Blood Sugar - Loading Docs 2016
Blood Sugar

Dahlia is scared of needles, but she needs insulin injected several times a day. She is not alone; New Zealand has one of the highest rates of paediatric diabetes in the world. Blood Sugar explores diabetes through the eyes of this active and boisterous pre-schooler and brings to life a child’s interpretation of what can be a life-threatening disease.

Waitangi Tribunal submitted evidence: Tom Hemopo #Wai Claim 2540
I submitted PhD research as evidence to present before the Waitangi Tribunal on July 25 2016. The evidence was presented in support of Tom Hemopo #WAI Claim 2540. The claim before the Waitangi Tribunal was that the NZ Crown and the Department of Corrections are not doing enough to stop the re offending rates of prisoners.
My evidence and personal history suggests that historical legislative policies that confiscated land, language, culture and identity also contribute to crime and prison statistics

The programme is inspired by the creative and popular success of event cinema and live performances of film scores, including the BFI Archive’s international tour, "The Hitchock 9".

“In this piece the audience is asked to place their head inside the sculpture in order to block the visual sense, and focus on the sense of hearing and smell. This project endeavours to produce an environment where the unique characteristics of scent perception are harnessed to communicate emotions and ideas.
