FurNAP: Iron-dependent chromatin conformation by the Ferric Uptake Regulator

    No full text
This dataset contains raw and analyzed data for the DNase Footprinting, RT-qPCR, chromatin conformation capture (3C) and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) experiments demonstrating the involvement of the Fur regulator in the iron-mediated control of Helicobacter pylori chromatin contacts. The dataset supports evidence that an orthologue of the widespread Fur regulator family behaves like an iron-dependent Nulecoid Associated Protein (NAP) to dynamically shape the H. pylori chromatin in response to iron repletion. This behavior is consistent with the current holo-Fur DNA binding model, in which the iron co-factor stimulates Fur multimerization and DNA binding. The data strengthen the emerging picture that DNA binding sites of multimeric transcription factors, even when not directly involved in gene regulation, may encompass structural roles in bacterial nucleoid organization. Moreover, as many Fur orthologues seem to exhibit features typical of NAPs, the data also suggest that metal-dependent chromatin interactions may be widespread in the bacterial domain, with important implications in the pathobiology of infectious microorganisms, as iron homeostasis and sequestration play an important role in host-pathogen interaction and defense mechanisms

MAR2PROTECT. Data about Development and validation of an adsorption process for phosphate removal and recovery from municipal wastewater based on hydrotalcite-related materials

    No full text
In the current international context characterized by the tendency to stricter limits for phosphorous (P) concentration in treated wastewater and a strong drive towards phosphate recovery, it is crucial to develop cost-effective technologies to remove and recover phosphate from municipal wastewater (MWW). This dataset, produced in the framework of the Horizon Europe “MAR2PROTECT” project, contains data related to the screening of the phosphate adsorption performances of 9 sorbents including several hydrotalcites. The studied sorbents were: “Pural 70” and “Pural 50”, provided by Sasol, in their commercial form and after calcination at 500 °C for 5 h (“calcined Pural 70” and “calcined Pural 50”); “calcined Pural 70” after impregnation with Fe2O3 (“Calcined Pural 70 + Fe2O3”); “FerroSorp® Plus”; the commercial “HAIX LayneRT”; “Pyroaurite”, a hydrotalcite that has iron as constituent synthesized internally at the University of Bologna, before and after calcination (“calcined Pyroaurite”). The screening was conducted with actual MWW and with a saline MWW deriving from a hotspot of seawater intrusion and led to the selection of calcined Pyroaurite - an innovative material composed of mixed Mg/Fe oxides - as the best-performing sorbent. In particular, the dataset includes data about the physical-chemical properties of the effluents and sorbents used in the tests and data about isotherms and continuous-flow adsorption/desorption tests conducted with the studied sorbents, including the outcomes of some model simulations of the proposed process

Dataset of the paper "Rocking block simulation based on numerical dissipation"

    No full text
This dataset, developed as part of the Horizon 2020 HOLAHERIS project, contains data, models and results related to a computational approach based on numerical dissipation proposed to simulate rocking blocks. According to this approach, the numerical dissipation is governed by the time step. The data resulting from a broad numerical campaign conducted to define a regression law in analytic form for the setting of the time step are here collected. In addition, the results of simulations of state-of-the-art experimental campaigns are also collected in terms of normalized rocking angle time histories and cumulative distribution functions of the maximum normalized rocking angle

LITIAS. Lo italiano en territorios hispanófonos

    Get PDF

IDENTITIES. Transcripts from two study groups on the role of complexity and uncertainty in learning about climate change in an interdisciplinary contexts

    Get PDF
The data presented have been collected in the framework of the Erasmus+ “IDENTITIES” project. In the project, a framework for interdisciplinarity was designed to innovate pre-service teachers (PSTs) education. The dataset contains transcripts from two sessions of the second Summer School held within the project at the University of Barcelona from June 27th to July 1st 2022. The Summer School was attended by PreService Teachers from the universities who participated in the IDENTITIES project (University of Barcelona, University of Bologna, University of Crete, University of Parma and University of Montpellier). All the PSTs were Master Students enrolled in a course for PSTs from Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science curricula. The Summer School proposed two different types of topics: advanced STEM topics (“Climate Change” and “Modelling COVID”) and interdisciplinary curricular topics (“Cryptography” and “Linguistic and Epistemologic aspects of Interdisciplinarity”). The dataset contains the anonymous transcriptions of the discussions that 14 PSTs had while conducting the activities presented in the Climate Change module. In particular the data were collected during the third and fourth part of the module, where PSTs were asked to reflect on the concepts of complexity and to work with the different types of uncertainties. The data has been recorded, transcribed, and then transformed into an xlsx file for readability

L'agorà di Pasolini: appelli all'UNESCO, marginalità dei luoghi, giornalismo

    Get PDF
