Human pose completion in partial body camera shots
Many actual images contain partial body camera shots, in which a significant part of the body is not visible. This issue is especially prevalent in film images, where less than 10% are full-body shots. Most 2D human pose estimation methods return incomplete poses when applied to partial body images. This lack of completeness becomes a problem in some situations, for example, when the 2D pose is converted to a 3D pose by a two-stage 3D human pose estimation method since most of these methods require a complete pose to work. This article proposes a new technique, called CompletePose, consisting of completing the missing keypoints when 2D human pose estimation methods are applied to images with partial body camera shots. A Conditional Generative Adversarial Network is used to obtain a complete and plausible pose, realistic enough to predict a 3D pose with a two-stage 3D human pose estimation method. A complete empirical validation has been carried out with the Human3.6 M dataset and a new dataset, called CHARADE, specially built and made public for reproducibility and benchmarking for this research. Quantitative evaluation employing the Fréchet distance shows that the approach manages to approximate the actual data distribution. The qualitative evaluation shows that the completed poses enable obtaining plausible 3D poses from images previously intractable. This work is partially supported by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation under contracts PID2019-107255GB, PLEC2021-007850 and RTI2018-095232-B-C21, and by the SGR programme of the Catalan Government under contracts 2021-SGR00478, 2017-SGR-1414 and 2017-SGR-1742.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft

Addressing the compositional character of international humanitarian aid delivery in humanitarian hubs: Case applied to CLRAH
The Regional Logistics Centre for Humanitarian Assistance (CLRAH, for its acronym in Spanish), located in Panama, is the first humanitarian hub dedicated to delivering international humanitarian aid to Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). This study analyses the trends in the delivery of humanitarian assistance from CLRAH between 2017 and 2021. A distinguishing feature of humanitarian aid delivery is the compositional nature of its indicators, which corresponds to the multidimensionality of the strategies adopted to ensure the timely delivery of aid. Within this framework, additive log-ratio, centered log-ratio, and isometric log-ratio transformations were used to assess humanitarian aid delivery from a compositional approach. The findings highlight the growing importance of health supplies and shelter in recent years, as well as the role of air and maritime transport in facilitating humanitarian aid delivery. Cuba, Venezuela, and Haiti stand out among the most aided countries over the analysed period. Additionally, insecurity and corruption were identified as two social problems in recipient countries that should be taken into account in the delivery of humanitarian aid from the CLRAH to LAC. Compositional Data Analysis proves more effective in managing the compositional indicators of CLRAH humanitarian aid delivery than traditional raw data modeling techniques. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study to address the importance of managing indicators in a humanitarian centre using the Compositional Data Analysis approachThis work was supported by the Ibero-American Programme of Science and Technology for Development (CYTED), through the Network for the Construction and Evaluation of Innovative Capacities in the Academic Sector (CECIAC)Postprint (published version
D4.2 Operational guide for maintaining good indoor air quality and thermal comfort with natural ventilation in educational buildings
This document presents the natural ventilation operational guide for educational buildings developed by the IAQ4EDU project. Most educational buildings are completely naturally ventilated. This challenges the indoor environmental quality management of schools in terms of balancing the needs of students for indoor air quality and thermal comfort. This guide presents the conditions and methods of using natural ventilation strategies to maintain good air quality and thermal comfort in classrooms. Using the example of Catalonia (Spain), a general ventilation protocol was developed to guide teachers in implementing natural ventilation in different seasons to ensure air quality during school hours. Relevant users can refer to the case in this practical guide to develop ventilation protocols based on the local climate and school conditions.

Architectural Barriers and Drought
"Looking at the age pyramid of the Zlotego Wieku housing state, it becomes clear that a significant part of the residents are old people. The peaceful and quiet neighbourhood of Mistrzejowice is surrounded by greenery. Becoming a welcoming place to retire. This greenery was a key point during the design of the place. All the people living here are aware of the wealth of these surroundings that are now threatened by the increase in car use and the need for parking places. They are coming together to defend it and ensure it remains as it is now.
