    No full text
A convergence of technologies in data mining, machine learning, and a persuasive computer has led to an interest in the development of smart environment to help human with functions, such as monitoring and remote health interventions, activity recognition, energy saving. The need for technology development was confirmed again by the aging population and the importance of individual independent in their own homes. Pattern mining on sensor data from smart home is widely applied in research such as using data mining. In this paper, we proposed a periodic pattern mining in smart house data that is integrated between the FP-Growth PrefixSpan algorithm and a fuzzy approach, which is called as fuzzy-time interval periodic patterns mining. Our purpose is to obtain the periodic pattern of activity at various time intervals. The simulation results show that the resident activities can be recognized by analyzing the triggered sensor patterns, and the impacts of minimum support values to the number of fuzzy-time-interval periodic patterns generated. Moreover, fuzzy-time-interval periodic patterns that are generated encourages to find daily or anomalies resident’s habits

The administrative process carried out continuously produces large data. So the search process takes a long time. The search process by hashing methods can save time faster. Hashing is methods that directly access data in a table by making references to the key that hashing becomes the address in the table. The performance analysis of the hashing method is done by the number of 18 digit character values. The process of analysis is done on applications that have been implemented in the application. The algorithm of hashing method analyzed is progressive overflow (PO) and linear quotient (LQ). The main purpose of performance analysis of hashing method is to know how gig the performance of each method. The results analyzed showed the average value of collision with 15 keys in the analysis of 53.3% yield the same value, while 46.7% showed the linear quotient has better performance

    No full text
An extensive effort to evolve various routing protocol in order to ensure optimal data delivery in energy efficient way is beneficial only if there is additional means of security process is synchronized. However, the security process consideration introduces additional overhead thus a security mechanism is needed to accomplish an optimal trade-off that exists in-between security as well as resource utilization especially energy. The prime purpose of this paper is to develop a process of security in the context of wireless sensor networks (WSN) by introducing two types of sensor node deployed with different capabilities. The proposed algorithm Novel Model of Secure Paradigm (N-MSP) which is further integrated with WSN. However, this algorithm uses a Hash-based Message Authentication Code (HMAC) authentication followed by pairwise key establishment during data aggregation process in a WSN. The extensive simulation carried out in a numerical platform called MATLAB that depicts that the proposed N-MSP achieves optimal processing time along with energy efficient pairwise key establishment during data aggregation process

    No full text
This research explains the relationship between the end user requirement and accuracy of PMS (Project Management Software). The research aims are to analyze the PMS accuracy and measuring the probability of PMS accuracy in achieving ±1% of the end user requirement. The bias statistical method will be used to prove the PMS accuracy that based on the hypothesis testing. The result indicates the PMS is still accurate to be implemented in Aceh-Indonesia area projects that using the SNI (National Indonesia Standard as current method) with the accuracy index of ±7.5%. The achievement probability of reaching the end user requirement is still low of ±21.77%. In case of the PMS, the low achievement of the end user requirement is not only caused by the low accuracy of the PMS but also caused by the amount of variability error, which is influenced by the amount of variation of the project activity. In this study, we confirm that it is necessary to reconcile both conditions between the PMS accuracy and the end user requirements

Modular Approach to Implement Model Predictive Control on Three Phase Voltage Source Inverter

    No full text
A modular abstraction is presented to implement model predictive control (MPC) on a three phase two level voltage source inverter to control its output current. Traditional ways of coded implementation do not provide insights into the complex nature of MPC; hence a more intuitive, logical and flexible approach for hardware implementation is conceptualized in the form of signal flow graphs (SFGs) for estimation, prediction and optimization. Simulation results show good performance of the approach and easier code generation for real time implementation. RL load is assumed for the inverter and the importance of choosing load inductance and sampling time ratio is emphasized for better control performance

Correlation between Battery Voltage under Loaded Condition and Estimated State of Charge at Valve-Regulated Lead Acid Battery on Discharge Condition using Open Circuit Voltage Method

    No full text
One of the common methods that developed to predict state of charge is opencircuit voltage (OCV) method. The problem which commonly occurs is to findthe correction parameter between open circuit voltage and loaded voltage of thebattery. In this research, correlation between state of charge measurement atloaded condition of a Panasonic LC-VA1212NA1, which is a valve-regulated leadacid (VRLA) battery, and open circuit voltage had been analyzed. Based on theresults of research, correlation between battery’s measured voltage under loadedcondition and open circuit voltage could be approached by two linearization area.It caused by K v ’s values tend to increase when measured voltage under loadedcondition V M < 11.64 volt. However, K v values would be relatively stable forevery V M ≥ 11.64 volts. Therefore, estimated state of charge value, in respect toloaded battery voltage, would increase slower on V M < 11.64 volts and faster onother range

    No full text
A combination of battery and ultracapacitor as a hybrid energy storage system (HESS) of an electric vehicle (EV) can result in better acceleration performance, reduce battery charge-discharge cycle and longer driving range. This paper presents a new converter design combining triple-half-bridge (THB) and buck-boost half-bridge (BHB) converters in a battery-ultracapacitor HESS. The BHB converter is used to compensate the voltage variation of the ultracapacitor. A power management system is proposed to control the power of battery and ultracapacitor to supply the demanded power. This paper describes the operation of the proposed converter using a simplified ∆-type primary-referred equivalent circuit. This paper also shows the simulation results verifying the dynamic response of the proposed power management system for the proposed HESS.

DC Microgrid is one feasible and effective solution to integrate renewable energy sources as well as to supply electricity. This paper proposes a DC microgrid with enhanced Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) techniques for wind and solar energy systems. In this paper, the PV system power generation is enhanced by introducing a two-model MPPT technique that combines incremental conductance and constant voltage MPPT algorithms. Also, for the Wind Energy Conversion System (WECS) with pitch angle controlling technique, an Optimal Power Control MPPT technique is added. The Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation technique is introduced on grid side converter to improve the supply to the grid. The performance of proposed system is analyzed and the efficiency obtained with these methods is enhanced as compared with the previous methods

Multi-objective Optimization of PID Controller using Pareto-based Surrogate Modeling Algorithm for MIMO Evaporator System

    No full text
Most control engineering problems are characterized by several objectives, which have to be satisfied simultaneously. Two widely used methods for finding the optimal solution to such problems are aggregating to a single criterion, and using Pareto-optimal solutions. This paper proposed a Pareto-based Surrogate Modeling Algorithm (PSMA) approach using a combination of Surrogate Modeling (SM) optimization and Pareto-optimal solution to find a fixed-gain, discrete-time Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controller for a Multi Input Multi Output (MIMO) Forced Circulation Evaporator (FCE) process plant. Experimental results show that a multi-objective, PSMA search was able to give a good approximation to the optimum controller parameters in this case. The Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm II (NSGA-II) method was also used to optimize the controller parameters and as comparison with PSMA

Harmonic Mitigation for Non-Linear Load using TSH Active Power Filter with PID Controller

    No full text
Electronic equipments, widely used in present living era, required to have improved power quality. When such type of equipments are connected to electric supply distribution system, they introduce non sinusoidal effect in the line current because of their non-linear relationship in voltage and current. Moreover, harmonics in the line current are also produced. With constantly growing imploration of such type of nonlinear equipments at a large scale, harmonic distortions in line current have become a significant crunch. This required some methods involving the reduction of harmonics in the line current as well as Power Factor Improvement/Correction. The primary goal of this proposed work is to reduce the harmonics produced in line current and to improve power quality of non-linear load by designing a converter with parallel processing scheme, named TSH Active power filter (Transformer less shunt active power filter) with PID controller. Here a separate dc source is employed to supply the shunt connected converter, a voltage source inverter, to remove the requirement of bulky transformer at supply end. This paper depicted the process of reduction of total harmonic distortion (THD), generated due to nonlinear characteristics of load and power factor improvement by shunt compensation. The proposed designs are modeled and simukated using Matlab simulation software
