Economic fatigue damage monitoring for vehicle fleets using the scattering transform
Vehicle monitoring is an important prequisite for predictive maintenance applications. Virtual sensors can be deployed to establish relationships between fatigue related quantities of interest and readily available measurement data, which reduces the costs of monitoring for vehicle fleets. This work describes a data-driven virtual sensing approach using the scattering transform and principal component analysis. These data transformations are used to obtain a reduced representation of acceleration data, which is suitable for the identification of fatigue critical events during vehicle operation. Results of a previous study using an eBike demonstrator are summarized and the methodology is applied to experimental data of a sensor equipped light rail vehicle. In both applications, fictitious fatigue damage contributions are estimated accurately and physical interpretations of the reduced representation are found

Order-Preserving Self-Maps of Complete Lattices
We study isotone self-maps of complete lattices and their fixed point sets, which are complete lattices contained as suborders, but not necessarily as subsemilattices. We develop a representation of such maps by means of relations and show how to navigate their fixed point lattices using a modification of the standard Next closure algorithm. Our approach is inspired by early work of Shmuely and Crapo. We improve and substantially extend our earlier publication

Effect of Load Eccentricity on CRC Structures with Different Slenderness Ratios Subjected to Axial Compression
The use of nonmetallic reinforcement in concrete aims at the decrease in material consumption by reducing the component sizes when compared to conventional reinforced concrete structures, which inherently results in very filigree structures. Although intensive basic research has been carried out on textile-reinforced concrete for about 30 years, the subject of stability behavior has hardly been investigated so far. This study focuses the fundamental understanding of the structural behavior of slender carbon-reinforced concrete (CRC) structures subjected to axial compression. Therefore, buckling experiments have been carried out in order to quantify the influence of two parameters: the slenderness ratio of the specimens (varying between 60 and 130) and the load eccentricity (0, 2, and 4 mm). The results of the specimens that were tested with the initial load eccentricities revealed a good overall agreement with those obtained by a second-order theory approach throughout all of the investigated slenderness ratios. For the centrally pressed samples that featured high slenderness ratios, the failure stresses could successfully be predicted with Euler’s buckling formula, whereas this theory overestimated the results of the specimens with intermediate to low slenderness ratios due to the plastic buckling phenomenon.
