Band in a bubble: Don't go far off
Don't Go Far Off (song)
Collaborative Composition - Music and Lyrics.
BAND IN A BUBBLE is a real time observational workshop, where a group of musicians from around New Zealand gather together for the first time at Wintec in Hamilton to compose, record and perform a new collection of songs.
Inspired by a project that involved Australian band REGURGITATOR in Melbourne in 2004, this project is the brainchild of Wintec Music Department Lecturer, Kent Macpherson. The initial idea from was conceptually inspired by biospheres, and a desire to explore the juxtaposition between the insular artistic recording process, and the extroverted performer. To look through this process at how that might impact the creative mindset.
BAND IN A BUBBLE at SPARK festival involves a number of performers from around New Zealand including: Kent Macpherson, David Sidwell, John Egenes, Reuben Bradley, Jeremy Mayall, Megan Berry, Nick Braae and Brooke Baker, as the core performers. This collaboration will be the first for this ensemble, so this experience will also include a realtime exploration of how to approach a creative collaboration from the beginning.
The WIntec wharenui has been carefully selected as the venue for this project for a number of reasons. Most notably, the building has many windows which provide a certain ‘transparency’ to the actual process. The wharenui is also very central to the Wintec campus, both in a physical and spiritual sense.
Most involved are also educators, as well as musicians, so the inclusion of this workshop as part of the SPARK festival will ideally facilitate an educational experience for the students and wider community. The intention is to build an environment that is a creatively fulfilling one for the people directly involved
Glimpse - twenty-nine short preludes for piano, video and soundscape
A multimedia composition.
Twenty-nine short preludes for piano, video and soundscape.
'Glimpse' is a new multi-media artwork incorporating live music, projected video, and soundscape created by filmmaker Dan Inglis and composer Dr. Jeremy Mayall. This innovative new piece combining experimental film concepts and contemporary art music blurs the line between conventional cinema and pure concert music.
The work is a suite of 29 individual but intertwined audio-visual vignettes. Film footage appropriated from The British Council (British Council New Zealand) Film Collection of short documentaries is reedited, reimagined, and recontextualised by Inglis and paired with original piano preludes and soundscapes by Mayall creating a wholly new performance work where the music informs the image, and the image informs the music.

Functional movement, maturation and physical performance in youth female netball athletes
Introduction
The need to understand how maturation and functional movement relate to physical performance in female netballers is important to aid in the facilitation of their performance enhancement. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between movement competency, maturation and physical performance outcomes of youth female netball players.
Methods
A cross sectional sample of 8 female senior high school Netball players (Age: 16.4±0.6 y; maturity offset 3.9±0.5y) had their movement competency assessed utilising the Functional Movement Screen (FMS). Physical performance tests including speed, agility and both horizontal and vertical bilateral jumps were assessed utilising Netball New Zealand guidelines.
Results
FMS scores demonstrated a very large (r=0.75) and large (r=0.56) relationship with horizontal Jump and vertical jump respectively. FMS competency was moderately correlated with maturation (r=0.41) and locomotive tasks (r=-0.37 to -0.45).
There were trivial to moderate relationships between maturation and physical performance test outcomes. A very large correlation between maturation and vertical jump height (r=0.72) was identified.
Discussion
The findings demonstrate that aspects of physical performance may be influenced by functional movement ability and maturation.
Take Home Message
Consideration of strategies that increase functional movement competency may be advantageous in improving physical performance in youth female netball players
Accounts payable: Improving a system for better efficiency
The function of accounts payable has seen a great increase of information that the function has to process. This is true even for smaller organisations and research has proven that there is a great cost involved in processing an invoice.

Another finding of this research is that store image, word of mouth, as well as product quality, are the major determinant of the frequency that clients will visit a garment store.
As a result, the researcher provides some recommendations for all clothing retailers to improve sales performance; firstly, coach staff before they provide service to your clients. Secondly, offer some chairs and entertainment for consumer's partner. Thirdly, increase the investment for store's decoration and design a stunning shopping bag for customers to carry. Fourthly, offer clients coupon or discounts when they bring their friends to purchase products together. Finally, retailers should focus on the industry's movement and adjust rapidly
