The Relationship between Iranian EFL High School Students’ Multiple Intelligence Scores and Their Use of Learning Strategies
According to the theory of multiple intelligences (MI) propounded by Gardner (1983, 1999a, 1999b), each individual has a multitude of intelligences that are quite independent of each other and each individual has a unique cognitive profile. Having access to the MI profiles and learning strategies of learners could help the teachers in planning activities to connect both strategies and students’ talents and provide students with the best possible instruction. Thus, this study attempts to find out the relationship between the MI profiles and language learning strategies used by Iranian EFL high school students. Two hundred and twenty-nine students (121 males, 108 females) participated in the study. The instruments used to elicit information for this study were McKenzie’s (1999) MI inventory and the Strategy Inventory for Language Learning (SILL) Questionnaire. The findings revealed that there is a low, positive correlation between the two variables of MI and learning strategies, r = 0.24. In addition, it was found that there is a low, positive correlation between MI and different strategy types. The highest correlation was seen between meta-cognitive strategies and MI, followed by compensation and cognitive strategies. Furthermore, the findings reveal that Iranian students mostly use meta-cognitive strategies followed by social strategies

Moreover, certain parameter optimization is alleviated with the application of a particular finite impulse response (FIR) filter. Simulation results are showing the effectiveness of the developed estimation algorithm
Design of English-Hindi Translation Memory for Efficient Translation
Developing parallel corpora is an important and a difficult activity for Machine Translation. This requires manual annotation by Human Translators. Translating same text again is a useless activity. There are tools available to implement this for European Languages, but no such tool is available for Indian Languages. In this paper we present a tool for Indian Languages which not only provides automatic translations of the previously available translation but also provides multiple translations, in cases where a sentence has multiple translations, in ranked list of suggestive translations for a sentence. Moreover this tool also lets translators have global and local saving options of their work, so that they may share it with others, which further lightens the task
Emergence of Orderliness in Mind: A Probabilistic Causal Approach
The current study concentrates to figure out how orderliness emerges possibly in the\ud
mind. A research emulation with random data was usable for generation of the hypothesis. The\ud
resulted hypothesis assumed that in a novel situation, quality of a stimulus evokes what kinds of\ud
flip-flop dynamic persons generate, and the flip-flop dynamic results in what kind of overt\ud
orderliness the persons produce. The variables between were the imaginary word, the concrete\ud
word, and the abstract word; planning, organizing, and arranging; the sentence without a regular\ud
arrangement, the deficient sentence, and the proper sentence. Structured observation was the\ud
method to obtain data. The number of the participants was 100 (53 men, 47 women). Matrix\ud
calculus was applicable to research causation with probabilities. Reliability was assed with\ud
Cronbach’s α-coefficient, and validity with χ2-test. The hypothesis corroborated, and the causal\ud
flip-flop dynamic referred to the direction that the same causal system dynamic deals with\ud
dissimilar referents in the mind, and results in different outputs. The essential result of the\ud
research was the causal flip-flop where after the inputs the process causes the process, and back\ud
again to the modified absorption before the outputs

Cigarette smoke contains mutagenic chemicals that are in the “probably carcinogenic” or “possibly carcinogenic” categories. In addition to free radicals, cigarette smoke is also rich in combustion toxic gases that can reach a very high concentration and become involved in more radical formation. Smoking increases the risk of cancers of the lungs, bladder, cervix, kidney, larynx (voice box), pharynx (upper throat), nose, mouth, oesophagus (foodpipe), pancreas, stomach, liver and some types of leukaemia. Design of Automatically Adaptable Web Wrappers
Nowadays, the huge amount of information distributed through the Web motivates studying techniques to\ud
be adopted in order to extract relevant data in an efficient and reliable way. Both academia and enterprises\ud
developed several approaches of Web data extraction, for example using techniques of artificial intelligence or\ud
machine learning. Some commonly adopted procedures, namely wrappers, ensure a high degree of precision\ud
of information extracted from Web pages, and, at the same time, have to prove robustness in order not to\ud
compromise quality and reliability of data themselves.\ud
In this paper we focus on some experimental aspects related to the robustness of the data extraction process\ud
and the possibility of automatically adapting wrappers. We discuss the implementation of algorithms for\ud
finding similarities between two different version of a Web page, in order to handle modifications, avoiding\ud
the failure of data extraction tasks and ensuring reliability of information extracted. Our purpose is to evaluate\ud
performances, advantages and draw-backs of our novel system of automatic wrapper adaptation

El interés de este estudio se ha centrado en conocer el grado de adecuación de los estudiantes de primer curso\ud
universitario a las necesidades de aprendizaje que plantea el nuevo marco del Espacio Europeo de Educación\ud
Superior, en relación a los estilos de pensamiento, las metas académicas, la nota de entrada en la titulación y las\ud
horas de estudio. Para ello, se ha trabajado con una muestra de 559 alumnos/as universitarios de primer curso de 11\ud
titulaciones pertenecientes a la Universidad de Oviedo, con un total de 190 hombres (34 %) y 369 mujeres (66 %).\ud
En esta investigación se han utilizado el Thinking Styles Questionnaire for Students (TSQS), el Cuestionario para\ud
la Evaluación de Metas Académicas-II (CEMA-II) y un cuestionario de datos personales y académicos. Los\ud
resultados de los análisis sugieren que los alumnos universitarios de primer año están orientados hacia metas de\ud
aprendizaje. Además, prefieren estilos de pensamiento relacionados con la resolución de las tareas de forma\ud
autónoma y creativa, independientemente de la titulación en la que estén matriculados

Effect of Modified Suit Therapy in Spastic Diplegic Cerebral Palsy - A Single Blinded Randomized Controlled Trial
Background & Objective: Development of gross motor function in children with cerebral palsy has been a primary goal of physical therapists for decades. Suit therapy has been proposed as an adjunct to conventional physiotherapy to treat the impairments associated with cerebral palsy. Providing an orthosis along with the conventional therapy improves the motor performance of the child. Hence, this study aimed to determine the effect of modified suit therapy in gross motor function of spastic diplegic children. Method: A simple random sample of 30 spastic diplegic subjects in age group of 4-12 years fulfilling inclusion criteria from Mobility India, Bangalore was included. The outcome was evaluated using Gross Motor Function Measure-88 scale before and after the intervention. Suit therapy along with the conventional therapy is given for 2hrs daily for duration of 3 weeks. Results & Conclusion: Wilcoxon signed rank test and Mann-Whitney U test were used to find the significance of improvement before and after the intervention. There was statistically significant difference between the experimental and control groups (P=0.030). It is concluded that modified suit therapy along with conventional physiotherapy is effective in improving the gross motor function of children with spastic diplegic cerebral palsy
