The Improvement of First Iteration Log Periodic Fractal Koch Antenna with Slot Implementation
In this paper, a slotted is introduced at each of the radiating elements on the 1st iteration log periodic fractal Koch antenna (LPFKA). The antenna is designed to testify the appropriate performance at UHF Digital television which operates from 4.0 GHz to 1.0 GHz. The dimension of the conventional 0th iteration LPKFA is successfully reduced by 17% with the implementation of slotted. The results show a good agreement with a stable radiation pattern across the operating bandwidth, stable gain more than 5 dBi and reflection coefficient of below -10 dB over the desired frequency range
A Survey: Data Leakage Detection Techniques
Data is an important property of various organizations and it is intellectual property of organization. Every organization includes sensitive data as customer information, financial data, data of patient, personal credit card data and other information based on the kinds of management, institute or industry. For the areas like this, leakage of information is the crucial problem that the organization has to face, that poses high cost if information leakage is done. All the more definitely, information leakage is characterize as the intentional exposure of individual or any sort of information to unapproved outsiders. When the important information is goes to unapproved hands or moves towards unauthorized destination. This will prompts the direct and indirect loss of particular industry in terms of cost and time. The information leakage is outcomes in vulnerability or its modification. So information can be protected by the outsider leakages. To solve this issue there must be an efficient and effective system to avoid and protect authorized information. From not so long many methods have been implemented to solve same type of problems that are analyzed here in this survey. This paper analyzes little latest techniques and proposed novel Sampling algorithm based data leakage detection techniques
Efficient Encryption Technique for H.264/AVC Videos Based on CABAC and Logistic Map
Nowadays, the demands of real-time video communication are increased rapidly. Search and rescue(SAR) applications like earthquake rescue, avalanche victims, wildfire monitoring in addition to highway surveillance are considered examples of real-time applications. In which, communication time is considered the most important metric to be optimized to ensure support for victims’ lives. Thus finding a simple and time efficient encryption technique for securing the transmitted data become mandatory. In this paper, we present an efficient encryption technique which has low computation complexity, low processing time and highly chaotic encrypted videos. The proposed technique is based on CABAC where the bin-string of Intra-Prediction Mode is encrypted with chaotic signals and the sign of MVD is toggled randomly. For residue coefficients the sign of the AC coefficients are flipped randomly and the first value of DC coefficients is encrypted by XORing the bin-string with random stream. All random streams are generated with chaotic systems using Logistic map. The experimental results shows that the proposed technique is highly effective for real-time application and robust against different types of attacks
Intelligent Sensing Using Metal Oxide Semiconductor based on Support Vector Machine for Odor Classification
Classifying odor in real experiment presents some challenges, especially the uncertainty of the odor concentration and dispersion that can lead to a difficulty in obtaining an accurate datasets. In this study, to enhance the accuracy, datasets arrangement based on MOS sensors parameters using SVM approach for odor classification is proposed. The sensors are tested to determine the sensors' time response, sensors' peak duration, sensors' sensitivity, and sensors' stability when applied to the various sources at different range. Three sources were used in experimental test, namely: ethanol, methanol, and acetone. The gas sensors characteristics are analyzed in open sampling method to see the sensors' performance in real situation. These performances are considered as the base of choosing the position in collecting the datasets. The sensors in dynamic experiment have average of precision of 93.8 – 97.0 %, the accuracy 93.3 - 96.7 %, and the recall 93.3 - 96.7 %. This values indicates that the collected datasets can support the SVM in improving the intelligent sensing when conducting odor classification work
Automation of DMPS Manufacturing by using LabView & PLC
This Paper is to enable the Siemens (Programmable Logic Control) CPU 313-5A to communicate with the Lab VIEW and to control the process accuracy by image processing. The communication between CPU 313-5A and Lab VIEW is via OPC (OLE for Process Control).Process Accuracy is achieved with the use of Labview Image Processing and Gray Scale matching Pattern. Accuracy in the gray scale matching will purely depend on the calibration of the camera with respect to the corresponding image. The digital output from the labview is communicated to PLC via Ethernet Protocol for the industrial process control. With the use of Labview the dead time while using the normal image vision module in PLC can be minimized. Labview uses the gray scale matching technique which is more accurate than the normal image vision module used in PLC
Input Current Ripple Analysis of Multiphase PWM Inverters
This paper investigates the relationship between inverter phase number and inverter input current ripple. Analysis results show that increasing the phase number more than nine cannot provide significant input current ripple reduction. The input current ripple is not affected by the switching frequency. Simulation and experimental results are included in this paper to show the validity of the proposed analysis method
Hybrid Renewable Energy Power System Model Based on Electrification Requirements of One Fathom Bank Malaysia
Renewable energy resources are becoming inexorably in the field of generating electrical power due to the fast development of technology, given to its advantages over non-renewable energy resources. Though the source is available in enormous amount, energy produced from single renewable energy resources such as tidal current may fluctuate with the time and the hour of the day or month, depending on the tides. Thus, by having a hybrid power system consisting two or more renewable energy resources coming into play at the same time would be more reliable to support the targeted area. However, the availability of renewable energies depends on the climate change, therefore having a storage battery or backup power is often essential. In this case, the main purpose of this research is to develop an off-grid hybrid tidal current and solar power system along with backup power to support One Fathom Bank Lighthouse in Malaysia with the intention to reduce the dependency on diesel generators. Having the ability to evaluate economic and technical feasibility of power system, HOMER software is used to run simulation and analyze the best combination of components to form a hybrid power system for the lighthouse. The results are based on the best components and sizing in compliance with the load demand and diesel fuel consumption to provide a reliable and cost-effective system
The Study of Stresses on Soil From Roadways Using Plaxis To Generate Potential Energy With Piezoelectric
Environmental resources exploitation is one of the critical problems in environmental engineering. The overuse of environmental resources can lead to a huge impact for the environment and human itself. The problems of extracting and processing of raw materials from earth such as mining, steam power and machinery has increased year by year and this is the main reason that the resources has become very limited for the future generations to use them. This study is focused in designing a roadway through software analysis which will use the concept of piezoelectricity that will convert the stress energy from the roadways into electrical energy. A software which is called PLAXIS 2D will be used to simulate the stresses from the roadway which are caused by moving vehicle loading. The parameters of laterite and clay soil such as Specific Gravity, Liquid Limit, Friction Angle and Cohesion are obtained from the past research is needed for the input of the software. The loading application in the PLAXIS 2D uses the Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion in which fully drained and axisymmetric conditions were assumed. A non-uniform grid with 1726 elements was performed for the calculations on a 2-dimensional cross-sections of 11m x 3m roadway. The stresses resulted from the software are used to determine the value of stresses required for the piezoelectric to convert the stress energy into electrical energy
Parameter Estimation of DC Motor using Adaptive Transfer Function Based on Nelder-Mead Optimisation
This paper explains an adaptive method for estimation of unknown parameters of transfer function model of any system for finding the parameters. The transfer function of the model with unknown model parameters is considered as the adaptive model whose values are adapted with the experimental data. The minimization of error between the experimental data and the output of the adaptive model have been realised by choosing objective function based on different error criterions. Nelder-Mead optimisation Method is used for adaption algorithm. To prove the method robustness and for students learning, the simple system of separately excited dc motor is considered in this paper. The experimental data of speed response and corresponding current response are taken and transfer function parameters of dc motors are adapted based on Nelder-Mead optimisation to match with the experimental data. The effectiveness of estimated parameters with different objective functions are compared and validated with machine specification parameters
