No full textDie Ausarbeitung untersucht den Geschlechtsbegriff im Allgemeinen Gleichbehandlungsgesetz (AGG) und beginnt mit einer gesetzesinternen Analyse gemäß der subjektiven Theorie. Im Anschluss wird der Begriff systematisch verfassungsrechtlich beleuchtet, insbesondere im Lichte der Entscheidung des Bundesverfassungsgerichts (BVerfG) vom 10.10.2017 (1 BvR 2019/16). Dabei wird das dogmatische Geschlechtsverständnis des BVerfG hermeneutisch hinterfragt und ein Bezug zur US-amerikanischen Verfassungsinterpretation hergestellt. Danach wird der unionsrechtliche Geschlechtsbegriff untersucht, der – ähnlich wie in Art. 3 GG – Gleichberechtigung zwischen Männern und Frauen betont.
Die verfassungsrechtliche Deutung des Geschlechtsbegriffs wird auf das AGG übertragen. Lösungsansätze zur verfassungskonformen Rechtsfortbildung und Praxisfragen wie geschlechtsneutrale Stellenausschreibungen oder Kommunikation im Arbeitsrecht werden erörtert. Abschließend erfolgt eine Gesamtbewertung und ein Ausblick auf das geplante Selbstbestimmungsgesetz, mit Blick auf unionsrechtliche Vorgaben und den Gleichstellungsauftrag nach Art. 3 Abs. 2 GG

Die Anwendung dieses Ansatzes wird für zahlreiche Unterthemen skizziert und diskutiert, es werden allerdings auch mögliche Grenzen benannt.A liberal approach to dealing with the current coronavirus pandemic is presented, which relies more on individual decisions and personal responsibility than on state requirements and coercion that are neither particularly effective nor efficient. Molecular identification of polymorphic transposable elements in populations of the invasive ant Cardiocondyla obscurior
No full textTransposable elements (TEs) are found in virtually every eukaryotic genome and are important for generating de novo genetic variation. However, outside of costly and time-consuming whole-genome sequencing approaches, the set of available methods to study TE polymorphisms in non-model species is very limited. The Transposon Display (TD) is a simple yet effective technique to characterize polymorphisms across samples by identifying amplified fragment length polymorphisms using primers targeting specific TE families. So far, this technique has almost exclusively been used in plants. Here, we present an optimized TD protocol for insect species with small genomes such as ants (ca. 200–600 Mb). We characterized TE polymorphisms between two distinct genetic lineages of the invasive ant 'Cardiocondyla obscurior', as well as between neighboring populations of the New World lineage. We found active LTR/Ty3 retrotransposons, that contributed to the genetic diversification of populations in this species
Philo of Alexandria and Philosophical Discourse
No full textGreek authors likened "philosophical discourse" in the Hellenistic and Roman eras to an orchard. Logic, physics, and ethics served as the orchard walls, the trees, and the fruit of this enterprise. In a similar manner, this collection of essays, written by an international group of scholars and devoted to Philo of Alexandria's fashioning of a new Jewish philosophical discourse, harvests the fruits of many disciplines – including the study of Ancient Judaism and History of Religions, Ancient Philosophy, and the Classics – and brings them to bear on one of the Roman period's most prolific and creative Jewish thinkers and public figures. Essays treat Philo’s relationship to the varied schools of philosophy: Socratic thought, Pyrrhonism, Epicureanism, Pythagoreism, Stoicism, and Middle Platonism all played a role in the seedbed of Philo’s orchard. The volume also includes a new catalogue of Philo’s library and a study of Philo’s reception in Christian philosophical discourse.Griechische Autoren verglichen den "philosophischen Diskurs" in der hellenistischen und römischen Epoche mit einem Obstgarten. Logik, Physik und Ethik waren die Gartenmauern, Bäume und Früchte dieses Vorhabens. In dieser Aufsatzsammlung, die von einer internationalen Gruppe von Wissenschaftler*innen verfasst wurde und sich mit Philo von Alexandria und seiner Entwicklung eines neuen jüdischen philosophischen Diskurses befasst, werden die Früchte zahlreicher Disziplinen geerntet – darunter antike Judaistik, Religionsgeschichte, Philosophie der Antike und klassische Philologie – und auf einen der produktivsten und kreativsten jüdischen Denker und Persönlichkeiten des öffentlichen Lebens der römischen Epoche übertragen. Short-term-outcomes of idiopathic epiretinal membranes treated with pars-planavitrectomy – examination of visual function and OCT-morphology
No full textBackground: Epiretinal membranes (ERM) represent one of the most common findings in retinal examination. Structural changes of the retinal layers in patients with ERM can be visualized and classified using OCT. The purpose of this study is to evaluate structural and functional changes related to surgical treatment of ERM. Methods: Monocentric retrospective analysis of 92 patients who underwent 23-gauge-pars plana vitrectomy (ppV) combined with cataract surgery for idiopathic ERM from 2015 to 2020. Visual acuity was determined directly preoperatively, at four weeks and three months postoperatively. Disease stage and tomographic biomarkers related to ERM were assessed in OCT imaging. Results: 92 eyes of 92 patients were included. At the time of surgery, the mean patient age was 71 years. Visual acuity improved significantly by 2 lines postoperatively, on average from LogMar 0.4 to 0.2 (p < 0.001). Disease stage regressed from stage 3 to stage 2 postoperatively (p < 0.001). No patient had stage 4 postoperatively (n = 0). In the presence of preoperative intraretinal fluid, mean retinal thickness was 488 μm and decreased to 392 μm postoperatively (n = 32; p < 0.001). Preoperative presence of a Cotton Ball Sign (n = 30) was associated with better visual acuity (p = 0.009). This was also visible in patients with preoperative vitreomacular traction syndrome (p < 0.001). The presence of preoperative intraretinal fluid showed a tendency towards better disease staging after surgery (p = 0.080). Conclusion: Surgery was able to achieve visual improvement and morphological regression of the preoperative OCT findings related to ERM. ppV led to a reduction in retinal thickness and disease stage. The presence of the Cotton Ball Sign and vitreomacular traction was associated with better visual acuity in the follow-up period. In our cohort the preoperative presence of intraretinal fluid showed a tendency for better postoperative disease staging

No full textIn dieser Thesis werden Invarianten des Modulraum komplexer Kurven, welche intersection numbers genannt werden, mit dem quartischen Kontsevich-Modell sowie dem LSZ-Modell in Verbindung gesetzt. Darüber hinaus wird logarithmische Konkavität in dem Modulraum komplexer Kurven mithilfe der kombinatorischen Ehrhart Theorie identifiziert. Im Rahmen des universellen Prinzips der Topologischen Rekursion werden explizite Ausdrücke für Korrelationsfunktionen niedrigen topologischen Typs gefunden, welche deren Abhängigkeit zu den Schnittzahlen beschreiben. Mithilfe der Ehrhart Theorie aus der Kombinatorik, welche die Zählung von Gitterpunkten in Polytopen beschreibt, werden in einem eingeschränkten Rahmen werden natürliche Fragen bezüglich der zu Schnittzahlen korrespondieren den Polytopklassen angegangen. Dabei wird nicht nur eine Interpretation der charakterisierenden Daten durch so genannte konsekutiv-geordnete Partitionsfolgen, sondern auch Muster wie logarithmische Konkavität entdeckt.In this thesis, invariants of the moduli space of complex curves, known as intersection numbers, are related to the quartic Kontsevich model and the LSZ model. Moreover, logarithmic concavity is identified on the moduli space of complex curves using combinatorial Ehrhart theory. Within the universal framework of topological recursion, explicit expressions for correlation functions of low topological types are derived, describing their dependence on intersection numbers. Using Ehrhart theory, which deals with counting lattice points in polytopes, natural questions regarding the polytope classes corresponding to intersection numbers are addressed within a restricted framework. This approach not only provides an interpretation of the characteristic data through so-called order-consecutive partition sequences but also reveals novel features such as logarithmic concavity

No full textIn diesem Beitrag wird eine Unterrichtssequenz zur Einführung des Ableitungsbegriffs vorgestellt, die als Arbeitsblatt-basierter Lernpfad konzipiert ist. Zentrale Bestandteile sind kognitiv aktivierende Aufgaben, die sich auf dynamische GeoGebra-Applets beziehen. Diese Applets können über QR-Codes oder Links auf den Arbeitsblättern aufgerufen werden. Die inhaltliche Gestaltung orientiert sich an den beiden zentralen Grundvorstellungen Lokale Änderungsrate und Tangentensteigung sowie an den drei Ebenen ratio, limit und function des Rahmenmodells zum Verständnis der Ableitung nach Zandieh (2000). Ergänzend enthält der Beitrag exemplarische Verlaufspläne zur Umsetzung der Sequenz im Unterricht.This paper presents a teaching sequence for introducing the concept of the derivative, designed as a worksheet-based learning path. Central components are cognitively activating tasks that refer to dynamic GeoGebra applets. These applets can be accessed via QR codes or links provided on the worksheets. The content is structured around the two central basic mental models local rate of change and tangent slope, as well as the three layers ratio, limit, and function from the framework for understanding the derivative proposed by Zandieh (2000). Additionally, the paper includes exemplary lesson plans for implementing the sequence in classroom practice

No full textDas Musikleben in den Residenzen Hohenlimburg und Rheda unter Graf Moritz Casimir I. von Bentheim-Tecklenburg (1701-1768) wurde maßgeblich von Johann Martin Doemming (geb. 1703 in Milz/Thüringen, gest. um 1760) geprägt. Über die musikalische Ausbildung des Verwaltungsangestellten Doemming ist nichts bekannt, jedoch muss sie so fundiert gewesen sein, dass er 1731 zum "Directore musices" bestellt wurde. Doemming hat zahlreiche Kompositionen für den Gebrauch der Hofmusik hinterlassen, insbesondere konzertante Musik für Bläser, Streicher und Basso continuo. Unter seiner Leitung wurde 1750 ein thematischer "Catalogus musicus" angelegt, der das Repertoire der Hofkapelle während der Regierungszeit von Moritz Casimir I. widerspiegelt. Die erhaltenen Werke von Johann Martin Doemming sind - vielfach als Autograph - ausschließlich in der Fürstlich zu Bentheim-Tecklenburgischen Musikbibliothek Rheda überliefert
