The 3rd Occupational Safety and Health proceedings book is a compilation of the most recent works of students, researchers and professors within the domain of occupational safety and health. The included works are focused on selected topics regarding ergonomics, safety, and health.This proceedings book represents the state of the art and it is mainly based on research carried out at Universities and other research institutions, as well as some case studies. In its scope, this book contains useful and up-to-date information, giving visibility to emerging issues and presenting new solutions in the field of occupational safety and health.The proceedings books is based on selected contributions from the 3rd Doctoral Congress in Engineering, held on the 27th and 28th of June, at Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto, in Porto, Portugal. All the included contributions were revised by, at least, 2 of the 31 international scientific committee members
Fundamentos do Corte: Teoria e Exercícios
Este livro apresenta uma descrição dos princípios básicos do corte de metais e em particular do corte ortogonal, procurando fornecer ao leitor conhecimentos fundamentais para o melhor entendimento dos processos de maquinagem convencionais. O livro descreve os mecanismos de formação de apara e apresenta um modelo analítico clássico para descrição da mecânica do corte ortogonal, que permite avaliar os esforços envolvidos no processo, tendo por base a resistência do material. O modelo apresentado foi proposto originalmente por Eugene Merchant, sendo este autor considerado um dos principais impulsionadores dos estudos teóricos sobre o corte. Para além da descrição do modelo e aspetos teóricos subjacentes, este livro apresenta um conjunto de exercícios resolvidos e exercícios propostos, visando providenciar aos leitores ferramentas para consolidação de conhecimentos. Este livro também procura extrapolar os conhecimentos adquiridos com a análise do corte ortogonal para a análise de situações de torneamento e fresagem.
Este livro tem como público-alvo sobretudo estudantes de engenharia interessados no estudo dos processos de fabrico. Dinâmica e Sistemas Dinâmicos
Este livro destina-se a alunos universitários do primeiro ano de ciências e engenharia. Espera-se que o aluno tenha alguns conhecimentos de álgebra linear e de cálculo infinitesimal e diferencial. Com o desenvolvimento dos computadores pessoais, o tipo de problemas que podem ser resolvidos numa disciplina introdutória de física aumentou significativamente. As técnicas de computação e simulação permitem ao aluno desenvolver uma visão geral de um problema de física, sem ter de aprender métodos analíticos complicados. As técnicas computacionais inicialmente desenvolvidas para resolver problemas de mecânica têm sido aplicadas com sucesso em domínios exteriores à física, dando origem à teoria geral dos sistemas dinâmicos. O objetivo é transmitir ao leitor conhecimentos básicos de mecânica e dos métodos computacionais usados para resolver sistemas dinâmicos. É usado o Sistema de Computação Algébrica (CAS) Maxima para facilitar a resolução dos problemas.
O tema central do livro é a mecânica, incluindo-se também alguns temas contemporâneos, como sistemas não lineares e sistemas caóticos. A abordagem adotada situa-se no âmbito da mecânica clássica, admitindo-se a existência de um espaço absoluto e de um tempo absoluto, independentes dos observadores. Os seis primeiros capítulos seguem o programa tradicional das disciplinas de introdução à mecânica para estudantes de ciências e engenharia, sem incluir sistemas de vários corpos nem mecânica dos fluidos. O capítulo 7 é uma introdução aos sistemas dinâmicos. O capítulo 8 aborda a mecânica lagrangiana e os capítulos 9, 10 11 e 12 são sobre sistemas dinâmicos
14th Doctoral Symposium in Informatics Engineering (DSIE\u2719): Proceedings
DSIE - Doctoral Symposium in Informatics Engineering, now in its 14th Edition, is an opportunity for the PhD students of ProDEI (Doctoral Program in Informatics Engineering of FEUP) and MAP-tel (Doctoral Program in Telecommunications of Universities of Minho, Aveiro and Porto) to show up and prove they are ready for starting their respective theses work. Each year DSIE Proceedings include papers addressing different topics according to the current students’ interest in Informatics. This year, the tendency is on Software Engineering and Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Text Mining and Telecommunications. The complete DSIE’19 meeting lasts one entire day and includes one invited talk by an academic researcher
