Group 3: Scorpio Letters to Up the Down Staircase : Preservation Lab Treatment Report
This is a collection of photographs used to promote Hollywood motion pictures. The movie stills were brought to the Preservation Lab as an ongoing housing project. File cabinets with promotional movie stills are not being retained, so the movie stills need to be rehoused for storage on shelving. There is no rush deadline for rehousing. An alphabetical list has been created to inventory the collection, however, they are currently uncatalogued

The book is a tightback quarter leather binding with embossed book cloth covering the boards and spine. The textblock consists of wove paper and black printer’s ink. The textblock is sewn on recessed cords. The upper board is fully detached from the book, and the lower board remains attached at the cords. The covering cloth is slightly abraded at the corners. The remaining spine fragments are brittle and acidic. The sewing remains intact. There is tideline staining and cockling throughout the textblock from previous water damage. This is the Facsimile of the palimpsest of "Gaii Institvtiones" on which are written "S. Hieronymi Epistolæ,". This book belongs to the John Miller Burnam Classics Library, and it is the only copy in the entire library collection.
This is a quarter leather binding with the boards covered with a wood grain thin paper. The leather spine has four false raised bands, and it is blind tooled with single lines along the false raised bands. The title is stamped in gold on the spine and there are gold stamped clovers in between each false raised bands. M. Teresa Award – Statue Award : Preservation Lab Treatment Report
This is a bronze statue of a female figure with a small child, with a solid marble (?) stone base. It stands approximately 17 inches tall and 8 inches wide. Because of the nature of the solid marble and the bronze statue this award is heavy. This statue is an award, awarded to Dr. Albert Sabin, who developed the oral polio vaccine. This item belongs to the Sabin Archives, one of the archival collections at the Winkler Center

This is a first edition medical text written in Latin, composed by Albrecht von Haller who was an 18th century Swiss scientist. The text is likely bound in its original binding. This item was featured as part of the 2017 UCL inaugural Adopt‐A‐Book program. At the time, the resource was not adopted but has since become a priority for conservation treatment. This item is an advertisement card for the Bucket Pump Co. which was used at the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair to attract visitors to an exhibit of their water pump/purifier. The card is made of a thick, smooth, wove paper that features printed color imagery of the pump/purifier, as well as printed text that gives information about the company, product, and exhibit. The card was arrived at the lab in a hard plastic u-sleeve. The advertisement card came to the lab to receive matting and long-term storage
