Spin Pumping in NbRe-PY and Nb-Py Bilayers

    No full text
Treballs Finals de Grau de Física, Facultat de Física, Universitat de Barcelona, Curs: 2026, Tutor: Antoni García SantiagoBroadband ferromagnetic resonance measurements were performed on NbRe/Py and Nb/Py bilayers of nm thickness to characterize magnetic damping and interfacial spin transport. The extracted Gilbert damping values show no significant dependence on stacking order or on the choice of normal-state superconductor. A thickness-dependent analysis of the NbRe/Py bilayer reveals a clear increase in α with the non-magnetic layer thickness, consistent with spin-pumping-induced dissipation. These results provide a concise experimental picture of damping and spin transport in FM/NM systems involving superconducting materials in their normal stat

The construction of the ethnic-racial identity of the black child: the role of schooling in early childhood education

    No full text
This research focused on the theme of identity within the context of ethnic and racial relations in the schooling process in Early Childhood Education. Based on this idea, the general objective: To analyze how the construction of the ethnic-racial identity of Black children occurs during the schooling process in Early Childhood Education, and the specific objectives classified as: understanding which relationships are experienced by children in their daily school life and contribute to the construction of ethnic-racial identity; investigating which educational practices are carried out by teachers in order to implement Law 10.639/03 (BRAZIL, 2003), and identifying which interventions, proposals, projects, and events the school carries out that contribute to the teaching of ethnic-racial relations throughout the school year. Therefore, it is highlighted that this study is of great social relevance, since it provides na understanding of how this identity construction occurs for Black children today, who are still victims of prejudice and racial discrimination, especially in schools. However, to understand these discussions, it was necessary to rely on the theoretical contributions of the authors André (2008), Gomes (2003), Munanga (2005), Del Priori (1999), Müller e Carvalho (2009), Kulmann Jr. (2000), Sarmento (2005), and Cavalleiro (2000). Thus, this research adopts a qualitative methodological approach in education, using field research and non-participant observation, where the subjects were five teachers and their respective classes, and two administrators, one from each school, all from early childhood education located in the Municipality of Dona Inês, Paraíba, Brazil. Therefore, the results indicate that the ethno-racial construction of the black child occurs through various means, including: representative, didactic, and pedagogical resources, in addition to the conflict relationships experienced by the children, the prejudice and racial discrimination that are still present, especially in the classroom. Furthermore, the results highlighted the need for continuing education, specifically on this topic, for both teachers and administrators, since initial training, although supportive, does not address these discussions in practice.

101 contact twins in gypsum experimentally obtained from calcium carbonate enriched solutions: mineralogical implications for natural gypsum deposits.

    No full text
Gypsum twins are frequently observed in nature, triggered by a wide array of impurities that are present in their depositional environments and that may exert a critical role in the selection of different twin laws. Identifying the impurities able to promote the selection of specific twin laws has relevance for geological studies aimed at interpreting the gypsum depositional environments in ancient and modern deposits. Here, the effect of calcium carbonate (CaCO 3) on gypsum (CaSO 4 2H 2O) growth morphology has been investigated by performing temperature-controlled laboratory experiments with and without the addition of carbonate ions. The precipitation of twinned gypsum crystals has been achieved experimentally (101 contact twin law) by adding carbonate to the solution, and the involvement of rapidcreekite (Ca 2SO 4 CO 3 4H 2O) in selecting the 101 gypsum contact twin law was supported, suggesting an epitaxial mechanism. Moreover, the occurrence of 101 gypsum contact twins in nature has been suggested by comparing the natural gypsum twin morphologies observed in evaporitic environments with those obtained in experiments. Finally, both orientations of the primary fluid inclusions (of the negative crystal shape) with respect to the twin plane and the main elongation of sub-crystals that form the twin are proposed as a fast and useful method (especially in geological samples) to distinguish between the 100 and 101 twin laws. The results of this study provide new insights into the mineralogical implications of twinned gypsum crystals and their potential as a tool to better understand natural gypsum deposits

Platforms, datafication and new governance of education: An analytical framework on digital sovereignty

    No full text

Rheological study of pullulan-pectin mixtures to prepare gel beads using the drip method and evaluation as gallic acid release systems.

    No full text
Pullulan (PUL) is a polysaccharide that can form gels using sodium trimetaphosphate (STMP). This gelationoccurs at basic pH and has very slow kinetics, so that gel beads cannot be formed by the dripping method sincePUL diffuses towards the medium before it can gel. To accelerate the gelling process and be able to obtainpullulan beads, hybrid gels were formed, mixing PUL with pectin (PEC). Then, STMP was added to gel the PUL,and Ca2+ was separately added to gel the PEC for comparative purposes. In both cases, the minimum concentrationof gelling agent to obtain a gel was reduced by 90%. The gelation of these STMP-hybrid gels waspractically instantaneous, thus allowing the production of beads by dripping the polysaccharide solution in anaqueous STMP solution. The PUL-PEC gels were characterized by FT-IR, which confirmed the junction of thePUL-PEC molecules by hydrogen bonds in the gel, as well as de-esterification of methoxyl groups and ionizationof acid groups. The addition of PEC did not affect the swelling degree of the PUL gel, probably since it wasgoverned by STMP-PUL junctions, but it increased the water holding capacity, which was related to the presenceof more -OH groups to retain water by hydrogen bonds. PUL-PEC beads loaded with gallic acid were successfullyprepared by the dripping method to evaluate their suitability as delivery systems for active ingredients. Therelease profiles show that they were systems comparable to beads formed by other biopolymers and thereforecapable of adequately releasing active ingredients

Bridging the genotype-phenotype gap for a Mediterranean pine by semi-automatic crown identification and multispectral imagery

    No full text
Progress in high-throughput phenotyping and genomics provides the potential to under-stand the genetic basis of plant functional differentiation. We developed a semi-automaticmethodology based on unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) imagery for deriving tree-level pheno-types followed by genome-wide association study (GWAS). An RGB-based point cloud was used for tree crown identification in a common garden of Pinus halepensis in Spain. Crowns were combined with multispectral and thermal orthomo-saics to retrieve growth traits, vegetation indices and canopy temperature. Thereafter, GWASwas performed to analyse the association between phenotypes and genomic variation at 235single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). Growth traits were associated with 12 SNPs involved in cellulose and carbohydratemetabolism. Indices related to transpiration and leaf water content were associated with sixSNPs involved in stomata dynamics. Indices related to leaf pigments and leaf area were associ-ated with 11 SNPs involved in signalling and peroxisome metabolism. About 16–20% of traitvariance was explained by combinations of several SNPs, indicating polygenic control of mor-pho-physiological traits. Despite a limited availability of markers and individuals, this study is provides a successfulproof-of-concept for the combination of high-throughput UAV-based phenotyping withcost-effective genotyping to disentangle the genetic architecture of phenotypic variation in awidespread conife

The material reality of the carolingian monasteries in the catalan counties through written sources. a re‑reading of the archive documentation from an archaeological point of view

    No full text
Starting from this premise, in this paper, I will analyse all the references to the structure of these monasteries and their materiality that appear in the written sources of the 9th and 10th centuries. Doing so, I will provide new data to think about the conception of monastic centres in that period, their internal topography and the monastic ideal behind them
