Responsible Parenthood as a Theological Category
Rad ističe važnost odgovornog roditeljstva s fokusom na odnos među supružnicima, planiranje potomstva i odgoj djece. Rad pruža dublji uvid u ulogu i odgovornost roditelja u oblikovanju života i duhovnog razvoja djece. Također, istražuje moralne i etičke aspekte planiranja obitelji, uključujući prirodno planiranje obitelji, kontracepciju i umjetnu oplodnju. Zdrav i harmoničan odnos među supružnicima te planiranje potomstva uzimajući u obzir moralne i etičke aspekte ključni su elementi odgovornog roditeljstva. Roditelji imaju ulogu u moralnom, duhovnom i intelektualnom razvoju djece. Oni su prvi i najvažniji svjedoci koje djeca imaju od početka svoga života. Bračna ljubav, prokreacija i odgoj potomstva su temeljni aspekti obrađeni u radu, naglašavajući važnost prisutnosti, dosljednosti i brige roditelja za svoju djecu. Roditelji trebaju biti primjeri i mentori u duhovnom rastu svoje djece. Kako bi u tome uspjeli potrebno je njihovo međusobno poticanje na rast u svetosti.The paper emphasizes the importance of responsible parenting with a focus on the relationship between spouses, family planning, and raising children. It provides a deeper insight into the role and responsibility of parents in shaping the lives and spiritual development of their children. It also explores the moral and ethical aspects of family planning, including natural family planning, contraception, and artificial insemination. A healthy and harmonious relationship between spouses and thoughtful family planning, considering moral and ethical aspects, are key elements of responsible parenting. Parents play a role in the moral, spiritual, and intellectual development of their children. They are the first and most important witnesses that children have from the beginning of their lives. Marital love, procreation, and raising children are fundamental aspects discussed in the paper, emphasizing the importance of parents' presence, consistency, and care for their children. Parents should be examples and mentors in the spiritual growth of their children. To succeed in this, they need to encourage each other's growth in holiness
(Un)Merciful God in the Book of Judges
Unutar teme (Ne)Milosrdni Bog u Knjizi o Sucima autor pokušava odgovoriti na pitanje je li Bog u Knjizi o Sucima (ne)milosrdan. Rad je podijelio na tri dijela, a to su: Knjiga o Sucima, nemilosrdni Bog u Knjizi o Sucima i milosrdni Bog u Knjizi o Sucima. U prvome dijelu rada autor je Knjigu o Sucima smjestio u njezin povijesni i društveni kontekst. U kratkim crtama je opisana povijest velikih i malih sudaca. U drugom dijelu rada autor je govorio o temi nemilosrdnoga Boga u Knjizi o Sucima. U posebno izdvojenim pripovijestima dao je svojevrstan zaključak da je Bog Knjige o Sucima nemilosrdan. Njegovo nemilosrđe se očituje u odnosu prema grijehu, a ne u odnosu prema čovjeku. U trećem dijelu autor je govorio o temi milosrdnoga Boga. Bog Knjige o Sucima je također i milosrdan, ali u odnosu prema čovjeku. Njegovo milosrđe se očituje u brizi za izraelski narod. Također nama se postavlja pitanje kako i na koji način Božje (ne)milosrđe utječe na život današnjeg čovjeka. Autor je na temelju starozavjetnih pripovijesti iz Knjige o Sucima povukao paralelu s današnjim čovjekom.Within the topic (Un)Merciful God in the Book of Judges, the author tries to answer the question whether God in the Book of Judgers is (un)merciful. He divided the work into three parts, namely the Book of Judges, the merciless God in the Book of Judges and the merciful God in the Book of Judges. In the first part of the work, the author places the Book of Judges in its historical and solial context. The history of great and small judges is briefly described. In the second part of the work, the author spoke about the subject of the merciless God in the Book of Judges. In specially selected narratives, he gave a kind of conclusion that the God of the Book of Judges is unmerciful. His mercilessness is manifested in his relationship to sin, not in his relationship to man. In the third part, the author spoke about the subject of the merciful God. The God of the Book of Judges is also merciful, but in relation to man. His mercy is manifested in his concern for the people of Israel. We are also asked the question of how and what way God's (un)mercy affects the life of today's man. Based on the Old Testament narratives from the Book of Judges, the author drew a parallel with today's man
The Individual and the Political System from the Perspective of Liberalism, Libertarianism and Personalism on the Examples of John Locke, Robert Nozick and Karol Wojtyla

Do koje mjere pojedinac može djelovati i koje stavove politički sustav prema njemu može zauzeti bez da ugrozi sklad cjelokupne političke zajednice? Koja su prava, a koje dužnosti pojedinca? Odnosi li se to i na politički sustav? Ovaj rad želi navedena pitanja obraditi iz tri filozofske perspektive. Te su: liberalizam, libertarijanizam i personalizam. Tri filozofske perspektive su predstavljene kroz tri autora: John Locke, Robert Nozick i Karol Wojtyła. Analizom izabranih djela navedenih autora rad donosi zaključke koji će moći odgovoriti na gore postavljena pitanja. Sve tri filozofske perspektive prepoznaju važnost osobe no međusobno se razlikuju po pitanju etičkih vrijednosti.There is always a tension between the individual and the political system, which is clearly manifested in the life of the community i. e. society. To what extent can an individual act and what attitudes can a political system take towards him without endangering the harmony of the entire political community? What are the rights and what are the duties of an individual? Does this also apply to the political system? This paper aims to address the above-mentioned questions from three philosophical perspectives. These are: liberalism, libertarianism and personalism. Three philosophical perspectives are presented through three authors: John Locke, Robert Nozick and Karol Wojtyła. By analyzing the selected works of the mentioned authors, the paper draws conclusions that will be able to answer the above-mentioned questions. All three philosophical perspectives recognize the importance of the person, but differ from each other in terms of ethical values
Blessed Alojzije Stepinac - Priestly vocation and identity in challenging times from today's perspective
Kardinal Alojzije Stepinac, zagrebački nadbiskup od 1937. do 1960. godine hrvatski je blaženik i mučenik radi vjere i odanosti Svetoj Stolici. Ovaj rad stavlja u fokus razvoj njegovog svećeničkog poziva te analizira njegov svećenički identitet iz perspektive Drugog vatikanskog koncila koji je progovorio o svećeničkoj i biskupskoj službi, i koji je temelj za današnje Dokumente koji govore o formaciji svećeničkih kandidata. Svećenički identitet blaženog Alojzija Stepinca, u svojim sastavnicama, prikazan je historiografskim izvorima koji donose njegove propovijedi, govore, pisane dokumente i svjedočanstva ljudi koji su ga poznavali i s njim surađivali. Pokazano je da je blaženi Alojzije Stepinac u svojoj teološkoj misli i pastoralnom radu bio otvoren za promjene koje su bile potrebne društvu onoga vremena u cilju širenja evanđelja i spašavanja duša, te anticipirao mnoge stvari koje će Drugi vatikanski koncil donijeti. Svećenički identitet kakvog je izgradio i živio u teškim povijesnim okolnostima može svakako biti primjer svećenicima u današnjem izazovnom vremenu.Cardinal Alojzije Stepinac, Archbishop of Zagreb from 1937 to 1960, is a Croatian blessed and martyr for his faith and loyalty to the Holy See. This work focuses on the development of his priestly vocation and analyzes his priestly identity from the perspective of the Second Vatican Council, which addressed the priestly and episcopal ministry, and serves as the foundation for today's Documents concerning the formation of priestly candidates. The priestly identity of Blessed Alojzije Stepinac, in its components, is depicted through historiographical sources that present his sermons, speeches, written documents, and testimonies of people who knew and collaborated with him. It is shown that Blessed Alojzije Stepinac, in his theological thought and pastoral work, was open to the changes needed by the society of his time for the purpose of spreading the Gospel and saving souls, and anticipated many things that the Second Vatican Council would later bring. The priestly identity he built and lived in difficult historical circumstances can certainly serve as an example for priests in today's challenging times
Media literacy and the media in religious education in the context of the media in society and the Church
U diplomskom radu pod naslovom “Medijska pismenost i mediji u nastavi vjeronauka u kontekstu značenja medija u društvu i Crkvi” obrađuje se pitanje zašto je važno medijski odgojiti učenike te na koji način se oni mogu uključiti u vjeronaučnu nastavu. Srž rada nalazi se u trećem poglavlju pod nazivom Mediji u nastavi vjeronauka.
U prvom poglavlju Mediji i njihov utjecaj na pojedinca i društvo definiran je pojam medij te su nabrojene vrste medija i njihova uloga. Poglavlje se bavi i dobrim i lošim stranama medija te se kao problematika medija ističe internetsko nasilje, ovisnost i lažne vijesti, a kao prednosti, zabava i dostupnost informacija.
U drugom, a ujedno i središnjem poglavlju Odnos Crkve i medija govori se o tome što Crkva u svojim dokumentima govori o medijima, kako je prikazana Crkva u medijima, zatim zadaći Crkve kao evangelizatoru kroz medije i u medijima te na kraju o crkvenim medijima u Hrvatskoj.
Treće i završno poglavlje pod nazivom Mediji u nastavi vjeronauka govori što je to medijska pismenost te opisuje koje su to karakteristike učitelja važne za što uspješniju primjenu medija i novih tehnologija u nastavu. Cilj je bio pokazati neke metode s pomoću kojih možemo upotrijebiti određene medije u vjeronaučnu nastavu te na taj način učenicima približiti nastavni sadržaj. Konkretno su kao primjeri uzeti film, glazba i internet.The diploma thesis entitled "Media literacy and the media in religious education in the context of the significance of the media in society and the Church" deals with the question of why it is important to educate students through the media and how they can be involved in religious education. The core of the work is in the third chapter entitled Media in the teaching of religious studies.
In the first chapter, Media and their influence on the individual and society, the concept of media is defined and the types of media and their role are listed. The chapter deals with the good and bad sides of the media, highlighting internet violence, addiction and fake news as media issues, and entertainment and the availability of information as advantages.
In the second, and at the same time, the central chapter, the relationship between the Church and the media, it talks about what the Church says about the media in its documents, how the Church is portrayed in the media, then the task of the Church as an evangelizer through the media and in the media, and finally about the church media in Croatia.
The third and final chapter, entitled Media in the teaching of religious education, tells what media literacy is and describes what characteristics of teachers are important for the most successful application of media and new technologies in teaching. The goal was to show some methods with which we can use certain media in religious teaching and thus bring the teaching content closer to the students. Specifically, film, music and the Internet were taken as examples
Women and their role in the early Church according to Acts of apostoles
U prošlosti su se podosta analizirale uloga i važnost žena u Crkvi, ponajviše zbog toga što su dugo vremena nisu uspjele izboriti za neke funkcije koje su imali muškarci. Crkva, kao ni mnoga ostala područja, nije pokazivala neku naklonjenost prema ženama te su se žene isključivale iz većine aktivnosti i zadataka. Unatoč tome, smatra se kako su žene u prvim kršćanskim zajednicama bile jako važne kada su obavljale službu đakonisa i udovica. U novije je vrijeme nastalo još više rasprava o službi žene u Crkvi, ali one nisu ni u Novom zavjetu imale nikakvu drugu službu osim kao đakonise i udovice, ponajviše zbog uvjeta tog vremena. Prema židovskoj tradiciji žena se snalazila u podređenoj ulozi i u kući i u braku gdje nije imala gotovo nikakva prava jer je njen odnos s mužem bio na razini vlasnika (muža) i predmeta (žene). Također, niti malo veća prava žena nije imala ni u području vjere gdje je imala zabranu aktivnog sudjelovanja na sastancima u sinagogama koji su se održavali subotama. Dakle, svaku ulogu u političkom i religioznom životu Židova mogli su obavljati isključivo muškarci, a slična je situacija bila i u drevnoj grčkoj te rimskoj kulturi. Međutim, u usporedbi s prilikama i mogućnostima žena prije kršćanstva, jasno je da se njihovo stanje i uloga u Crkvi, s vremenom, popravlja. Pavlovi tekstovi dokazuju kako su se sve više izjednačavala prava i uloge žena i muškaraca u različitim područjima, uključujući i onom vjerskom. Najveći su problemi nastupili onda kada se žena trebala ravnopravno uključiti u društveni i crkveni život u kojima su prevladavali muškarci. Isus Krist je naglašavao ulogu i važnost žene koja je bila ključna za naviještanje Radosne vijesti. On je ženu priznavao kao ravnopravnu sugovornice i držao ju jednaku muškarcu, ali iako su mu u prošlosti žene bile vjernije od muškaraca te su ga oplakivale, stajale blizu križa, pomazivale mu tijelo i otkrivale prazan grob, za razlika od muškaraca koji su ga izdali i iznevjerili kad mu je pomoć bila najpotrebnija, Isus Krist nije niti jednu od njih pribrojio apostolskom zboru. Nadalje, i Pavao je isticao ulogu i važnost žena u društvenom, ali i vjerskom životu te ih je, u aktivnostima molitve i prorokovanja, izjednačavao s muškarcima. Prikazivao je ženu i muškarca kao jednake u dostojanstvu, ali međusobno ipak različite te je inzistirao na razlici između žene i muškarca čime se htio distancirati od stava koji ih želi potpuno izjednačiti.In the past, the role and importance of women in the Church was analyzed a lot, mostly because for a long time they did not manage to fight for some functions that were held by men. The church, like many other areas, did not show any affection towards women, and women were excluded from most activities and tasks. Despite this, it is considered that women in the first Christian communities were very important when they performed the service of deaconesses and widows. In recent times, there have been even more discussions about the service of women in the Church, but they did not have any other service in the New Testament except as deaconesses and widows, mostly due to the conditions of that time. According to Jewish tradition, a woman found herself in a subordinate role both in the home and in marriage where she had almost no rights because her relationship with her husband was at the level of owner (husband) and object (wife). Also, women did not have even slightly greater rights in the field of religion, where they were prohibited from actively participating in meetings in synagogues that were held on Saturdays. Therefore, every role in the political and religious life of the Jews could be performed exclusively by men, and the situation was similar in ancient Greek and Roman culture. Compared to the opportunities and possibilities of women before Christianity, it is clear that their condition and role in the Church is improving over time. Paul's texts prove that the rights and roles of women and men were increasingly equalized in various areas, including the religious one. The biggest problems arose when women had to be equally involved in social and church life in which men predominated. Jesus Christ emphasized the role and importance of women, who were crucial for announcing the Good News. He recognized a woman as an equal interlocutor and held her equal to a man, but although in the past women were more faithful to him than men and mourned him, stood near the cross, anointed his body and discovered an empty grave, for the difference from the men who betrayed him and failed when he needed help the most, Jesus Christ did not add any of them to the apostolic choir. Furthermore, Paul emphasized the role and importance of women in social and religious life and equated them with men in the activities of prayer and prophesying. He portrayed women and men as equal in dignity, but different from each other, and he insisted on the difference between women and men, which he wanted to distance from the attitude that wants to completely equalize them
The value of family in the perspective of the social dimension of work
Diplomski rad, koji je obrađen unutar tri poglavlja, ima za cilj prikazati važnost obitelji i ljudskog rada kao ključnih vrednota za cjeloviti ljudski razvoj. Promatranjem obitelji kao vrednote uviđa se koliko je važan obiteljski odgoj te izgrađena obitelj kao mjesto zajedništva za kvalitetnu izgradnju društva. Ljudski rad je u svim svojim oblicima svojstven čovjeku i predstavlja temeljnu (kršćansku) vrednotu bez koje društvo ne može postojati.
Vrednote obitelji i ljudskog rada promatrane su u kontekstu Hrvatskog socijalnog tjedna, važne ustanove za promicanje socijalnog nauka Crkve, kako bismo uvidjeli puteve koji pridonose osvješćivanju dviju vrednota u svrhu razvoja čovjeka i društva. Kriza vrednota u suvremenom hrvatskom društvu upućuje na značajnost obitelji, škole i Crkve kao najvažnijih odgojnih čimbenika. Crkva ima brojne i raznolike mogućnosti djelovanja kao odgojni čimbenik, a jedan od najsnažnijih je vjeronauk u školama. Važan sugovornik u čitavom procesu jesu mediji kao jedan od utjecajnijih čimbenika.The thesis, which is covered in three parts, aims to present the importance of family and human labour as key values for integral human development. By observing the family as a value, the significance of family upbringing becomes clear, as well as the role of a strong family as a place of unity crucial for the proper development of society. Labour, in all its forms, is intrinsic to human nature and represents a fundamental (Christian) value without which society cannot exist.
The values of family and human labour were examined in the context of the Croatian social week to demonstrate that this approach contributes to raising awareness of these values for the development of both individuals and society. The crisis of values in contemporary Croatian society highlights the importance of the family, school, and Church as the most significant educational factors. The Church has numerous and diverse opportunities to act as an educational agent, with one of the strongest being religious education in schools. An important interlocutor in the entire process is the media as one of the more influential factors
The Gospel in the life of Saint Francis of Assisi
U ovome su radu predstavljeni ključni događaji i trenuci iz života svetoga Franje koji govore o njegovu susretu sa Evanđeljem. Evanđelje je za svetoga Franju bilo krajnje mjerodavno (norma normans), budući da je smatrao kako će i sam živeći po Evanđelju postajati što više sličniji Kristu. Čitao ga je i razmatrao često i uvijek s velikim poštovanjem. Sav je svoj život usmjerio da živi Evanđelje. Kako i sam kaže nije mogao ne propovijedati o Kristu: kad zbog bolesti više nije mogao hodati, onda je pisao. Propovijedao je svim stvorenjima. Braću je učio da uvijek budu usmjereni prema riječima Kristovim. Tako je prvotno Pravilo braći bilo jednostavno živjeti Evanđelje. Kasnije pak koje je napisao, obilovalo je evanđeoskim navodima, odnosno porukom. Njegov evanđeoski pokret zahvatio je ljude njegova vremena, te je i sama Crkva kojoj je bila potrebna svježina evanđeoske poruke bila obnovljena. Dobro je prepoznao znakove svoga vremena te se nije sustezao postaviti evanđeoski poredak vrijednosti svugdje gdje je bio poslan.This paper presents key events and moments from the life of Saint Francis that illustrate his encounter with the Gospel. For Saint Francis, the Gospel was of utmost importance (norma normans), as he believed that by living according to the Gospel, he would become more like Christ. He read and contemplated it often, always with great respect. He directed his entire life towards living the Gospel. As he himself stated, he could not help but preach about Christ: when he could no longer walk due to illness, he wrote. He preached to all creatures and taught his brothers to always focus on the words of Christ. Thus, the original Rule for his brothers was simply to live the Gospel. Later, the Rule he wrote was rich with Gospel references and messages. His evangelical movement reached the people of his time, and the Church, which needed the freshness of the Gospel message, was renewed. He accurately recognized the signs of his time and did not hesitate to establish an evangelical order of values wherever he was sent
The Excellence of Old Testament Woman according to the criterion of the Virtuous Woman (Proverbs 31:10-31)
Cilj ovog diplomskog rada bio je vidjeti koliko su izabrane starozavjetne žene bile vrsne žene, prema kriteriju pjesme o vrsnoj ženi iz Izr 31,10-31. Željeli smo vidjeti kako su ostvarile svoju vrsnost s obzirom na položaj i ulogu koju su imale u patrijarhalnom židovskom društvu. Pobliže smo upoznali kontekst u kojem su živjele, analizirali smo pjesmu o vrsnoj ženi kako bi vidjeli koji su to kriteriji prema kojem ih vrednujemo i pobliže ih upoznali.
Analizom i istraživanjem vidjeli smo kako su Ruta, Judita i Estera, velike žene Staroga zavjeta, ostvarile svoju izvrsnost. Ništa manje nisu bile vrsne ni žene koje smo upoznali nakon njih: Debora, Ana, Abigajila i Suzana. To su bile hrabre žene, vjerne Bogu i njegovom Zakonu, koje su mudro otvarale svoja usta i s nadom gledale u budućnost. Svaka je od njih ostvarila temeljni poziv jedne žene; a to je postići mudrost i strah Gospodnji i tako se ubrojiti među vrsne žene Staroga zavjeta.
Te su žene primjer i nama danas, kako je moguće biti vrsna žena na onom životnom putu na kojem se nalazimo, slijedeći uvijek Boga, ostajući vjeran njemu i njegovom zakonu. U poniznosti srca, neustrašivoj naravi i neupitnom dostojanstvu, svaka je žena danas pozvana biti vrsna žena iz Izr 31,10-31.The aim of this thesis was to see how excellent the chosen women of the Old Testament were, according to the criterion of the poem about the Virtuous Woman from Proverbs 31,10-31. We wanted to see how they achieved their excellence regardless of their position and role in the patriarchal Jewish society. We got to know the context in which they lived, we analyzed the poem about the Vituous Woman in order what are the criteria by which we evaluate them and get to know them better.
Through analysis and research, we have seen how Ruth, Judith, and Esther, the great women of the Old Testament, achieved their excellence. The women we met after them were no less excellent: Deborah, Anna, Abigail and Susanna. They were courageous women, faithful to God and his Law, who wisely opened their mouths and looked to the future with hope. Each of them fulfilled the fundamental vocation of a woman: to attain the wisdom and fear of the Lord, to be counted among the excellent women of the Old Testament.
These women are an example to us today of how it is possible to be an excellent woman on the path of life on which we find ourselves, always following God, remaining faithful to Him and His law. In humbleness of heart, fearless nature and unquestionable dignity, every woman today is called to be the Virtuous Woman of Proverbs 31,10-31
Spiritual abuse and abuse of power in the Church
Ovaj diplomski rad istražuje fenomen duhovnog zlostavljanja i zloupotrebe moći unutar Crkve s ciljem upoznavanja dinamika i procesa zlostavljanja te traženja načina za sprječavanja istih. Analizom dostupne literature i izvora rad prikazuje načine na koje pojedinci zloupotrebljavaju svoju poziciju autoriteta ostavljajući tako bolne rane na žrtvama. Daje se uvid općenito u fenomen zlostavljanja u Crkvi, koji je prisutan od prvih stoljeća, te se predstavljaju recentni interventi Crkve. Potom se definiraju pojmovi duhovnog zlostavljanja i zloupotrebe moći te se tumači njihova dinamika. Proučavajući profil zlostavljača, primjećuje se da se na prvi pogled mogu činiti istinskim Božjim suradnicima, no stvarnost je često potpuno drugačija. Svojim djelima nerijetko uzrokuju teške psihološke i duhovne posljedice kod žrtava. Stoga su nužne konkretne promjene u odgojnim i drugim crkvenim ustanovama i zajednicama, među kojima se posebno ističe važnost edukacije i praćenja na putu rasta i razvoja kako u početnoj, tako i u trajnoj formaciji Bogu posvećenih osoba.This thesis explores the phenomenon of spiritual abuse and abuse of power within the Church, aiming to understand the dynamics and processes of abuse and to find ways to prevent them. By analyzing available literature and sources, the thesis presents how individuals misuse their positions of authority, leaving painful scars on the victims. It provides an overview of the general phenomenon of abuse in the Church, which has been present since the early centuries, and introduces recent interventions by the Church. The concepts of spiritual abuse and abuse of power are then defined, and their dynamics are explained. Studying the profile of the abuser, it is observed that they may appear to be genuine collaborators with God at first glance, but the reality is often quite different. Their actions frequently cause severe psychological and spiritual consequences for the victims. Therefore, concrete changes are necessary in educational and other Church institutions and communities, particularly emphasizing the importance of education and guidance on the path of growth and development, both in the initial and ongoing formation of persons consecrated to God
