Offering a range of option courses can be problematic; it requires not only tutors with specialist knowledge but also suitable teaching spaces and sufficient numbers of students to make classes viable. One response – delivering a course simultaneously in the classroom and online – has proved successful

Preparing students for clinical placements: The student perspective
The aim of this New Zealand study was to assess the quality of a newly developed simulation programme from the perspective of students’ in relation to their learning and overall experience. On programme completion students responded to an evaluation form. A likert scale was used for the first five responses and selective coding was used to categorise responses from open ended questions. Results showed that students enjoyed the “hands on” practice in the programme most. Students believed the programme enhanced knowledge and supported learning. The programme was well received by students and should continue as part of the course
