Developing a human tendon-on-a-chip with vascular flow to model fibrotic tendon injury

    No full text
Slide deck presented at the 2024 National Diversity in STEM Conference. My presentation focuses on the development of a human tendon-on-a-chip with vascular flow to model fibrotic tendon injury. Tendon injury often leads to chronic pain and time away from everyday activities, as there are no therapies that fully regenerate tendon structure. However, it has been difficult to study the processes underlying tendon repair due to a lack of relevant disease models. My presentation describes the development of a microfluidic device that enables us to study key inflammatory and cellular interactions involved in tendon injury. </p
