An approach to a graph-based model for encouraging transfer of knowledge in learning activities

    No full text
Knowledge transfer is a key aspect of securing the continuous improvement of learning, being the reuse and recombination of knowledge a difficult task. Hence, this process can be enriched by approaches such as graph theory, transactive memory and social networks to boost and facilitate the team members' learning. This paper presents an approaching of representing knowledge transfer of learning contexts, applying graph structures to perceive dynamically the collaborative learning under transactive memory mechanisms and social network aspects when connecting participants in building knowledge. The proposed model allows rate the learning process and determines weak elements to so reinforcing the understanding and comprehension of a determined subject. Through case studies, this approach was validated by people belonging to academic and business context, which participated in learning collaboratively specific topics and provided support for acquiring skills. The dynamic of the model, supported by a graph structure was analysed to disclose encouraging perceptions on this proposal.Doble- Cieg

Parallelization of the Algorithm K-means Applied in Image Segmentation

    No full text
Algorithm k-means is useful for grouping operations; however, when is applied to large amounts of data, its computational cost is high. This research propose an optimization of k-means algorithm by using parallelization techniques and synchronization, which is applied to image segmentation. In the results obtained, the parallel k-means algorithm, improvement 50% to the algorithm sequential k-means.Doble - Cieg

Identidad Virtual Implicancias en el Derecho a la Intimidad

    No full text

    No full text
Doble - Cieg

M-CBIR: A Medical Content-Based Image Retrieval System Using Metric Data-Structures

    No full text
This work is focused on the modeling and development of a CBIR (Content-based image retrieval) system applied to the recovery of digital medical images of a human body, denominated M-CBIR. This model is composed on two methodologies: features extraction techniques and metric data structures. When this set of techniques is applied to the search of different human body regions, it can retrieve the most relevant similar images to a query image. A real database of medical images composed of 772 medical studies was used to compare the robustness of the extraction techniques and evaluate the performance of the system, through four different extractors. The objective of this work will result in a digital atlas of human body for medical radiological center. Finally, analysis and conclusions are also discussed.Doble- Cieg

    No full text
Doble- Cieg

A Process Reference Model for Managing Living Labs for ICT Innovation: A proposal based on ISO/IEC 15504

    No full text
Living Labs are innovation infrastructures where software companies and research organizations collaborate with lead users to design and develop new products and services. There is not any reference model related to the processes or practices to manage a living lab. This article presents a reference model to manage effectively the synergies of software companies with the other stakeholders participating in a living lab. The article describes the approach used to create the reference model through the analysis of a multiple case study considering six living labs and discusses the lessons learned during the creation of the process reference model.Doble- Cieg

A novel approach for image feature extraction using HSV model color and niters wavelets

    No full text
Due to the advancement of computing and the power of the new hardware, more economical, it is now feasible to have thousands of images which can be analyzed to allow classification for its shape and/or color. Furthermore, techniques and efficiency of the classification depends on the characteristics to be obtained of images in order to compare and classify them according to their similarity. Some images, such as model cars, planes and boats, can be discriminated by their shape. However, other images such as butterfly species where the shape is similar, the color plays an important role in the discrimination task. In this research we propose a novel approach to extract distinctive features of images by combining the HSV color model and wavelets filters. Furthermore, we investigate the best combination of features color and form. Experiments have shown improved performance by combining the HSV color model with Gabor wavelets.Doble- Cieg

Discovery of patterns in software metrics using clustering techniques

    No full text
One mechanism for estimating software quality is through the use of metrics, which are functions that evaluates certain characteristics of the product quality development. A software product can be evaluated from different points of view, and in that sense, the results of the evaluations are numeric vectors, which together describe the quality of the software. This research uses data from NASA's open access which undergo a process of reducing the dimensionality by principal component analysis (PCA), then applied three clustering techniques and evaluates the best grouping using Rand Index. Finally, the top clusters are tested with regression to find the metrics that are related to the error of the Software. The results suggest that groups consisting of software modules whose code source have a higher average of blank lines, show a higher density of error. This could be interpreted as an indication of the order of implementation. On the other hand, shows the presence of a direct relationship between the number of errors in a module with the number of calls functions to other modules. The contribution of this work is related to the use of assessment techniques of clustering, dimensionality reduction, clustering algorithms and regression to discover patterns in software metrics a rigorous manner.Doble- Cieg
