Il cinquantenario della Convenzione UNESCO a tutela del patrimonio culturale (1972-2022): percorsi multidisciplinari
L’approccio ottimale a un bene culturale dovrebbe sempre tenere in considerazione tre aspetti principali, ovvero la tutela, la valorizzazione e l’attenzione alla fruizione. Per farlo, occorre saper intrecciare studi e azioni che spaziano dalla conservazione al restauro, dalla digitalizzazione alla comunicazione.
Il volume presenta pertanto tredici studi che, riuniti, dimostrano l’esigenza di affrontare l’argomento attraverso una pluralità di esperienze, di metodologie e di professionalità. In esso hanno grande rilievo le riflessioni sulla funzione identitaria dei patrimoni culturali, con particolare riguardo a quelli di interesse religioso, nonché il notevole contributo offerto dalle tecnologie, sia per quanto riguarda le strumentazioni, soprattutto digitali, indispensabili a rendere effettiva la collaborazione tra ricercatori e istituzioni, sia per quanto riguarda il versante conservativo e di restauro.
Ricca di analisi, ricerche e proposte innovative, questa raccolta di saggi non manca di evidenziare la necessità di una maggiore consapevolezza metodologica e di un supporto procedurale e organizzativo a vantaggio delle istituzioni che si occupano di beni culturali, tanto a livello locale quanto a livello internazionale
Nano-ImmunoEra. WP2 T2.1. ECL from beads on lasered SPCE
This folder stores data related to Task 2.1 ECL from beads on lasered SPCE within Work Package 2 Production Characterization Materials for Improved ECL-based Biosensing, in the NanoimmunoEra Horizon 2020 project. The data includes ECL (Electrochemiluminescence) images and quantitative ECL results about 2.8 micrometer streptavidin-coated magnetic beads. We reported here an innovative approach to enhancing the ECL properties of screen-printed carbon electrodes (SPCEs) through post-fabrication CO2 laser treatment. By examining three different carbon paste-based electrodes with advanced ECL microscopy, we demonstrate that laser treatment at low energy doses (7–12 mJ/cm²) effectively improves the electrochemical properties of the material by removing surface binders and impurities. Quantitative analysis with a photomultiplier tube (PMT) revealed that GST electrodes can sensitively detect biomarkers with a limit of detection (LOD) of approximately 11 antibodies/µm². These findings underscore the potential of laser-treated GST electrodes for high-sensitivity ECL immunoassays and biosensing applications

The dataset is related a novel Human-Robot interface (HRi) based on self-supervised regression of sEMG signals, combining Non-Negative Matrix Factorization (NMF) with Deep Neural Networks (DNN) in order to both avoid explicit labeling procedures and have powerful nonlinear fitting capabilities. Experiments involving 10 healthy subjects were carried out assessing real-time control of a wearable anthropomorphic robot hand. Data and code to analyse the extent of the hip bone sexual dimorphism in two Italian coeval modern skeletal samples
This dataset contains data from the analisys of 280 coxal bones of two coeval Italian samples from Bologna and Sassari, part of a large modern (19th-20th c.) documented human osteological collections (DHOCs) housed at the University of Bologna. Specifically, the sample is composed of 70 individuals (36 males and 34 females) coming from the Certosa Cemetery of Bologna (Emilia Romagna, Northern Italy) and 70 individuals (36 males and 34 females) from the Sassari cemetery (Sardinia). All individuals composing the sample are adults. The samples were analysed to evaluate sexual dimorphism within and between the Bologna and Sassari groups, and comparing the extent of sexual dimorphism between these samples by using nineteen metric variables of the coxal bone. This dataset contains the characteristics of two synthetic cohorts of proximal femurs constructed via sampling a statistical anatomy atlas. These cohorts were used to simulate two In Silico Clinical Trial designed to replicate the placebo arm of as many concluded clinical trials described in literature (i.e. the LIFT study on teriparatide and FREEDOM study on Denosumab) to validate model’s ability to predict population-specific fracture incidence without treatment. Results in terms of fracture incidence are reported for each cohort
Project Apiculture MIPAAF 2021. Data about Trace elements in Italian honeybees and wild plants
The dataset contains the data on the content of three trace elements (copper, zinc, and iron) in samples of honeybees and wild plants collected from 6 farms. The biological samples were collected during the productive season in two periods of the year (T1=April 2023 and T2=July 2023, except for one farm (Farm3 ), for which only the first sampling is present) from 6 farms located in different Italian regions: one from Emilia-Romagna (Farm1), one from Veneto (farm2), one from Friuli Venezia Giulia (Farm6), and three from Abruzzo (Farm3, Farm4, and Farm5). Of the 6 farms, three were conventionally managed (Farm2, Farm4, and Farm6), while the others were organic (Farm1, Farm3, and Farm5). The farms were also grouped into small (Farm1 and Farm2), medium (Farm3 and Farm4), and large (Farm5 and Farm6) according to the number of hives. Trace elements were analysed using atomic absorption spectrometry after acid digestion of the samples
Dataset of the paper "A block-based numerical strategy for modeling the dynamic out-of-plane behavior of unreinforced brick masonry walls"
This dataset, developed in the framework of the H2020 HOLAHERIS project, contains results data related to a damaging block-based model extended to dynamic simulations of unreinforced brick masonry walls. Dynamic simulations are performed using a generalized HHT-α direct integration implicit solver and by implementing Rayleigh damping in the bulk. Incremental dynamic experiments performed on full-scale walls are simulated and good agreement is observed between numerical and experimental results. Maximum accelerations, displacements and cumulative energy dissipation at each loading run, as well as acceleration time-histories, obtained numerically are collected herein to provide data for future comparisons

The Philosophy Department of the University of Bologna has produced a series of podcasts (FilCast - Idee Sbagliate) that explore themes and problems of philosophical relevance through a multiplicity of voices and perspectives. Specifically, the aim of the podcasts is to show how ambiguous ideas are controversial, convincing and productive from certain points of view, problematic and harmful from others. The Horizon Europe ERC “UseFool” Project contributed with the episode “Idea Sbagliata: Caccia al tesoro”, devoted to treasure hunting and its social and material implications in the Arabo-Islamic middle age. Fluorescent Neuronal Cells v2
Fluorescent Neuronal Cells v2 is a collection of fluorescence microscopy images and the corresponding ground-truth annotations, designed to foster innovative research in the domains of Life Science and Deep Learning.
This dataset encompasses three image collections wherein rodent neuronal cell nuclei and cytoplasm are stained with diverse markers to highlight their anatomical or functional characteristics.
Specifically, we release 1874 high-resolution images alongside 750 corresponding ground-truth annotations for several learning tasks, including semantic segmentation, object detection and counting.
The contribution is two-fold.
First, thanks to the variety of annotations and their accessible formats, we envision our work would facilitate methodological advancements in computer vision approaches for segmentation, detection, feature learning, unsupervised and self-supervised learning, transfer learning, and related areas.
Second, by enabling extensive exploration and benchmarking, we hope Fluorescent Neuronal Cells v2 would catalyze breakthroughs in fluorescence microscopy analysis and promote cutting-edge discoveries in life sciences.
