The main objective of the research was to assess the level and quality of links between vocational schools and businesses, and to identify directions for action to better adapt vocational education to the needs of the regional labor market and innovation processes.The authors of the report adopted a broad research perspective, combining an analysis of the theoretical foundations of the concept of smart specializations with an assessment of the practical experiences of cooperation between schools and enterprises. The study provides a detailed characterization of the region’s smart specializations and relates them to the challenges arising from the 4.0 and 5.0 industrial transformations. Tematem były współczesne wyzwania nauczania języka polskiego jako obcego, a także zagadnienia kultury, literatury, dyplomacji kulturalnej, politologii i realioznawstwa.W tomie zebrano artykuły prezentujące szerokie spektrum tematów – od glottodydaktyki i metodyki nauczania studentów chińskojęzycznych, przez praktyczne rozwiązania w dydaktyce, po refleksje nad relacjami polsko-chińskimi w języku, historii i literaturze. Nie zabrakło też głosu młodego pokolenia chińskich polonistów – ich spojrzenie na teksty kultury wnosi świeżość i nową energię. No full textCONTEXTUAL DICTIONARY OF THE LEMKO LANGUAGE
Although the concept of a contextual dictionary does not generally function in lexicography, we have used it in order to emphasize the specific function of this dictionary, which is to capture the specificity of the Lemko language not only in terms of its lexical and semantic aspects, but also in terms of its entire structure of expression and verbal interaction. We are including this dictionary in the revitalization efforts undertaken for the highly endangered Lemko language, understanding its disappearance not only in quantitative terms (number of users), but also in qualitative terms (assimilation into the dominant language). The nuances of meaning of given lexemes, captured in context and meticulously activated in our dictionary, are part of an immersive revitalization method. In the case of minority languages, only this method of revitalization can be effective. On this basis, the multifunctional nature of the dictionary and the methodology of working on it are developed. The dictionary fulfills an explanatory/defining, normative, and cultural function. It strives to refer to the living, spoken language preserved in texts to the greatest extent possible. Therefore, it does not introduce highly organizing and schematizing norms for constructing dictionary entries, leaving the definition of entries to the individual choices and linguistic intuition of the authors of the basic version of these entries. This reflects the natural diversity of expression in a language that is based more on mechanisms of intra-community communication than on institutional support aimed at standardization, efficiency, and economy of communication. The dictionary was initially compiled by a team of revitalizers who were not professional lexicographers, but mostly native speakers (in the case of three people, neo-speakers) of the Lemko language. Naturally acquired linguistic forms and habits from the family environment were combined with patterns of definition developed mainly on the basis of the dominant language (Polish, and to a lesser extent Ukrainian or Russian) and the guidelines necessary for such a project, which had to be formulated at the beginning of the work and were subject to clarification or modification during the course of the work. The lexical material was drawn mainly from a text corpus developed by the team, which contains 1,891 Lemko-language texts published after 1945. The corpus also includes some Lemko dictionaries and lexicographical materials collected during field research or interviews conducted, for example, during the recording of documentary films. Texts from Lemko-language websites were also included. Sometimes the context was taken from so-called living speech, i.e., the use of a given lexeme recorded during conversations within the family or among friends. The valuable and diverse dictionary material prepared on the basis of these lexical resources underwent further significant editorial work. This work was not aimed at standardizing the material or making it similar to other highly systematized dictionaries. It focused mainly on revitalization and consisted primarily of adapting definitions that were artificial for the Lemko language, often copied from other dictionaries, to expressions and forms more appropriate to it. For example, noun forms, mainly verbal nouns, which were common in definitions, were replaced as far as possible with original verbal expressions more typical of indigenous languages. Particular attention was paid to lexical and structural Polonisms, frequent calques, and borrowings from Polish, and less frequently from Ukrainian. An important methodological assumption of the dictionary is the absence of translations into other languages. Knowing the situation of the Lemko language, which is increasingly using Polish language structures filled with Lemko vocabulary (very often direct calques from Polish), we believe that providing a database of such equivalents will weaken rather than strengthen the condition of this endangered language. Therefore, we consistently use language immersion.Контекстуальный словник лемківского языка возник на двох основных принципах – ревіталізацийным і іммерсийным. Входжыня в глубину семантычных значынь громадженых докола головного госла было фасцинуюче і втігаюче в самобытный культуровый простір, розвивало вникливіст і рефлексию. Тяжка і вымагаюча великой волі была конечніст самопоправляня готовых уж схем, якы вказували ся блудны, бо взяты были з домінуючой языковой системы, в якій сме придбали освіту і фунґуєме в вельох сферах нашого жытя. Языкова материя верифікувала іх сперечніст ци непридатніст для лемківского языка. Нехосенне і нестарчаюче вказало ся одвзоровуваня готовых словниковых дефініций, якє початково здавало ся простом методом працы. Зато ефект, єст полным заанґажуваня ділом актывных хоснуватели лемківского языка як іх рідного і оддзеркалят природный його стан і днешню жывотніст. In 1854, in the pages of Przegląd Poznański, a feature article ‘Tien-te and the Present Rebellion in China’ was published. It was dedicated to the Taiping great uprising that spread across China in the 19th century. This exceptional text, although forgotten today, constitutes a unique example of the Polish press interest in foreign events during the times of the partitions. For the next 150 years, no equally extensive material was published in Poland about this tragic war whose deadly toll was exceeded only by conflicts of the 20th century. The article, after being kept in libraries for many years, became again available due to digitisation, which prompted its analysis.The book pursues three main goals: a closer look at the history of the Taiping Rebellion, providing readers with an original source text and the analysis of uprising origins and paths through which the information from China arrived in Polish lands. The first part of the publication comprises the text from Przegląd Poznański, updated for spelling and punctuation, but with maintaining the original page numbering. It is enriched with numerous substantive footnotes that are intended to facilitate the modern reader understanding of the historical context and correcting inaccuracies.W 1854 roku w „Przeglądzie Poznańskim” ukazał się obszerny, kilkudziesięciostronicowy artykuł pt. No full textHOW TO SPELL UKRAINIAN CORRECTLY: HANDBOOK OF SPELLING AND PUNCTUATION FOR FOREIGNERS
The handbook is intended for those who are learning Ukrainian as a foreign language and want to deepen their knowledge of its spelling. It is the first work in the history of foreign Ukrainian studies devoted exclusively to the issues of spelling and punctuation, taking into account the rules of Ukrainian spelling from 2019. The textbook consists of two parts. The first one includes 20 topics in the areas of orthography and punctuation, as well as exercises and tests to master the material. The second part includes tests to verify knowledge in these areas. Among the proposed topics are also those that are not always represented in Ukrainian language textbooks designed for Ukrainians, but are relevant for foreigners. All of the tests and some of the exercises were competition tasks at the National Ukrainian Spelling Contest (2006–2015) and the International Ukrainian Spelling Contest (2016–present), organized by the Jagiellonian University. For hundreds of foreign students learning Ukrainian, they were a real test of their knowledge of its orthography. We recommend the handbook to all those who want to improve their comprehension of the spelling rules of the language.Jak poprawnie pisać po ukraińsku. Podręcznik ortografii i interpunkcji dla obcokrajowców przeznaczony jest dla tych, którzy uczą się języka ukraińskiego jako obcego i chcą pogłębić swoją znajomość jego pisowni. Jest to pierwsza praca w historii zagranicznych studiów ukrainistycznych poświęcona wyłącznie zagadnieniom ortografii i interpunkcji, uwzględniająca zasady pisowni ukraińskiej od 2019 roku. Podręcznik składa się z dwóch części. Pierwsza obejmuje 20 tematów z obszaru zasad pisowni oraz ćwiczenia i testy pozwalające opanować materiał. Druga zawiera testy sprawdzające wiedzę z zakresu ortografii i interpunkcji. Wśród proponowanych tematów znajdują się również takie, które nie zawsze są reprezentowane w podręcznikach do języka ukraińskiego przeznaczonych dla Ukraińców, ale są istotne dla obcokrajowców. Wszystkie testy i część ćwiczeń były zadaniami konkursowymi na Ogólnopolskim Konkursie Ortograficznym z Języka Ukraińskiego (2006–2015) i Międzynarodowym Konkursie Ortograficznym z Języka Ukraińskiego (2016–obecnie), które organizował Uniwersytet Jagielloński. Separation of powers is one of the cornerstone principles of American constitutional law. However, while the implementation of this principle at the federal level has been extensively studied, there is a relative paucity of comparative research on separation of powers at the state level. The present book seeks to fill that gap by comprehensively analyzing how separation of powers operates at the state level. The book focuses on three principal research questions:First: What are the key differences between state and federal versions of the separation of powers?Second: Where do significant interstate variations appear?Third: Do similarities between the states reflect shared political traditions, nationwide historical influences or interstate constitutional dialogue?The book consists of six chapters.Zasada podziału władz (ang. separation of powers) ma centralne znaczenie dla amerykańskiego prawa konstytucyjnego, zarówno na szczeblu federalnym, jak i stanowym. To wokół niej zbudowana jest cała struktura wszystkich konstytucji amerykańskich, wyraźnie wyodrębniających władzę ustawodawczą, wykonawczą i sądowniczą oraz traktujących o każdej z nich w odrębnej jednostce systematyki ogólnej. Ona również wytycza sferę kompetencji najważniejszych organów stanu i określa normy, na których opierają się ich wzajemne relacje i interakcje. Ona wreszcie była postrzegana przez twórców konstytucjonalizmu amerykańskiego jako kluczowy element konstytucyjnego systemu hamulców mających z jednej strony zapewnić ograniczenie władzy publicznej, z drugiej zaś — skuteczną ochronę wolności jednostki. Podstawowym przedmiotem zainteresowania niniejszej rozprawy jest trójpodział władz na szczeblu stanowym.
