L'Accordo CETA tra UE e Canada: sostenibilità e partecipazione

    Get PDF

Decision support system for evaluating the performance of modal interchange

    No full text
The tool represents the operationalization of an easy-to-use decision support system that allows decision-makers to rate and visualise the performance of a policy or a node (existing or future) against their attitude to boost an effective modal interchange. The tool is based on 52 Key Factors which have been weighted and grouped into 9 different domains, characterizing the modal interchange in urban contexts. The tool can support the analysis of current policies or node configuration, assessing the performance they have, identifying possible gaps and shortcomings that can lead to the definition of improvements to undertake, and forecast the performance of new interchange projects and/or policy changes, comparing different future scenarios. The tool has been developed in the framework of the Interreg Europe MATCJH-UP project

Sustainable business models for sustainable decision making: an application to reusing offshore gas platforms in the Adriatic Sea

    Get PDF
This paper suggests an empirical methodology to use theoretical Sustainable Business Models (SBMs) in making sustainable (i.e., participatory decisions involving economic, social and environmental features) and rational (i.e., informed and consistent) decisions with respect to what, who, where, when, and how to do. The case study, focused on alternative reuses of offshore gas platforms (i.e., a complicated case due to the absence of previous stakeholders’ experiences at local and national level), identified when (i.e., the end as opposed to the beginning of extraction activities) and where (i.e., the economic, social and environmental contexts of the Adriatic Sea in Abruzzo region, Italy). A questionnaire, submitted to stakeholders, produced the relative weights required by the tested SBM (i.e., a comprehensive model recently proposed by Lüdeke-Freund et al., 2018); it reached a conclusion about how (i.e., in favour of majority decisions as opposed to representative decisions); and it highlighted a sample size issue (i.e., solved with a 50% increase of stakeholders involved). In summary, the methodology suggested in this paper applied to a comprehensive SBM for a complicated case study produced an empirical sustainable decision which is consistent with relative weights expressed by stakeholders. However, this decision is theoretically wrong, since eco-design (empirically correlated with the proper institutional approach for who) should have been preferred to circular economy (empirically correlated with the proper cooperative approach for who). In other words, information gaps about what (mainly due to an overemphasis put on social features) must be solved with additional meetings between experts and stakeholders

Under the same (Chole)sky: DNK models, timing restrictions and recursive identification of monetary policy shocks

    Get PDF
Recent structural VAR studies of the monetary transmission mechanism have voiced concerns about the use of recursive identification schemes based on short-run exclusion restrictions. We trace out the effects on impulse propagation of informational constraints embodying classical Cholesky-timing restrictions in otherwise standard Dynamic New Keynesian (DNK) models. By reinforcing internal propagation mechanisms and enlarging a model's equilibrium state space, timing restrictions may produce a non-trivial moving average component of the equilibrium representation, making finite order VARs a poor approximation of true adjustment paths to monetary impulses, albeit correctly identified. They can even serve as an independent source of model-based nonfundamentalness, thereby hampering shock identification via VAR methods. This notwithstanding, restricted DNK models are shown to feature (i) invertible equilibrium representations for the observables and (ii) fast-converging VAR coefficient matrices under empirically tenable parameterizations. This alleviates concerns about identification and lag truncation bias: low-order Cholesky-VARs do well at uncovering the transmission of monetary impulses in a truly Cholesky world

    Insegnanti e pandemia

    Get PDF

This dataset contains the underlying data of the following article published in the journal Frontiers in Political Science: Tzankova, I., Albanesi, A., & Cicognani, E. (2021). Perceived school characteristics fostering civic engagement among adolescents in Italy. Frontiers in Political Science. https://doi.org/10.3389/fpos.2021.611824 The dataset consists of longitudinal quantitative data collected in Italy within Work Package 7 of the research project CATCH EyoU (Constructing AcTive CitizensHip with European YOUth: Policies, Practices, Challenges and Solutions). The sample consists of 685 adolescents between 14 and 19 years old. They participated in the study on a voluntary basis and filled paper and online questionnaires, after receiving an invitation from the researchers and a presentations of the aims of the study. The data was used in the analysis of how perceived democratic school characteristics (democratic school climate, student participation and critical reflection at school) could promote civic participation at a one-year interval through the increase of institutional trust, efficacy beliefs and political and social interest. In particular, the following variables are included: classroom, age, gender, school track, perceived income, democratic school climate, student participation at school, school quality of participation (critical reflection), political interest, political trust, civic participation. Names of items from wave 1 start with letter “A_”, while names of items from wave 2 start with letter “B_”. This data is made available for open access in compliance with H2020 Program regulation, following the guidelines stipulated by the Data Management Plan adopted by the CATCH-EyoU research project

Italienische Studierende sprechen über ihre Sprachenportraits

    Get PDF
This study has been carried out as part of the MIUR Excellence Project DIVE-IN Diversity & Inclusion, conducted by the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures, and Cultures - Alma Mater Studiorum - Università di Bologna (iniziativa Dipartimenti di Eccellenza MIUR [L. 232 del 01/12/2016]
