CATCH-EyoU. Processes in Youth’s Construction of Active EU Citizenship. Italian Wave 1 Questionnaires. EXTRACT. Global Citizenship
This dataset contains the underlying data of the following article published in the Journal TPM- Testing, Psychometrics, Methodology in Applied Psychology:
Albanesi, C., Guarino, A., Zani, B., Cicognani, E., Tzankova, I., (in press), Civic engagement in a changing world. Does it contribute to the development of global citizenship?,TPM- Testing, Psychometrics, Methodology in Applied Psychology
The dataset consists of correlational quantitative data collected in Italy within Work Package 7 of the research project CATCH EyoU (Constructing AcTive CitizensHip with European YOUth: Policies, Practices, Challenges and Solutions). The sample consists of 1732 Italian adolescents and young adults between 15 and 30 years old. They participated in the study on a voluntary basis and filled paper and online questionnaires, after receiving an invitation from the researchers and a presentation of the aims of the study. The data was used in the analysis of the relationship between different forms of participation, mobility, and dimensions of global citizenship and it allows its replication. In particular, the following variables are included: age, age group (adolescent vs. young adults), gender, family income, migrant background, mobility, civic values, democratic values, empowerment, tolerance toward migrants, tolerance toward refugees, membership in organizations, social trust, self and collective political efficacy, participation (online, civic, conventional political and protest)
Scientifico! like Dad: On the Intergenerational Transmission of STEM Education in Italy
We provide novel evidence on the existence and the extent of intergenerational transmission of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education using a recent large administrative dataset of Italian graduates obtained from the Almalaurea data. Parental influence on two STEM educational outcomes (high school and university degree completion) is strong and, net of student's time-invariant unobserved heterogeneity, proves to be stronger at the stage of the educational career closer to labour market entry. At this stage, the influence of fathers outweighs the one of mothers and is larger for sons than for daughters. The documented STEM intergenerational transmission is not driven by liberal profession of parents for most of STEM fields, while it is for some non-STEM fields (economic and legal studies), consistently with the presence of entry barriers in some professions
PERCEIVE project - Deliverable D2.5 “Report on the results of the convergence analysis of EU citizens' identification with the EU project”
Does the perception of the EU vary across countries and regions? To what extent
has the support for European integration and citizens’ attitudes towards the EU in
regions with different socio-economic contexts evolved? Are they affected by the
Cohesion Policy? More specifically, does the perception of the EU vary with the
intensity of the policy in the region and with the effectiveness in which the funds
allocated are finally spent? Is there a relationship between the deviation in funds’
allocations and actual expenditures, and the socio-economic characteristics of the
region? Finally, are citizens in growing and, particularly, converging regions more
prone to support the European project and have positive attitudes towards the
EU

Literature Review on Transitions across Early Childhood and Compulsory School Settings in Europe
The aim of this literature review, conducted as part of the START project, is to deepen the understanding of transitions across ECEC settings – and between these and CSE settings – by critically analysing the findings of empirical studies carried out in EU Member States over the last decade. In conducting this review, a systematic approach has been adopted in order to provide a comprehensive overview of existing research: both English language studies and studies written in the languages spoken in the countries participating to the project (Italian, Dutch and Slovenian) were included. Compared to literature reviews previously published on this topic (Dockett & Perry, 2013; Peters, 2010), the added value of the literature review conducted within the START project is the specific focus on EU-based research and the inclusion of studies published within edited books and monographies. Up to date, existing reviews on transition practices and approaches have included mostly findings derived from the analysis of publications retrieved through international research databases or indexed journals. This might imply that the findings derived from studies published within monographs, edited books and national scientific journals – which are the most typical forms of research dissemination in the EU landscape – tend to be overlooked and left at the margin of mainstream international debates. By shedding light on the findings derived from such publication sources, this literature review offers valuable insights in terms of investigating the multiple understandings and approaches underlying transition practices across a variety of policy contexts, educational systems and pedagogical traditions typical of EU Member States
PERCEIVE. WP2. Evaluation of EU citizens' perception of the EU project. Mapping Citizens’ Identification with EU
This data set contains data for estimating the “Ident_EU” probabilistic model used to classify EU citizens and regions according to their different patterns of identification with EU during PERCEIVE project. The model specification and its results are described in Deliverable D2.4 from the PERCEIVE project (http://doi.org/10.6092/unibo/amsacta/6113) and in Brasili, Calia and Monasterolo (2019, https://doi.org/10.1111/rsp3.12227).
The file PERCEIVE_WP2_Ident_EU_DATA.csv includes as input variables a set of indicators and individual characteristics derived from the responses to the questions in the PERCEIVE Survey (http://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.3346047), as well as regional characteristics derived from the PERCEIVE regional panel dataset (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.3346052). It contains also the output variables produced by model estimation: the membership’s probabilities and the clusters’ classification for individuals and regions.
The file PERCEIVE_WP2_Ident_EU_LG_syntax.txt contains the commands (syntax model) that can be used for the specification of the “Ident_EU” model with the software used for the analysis, Latent GOLD®

Proceedings SIAMOC 2019
The dictionaries published by Garzanti under the direction of Livio Garzanti between 1952 and 1995 are part of an ambitious project aimed at disseminating knowledge. This includes a series of works belonging to the section Grandi Opere, which were inspired by Anglo-Saxon publishing models. The first edition of the major French-Italian bilingual dictionary (1966) represents a new editorial product, which leaves behind the past era of repertoires such as the Dizionario di francese by Carlo Boselli, already included in the Treves catalogue and republished by Aldo Garzanti. The 1966 edition’s numerous reprints testify to its success, which will be echoed by the brand even in the transition to other publishing houses. This contribution investigates the peculiar relationship between norm and usage, that is that balance between prescription in production and description in reception constantly sought in the teaching of foreign languages. In this sense, the French-Italian dictionaries which were published by Garzanti when French moved from playing a predominant to a minor role after English are concerned with the publishing house’s attention to linguistic varieties nourished by the force of usage within increasingly wider social and geographical contexts
