REMODEL. WP4. Vision-based Perception. T4_3. Cable Detection and Tracking. Segmentation of Deformable Linear Objects. v0

    No full text
The dataset contains the source code and model weights utilized for the experimental validation on segmentation of deformable linear objects, associated to a novel algorithm called Ariadne+. The proposed approach uses deep learning and standard computer vision techniques aiming at their reliable and time effective instance segmentation of wires. The source code comprises a deep convolutional neural network employed for generating a binary mask showing where wires are present in the input image, and graph theory applied to create the wire paths from the binary mask through an iterative approach maximizing the graph coverage. In addition, a B-Spline model of each instance is provided. The dataset is associated to the related publication: A. Caporali, R. Zanella, D. D. Greogrio and G. Palli, "Ariadne+: Deep Learning--Based Augmented Framework for the Instance Segmentation of Wires," in IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, vol. 18, no. 12, pp. 8607-8617, Dec. 2022, doi: 10.1109/TII.2022.3154477

    No full text
This dataset, produced in the framework of REMODEL project, contains the experimental data gathered during the validation of a system for manipulating a rope by means of a single-arm robot manipulator. Specifically, it contains 2 images, each reporting 2 sets of 5 experiments, that show the Deformable Linear Object (DLO) deformation steps performed by the robot using the method proposed in the publication: R. Zanella and G. Palli, "Robot Learning-Based Pipeline for Autonomous Reshaping of a Deformable Linear Object in Cluttered Backgrounds," in IEEE Access, vol. 9, pp. 138296-138306, 2021, doi: 10.1109/ACCESS.2021.3118209

Refining Organic Aquafeeds for Rainbow Trout, Gilthead Sea Bream and Meagre: Implication on Growth, Fish Health and Product Quality

The new Strategic Guidelines for the sustainable development of EU aquaculture adopted by the Commission in spring 2021 intend to further promote organic aquaculture as strategy to meet consumer demand for diversified high quality food produced in a way that respects the environment and ensures animal welfare. EU organic regulation (889/2008 and 848/2018) established that only fish meal derived from fish trimmings and from whole fish caught in fisheries certified as sustainable together with vegetable raw materials derived from organic plants can be used as the main protein sources for organic aquafeed. The difficult to reach certified ingredients, together with the high production costs, are the main problems of low production of organic EU fish. The needs for additional types of raw materials and reconsidered the sourcing of plant feed ingredients has been recognised as necessary to promote EU organic aquaculture. The aim of this study was to test the effects of certified organic novel raw materials (organic pea protein, organic yeast, organic seaweed) on growth, fish welfare and products quality of rainbow trout, gilthead sea bream and meagre

Les conceptions de l’autonomie / The conceptions of autonomy / Le concezioni di autonomia

    Get PDF
Autonomy has been broadly discussed in the face of the transformations in work processes, from the alleged overcoming of the Fordist model at the end of the twentieth century to the changes induced by information technology in the 2000s. Nevertheless, the widespread definitions of autonomy have generally been distant from the term’s etymological meaning, which indicates autonomy as the subject’s capability to produce her own rules and, therefore, to manage her own processes of action. This contribution discusses the various conceptions of autonomy, also in relation to the different interpretations of cooperation and the different ways of conceiving and planning the structuring of work processes. It is a discussion that clarifies and explains the extensive literature on the subject while maintaining its topicality

Biografie linguistiche. Esempi di linguistica applicata. M2

    Get PDF

Interlocking Directorates and Competition in Banking

    Get PDF
We study the effects on corporate loan rates of an unexpected change in the Italian legislation which forbade interlocking directorates between banks. Exploiting multiple firm-bank relationships to fully account for all unobserved heterogeneity, we find that prohibiting interlocks decreased the interest rates of previously interlocked banks by 16 basis points relative to other banks. The effect is stronger for high quality firms and for loans extended by interlocked banks with a large joint market share. Interest rates on loans from previously interlocked banks become more dispersed. Finally, firms borrowing more from previously interlocked banks expand investment, employment and sales

    Get PDF
TRANSLATING A DIFFERENT CHRONOTOPE (ON THE EXAMPLE OF A POLISH RENAISSANCE DRAMA) • The article aims to show how a text characterized by linguistic-spatial and linguistic-temporal remoteness can be made accessible to the receptive hic et nunc – the Italian reader of the 21st century – in a hermeneutic approach which makes it possible to understand and respect the diversity of chronotope. The text in question is the play The Dismissal of the Greek Envoys (1578) by Jan Kochanowski. Starting from some general problems – the metre, the style, the tone – that the translation of a text of this type poses, the translation strategies chosen are then explained and examples of their specific application are offered

LET’S GIVE SPACE TO TRANSLATOR STUDIES. THE LITERARY TRANSLATOR AS A RESEARCH SUBJECT AND OBJECT • The paper introduces us to an emerging field within Translation Studies, which includes research focused on the translational subject, as the term Translator Studies suggests. After a brief overview of the theoretical background in which this field of studies originates, the paper focuses on some of the research directions which a translator-centered approach to translation allows. Two key words are proposed to describe these directions: embodiment and microhistory
