Annual report [1884-1900] : Preservation Lab Treatment Report
This is part of a set of volumes that are heavily used at the Winkler center. Two volumes were received by the Preservation Lab in 2023 for leather repair and are being treated in the lab simultaneously. Chris Voynovich is treating this volume that dates to 1884‐1900 in conjunction with treatment and instruction by Ashleigh Ferguson Schieszer who is treating the volume dating to 1901‐1911. This is a treatment partially completed by Gabrielle Fox. No photographic records were recovered. Handwritten notes from Gabrielle Fox indicate the original cover was once full leather. Retained from the original cover are the gold stamped title and date from the spine. This is a full black leather photograph album that is suffering from brittle leather showing advanced signs of red rot, brittle album leaves, and overall dirt accumulation. Solubility tests within the hand coloring in the photographs resulted in positives for water solubility.
