staff that are more skilled

The organisation has various services within it, but this research is concentrated on its cleaning service, to increase the operational efficiency of dry vacuuming by surveying thirty workers regarding organisation, and interviewing the supervisor. This involves both quantitative and qualitative research so is a mixed method. The results gave a new perspective to the research. Initially the research started with one problem and ended up dealing with three problems. The research findings are that there is a need • to increase the power and decrease the weight of vacuum machines. • to give regular follow up training for workers • to increase the number of permanent workers The recommendation to the company to increase operational efficiency on their dry vacuuming service are: first step, to give training to the employees. Second step, to buy new vacuum machines, which have good power and weigh less. Third step, the company should start recruiting new permanent workers. By doing all the steps the company can out-shine its competitors, and increase the operational efficiency in dry vacuuming services

A review of factors and activities contributing to proficient academic business researchers

The role of academic faculty is research, teaching, and service. In an environment that requires research, there appears to be little published discussion of the scholarly activity conducted by proficient researchers. There are few researched and published papers on researcher’s activities and habits to conduct research. The lack of research on the activities of researchers leads to the practice of research viewed as mysticism. An exhaustive search of research into the factors and scholarly activities of academic business researchers is presented in this paper to understand what researchers do to generate and produce research. The review is intended to capture current ‘best research practice’, as guidance for developing researchers who are themselves seeking to become established. A framework of factors and activities impacting on the tertiary institute researcher is developed, and journal papers are reviewed. The review indicates that researchers are influenced by daily activities, personal characteristics, career stages, and institutional environments. A number of environmental factors appear to affect productivity of researchers and personal qualities of researchers are also found to be important. Career, time allocation, and performance assessment impacts are discussed

    Tīhewa

Tīhewa Abstract Tīhewa is a work that examines Māori identity formation using historical foundations to inform contemporary narratives. Tīhewa symbolises the transition of moving from one state to another in terms of growth, development, in the pursuit of excellence. Tīhewa aims to take the audience on a journey of spiritual ascension, ancestral connection, and fulfilment of potential as you explore the spiritual, physical, intellectual and familial dimensions of the individual. A collaborative rangahau partnership between Jamie Lambert (Māori Achievement) & Kent MacPherson (School of Media Arts), this multi-media experience asks people to interrogate who they are, why they are that way, and whether they are living the life their potential seeks and their tīpuna (ancestors) aspire to. Key messages The key messages to be explored are based on the identity formation of the individual and being aware of key contributors and companions in each individual's pursuit of excellence. Curators Jamie Lambert – Ngāti Porou, Ngāpuhi, Ngāi Tūhoe Kent Macpherson Artists Erica Sinclair, Te Whānau a Apanui – Photography Daniel Moeke, Ngāti Porou – Graphic Design Jordan Foster Dr Jeremy Mayall  Tīhewa – Storyboard Concepts 1. Te uhi a te wāhi ngaro The concept is a POV video projected on to the ceiling of RAMP. The person in the video has an uhi and is implying the following concepts: a) Ancestors from above carving our future b) Ancestors helping us to realise our potential c) Use of uhi to depict carving/tārai to allow participants to realise our inner potential depicted as a moko. d) Ancestors having their say on our direction, who we are and why we are the way we are. 2. Te pātūwatawata a) Harry Potter concept: This component represents ancestors that have gone before us. This is symbolic of photos of deceased tūpuna that hang inside a wharenui/whare tūpuna. The photos must be stylised images so as not to be seen to being disrespectful in any way or be seen as a tapu thing to do. Ideally, these will be a combination of still and moving image. The photos should be still but timed to move and do particular actions (smile with pride at an action of their descendant, raise shoulders and hands to imply they don’t understand what their descendant is doing/disbelief, and slap their own forehead at pure disappointment at what their descendant is doing). Like the moving portraits on Harry Potter. b) Ngā poutokotangata This part is represented by 3x 1.5m pou which vary in states of completion. The first pou - 1x block of wood that someone has only just started on – representing an individual who is still learning and growing. The second pou – 1x half completed pou – representing an individual who although is still learning and developing has learnt alot so far. The third and final pou is close to completion/completed representing an individual who has been through their fair share of ups and downs but has come out on top. These are placed in between each of the tūpuna monitors. 3. Te roro o te whare The concept here is to visually represent a wharenui. I want to print a large photo similar to te whare kōkōrangi example on to one of the walls. The wall opposite is another photo representing the back of a wharenui. This is to show that the marae is a place of grounding as with te uhi a te wāhi ngaro and te pātūwatawata, the marae is another conecpt that shapes, develops, grows the identity of the individual. 4. Āpiti hono, tātai hono The concept for this component is represented visually using moko kauae images and their connections to key concepts in grounding identity. The moko kauae are connected by a life line down the middle of the moko and connecting it to a symbol of significance at the bottom of the image. This symbolises having strong connections to each of those concepts as a means for grounding and connections to strong identity. a) Hineahuone – first woman/the beginning Image connects moko to a stylised whare. This represents the beginning (first woman) and the marae as a communal point of knowing and being, and te whare tangata (birth & by default death), and knowing the marae keeps us a Māori connected and grounded. b) Materoa – prominence & significance Image connects moko to a hei tiki symbol. Materoa is a tūpuna rangatira. A hei tiki represents rangatira status. This represents the present being informed by the past. He kākano ahau i ruia mai i Rangiātea. I am a seed born of greatness. c) Hinenuitepō – new beginnings This represents the journey of Hineahuone in her identity development from Hinetītama, to Hineahuone and Hinenuitepō. This is symbolic of the end of one phase and the beginning of a new phase. The image connects to Tāne which was one source of her shame but also allowed her to progress and move forward toward a new beginning

    1. Introduction **** The current version (1.2) of the software can ‘hang’ for about 90 seconds when it starts up (it is testing if it can turn flight mode on/off). Please just give it time to do its thing. – working on a fix ***** The Cacophonometer consists of an Android App, Android phone and possibly an external microphone that together make regular audio recordings that can be uploaded to the Cacophony server for analysis. How you setup your Cacophonometer will depend on your particular scenario including: • Power supply - Mains power or solar panel? • Internet connection (Wifi, Mobile/SIM, none)? • Phone left in single location, or you are carrying it around with you (on a bush walk)? • Normal or test setup? • Using remote control software (AirDroid)

Matariki light boxes 2018: Aotea Square

    No full text
Stacey Tangaere and I were invited by Auckland live to develop a previous project 'Te Whāriki Kiokio' into four light boxes that were displayed in the Aotea Square in Auckland during Matariki 2018. Each box showcased a contemporary version of a traditional Māori tukutuku panel design along with a description of the design and its meaning in Māori culture. The work was visible during the day, but at night they were illuminated from the inside making them glow in the Aotea Square
