No full textOne hundred years ago Gaetano Mosca began teaching “Storia delle dottrine e delle istituzioni politiche” (History of political doctrines and institutions) at the University of Rome. What does it mean to study political theory today, at the end of the first quarter of the 21st century? Can the so-called ‘traditional canon’, which includes only Western authors, still be accepted as a canon, after the emergence of a global, comparative, history of political theory? What is the relationship between political philosophy, politics and the history of political thought? According to the author, we should try to go beyond the theorization and politicization of the history of political thought, renouncing a predominantly philosophical method to adopt a contextualist approach, which should include the scholar's self-contextualization

Inflammation and genetics in myo-pericardial diseases: Insights from the Italian Study Group on Cardiomyopathies and Pericardial Diseases
No full textIn the past decade, advancements in knowledge on the immune system have partially unveiled the complex interplay between the heart and the immune system. This new branch of cardiology is now called cardio-immunology. It encompasses different areas from preclinical to translational and purely clinical research aiming to identify the relationship between the immune system and different cardiovascular diseases. Inflammatory cardiomyopathies are a heterogeneous subgroup of non-ischaemic cardiomyopathies characterized by left ventricular, or biventricular, dysfunction after an inflammatory insult. Recently, genetic testing allowed to identify specific genotype–phenotype correlation in the diagnosis and, mostly, in the prognosis of different cardiomyopathies. Some pathogenic variants might lead to a clinical phenotype in overlap with inflammatory myocardial diseases and inflammation can be found in cardiac magnetic resonance or endomyocardial biopsies of different cardiomyopathies. Although prognostic predictors of adverse events and indication to immunosuppressive therapies have been identified in myocarditis, data are lacking in the context of genetic cardiomyopathies presenting myocardial inflammation. As for pericardial diseases, genetic variants in immune-related genes, such as IL1B have been described, specifically in recurrent pericarditis. A growing body of evidence starting form genetics and cardio-immunology are trying to elucidate the basic mechanisms of the disease and may play a significant role in the understanding the pathophysiology and potentially the treatment of patients. Some examples are represented by arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy presenting with hot-phases or biopsy-proven myocarditis presenting genetic mutations in specific genes as TTN or DSP. The aim of this review paper is to highlight the current knowledge and the unmet clinical needs, providing a practical and concise guidance for specific areas of research and management of patients affected by myo-pericardial diseases with overlap between genetics and inflammation, ranging from genetic testing to medical and device therapy

No full textThis paper explores the role of business games (BG) in fostering knowledge sharing within organizational training programs. The study highlights the potential of BG to enhance employee engagement and knowledge retention, addressing limitations of traditional training methods. The research focuses on organizations in Southern Italy and demonstrates the valuable opportunities for strategic leaders to manage training and knowledge sharing. The first results show that game-based training positively influenced employee engagement, boosting the ability to retain and apply knowledge effectively at work. The study contributes to the fields of knowledge management and organizational learning. Future research will extend the study to the national level, exploring how cultural and organizational characteristics specific to the Italian context may influence the effectiveness of professional training. This will enhance the contribution of the research and provide insights for strategic leaders

Electrocatalysis: Prospects and Role to Enable an E‐Chemistry Future
No full textElectrocatalysis is a crucial technology that will enable future low-carbon chemical production and energy beyond fossil fuels. Notwithstanding the intense and growing research in the area, the potentialities of the field are largely unexplored. We provide case examples and discuss emerging possibilities that have still not been investigated enough but are necessary to exploit this potential and enable future e-chemistry. Starting from defining trends and setting the scene, as well as clarifying the difference between electrochemistry and electrocatalysis, some elements of this vision to foster innovation in the field are discussed. The aim is to stimulate discussion and reflection rather than review the state-of-the-art. Aspects discussed regard i) passing from electro to photoelectrocatalytic approaches, ii) the possibilities of making chemicals from the air, iii) the exploitation of both anodic and cathodic reactions, as well as tandem/paired electrocatalytic reactions, and iv) emerging possibilities for anodic selective oxidation and mediated synthesis. Priorities and strategies to enable an e-chemistry future are discussed. Intensifying research in these directions and extending the still-too-limited current approaches, including in modelling and design, is the necessary effort to accelerate the realisation of a distributed future e-chemistry
Understanding and managing problematic-behaviors in education
No full textIncreasingly, teachers and educators are being called upon to address and manage a range of
challenging behaviors (e.g., aggressive and self-injurious conduct, motor restlessness, defiant and irritating attitudes, disruptive behaviors, etc.). This educational emergency appears to be widespread across all developmental ages and various areas of everyday life (home, school, sports activities, etc.). This contribution outlines a pathway for understanding, analyzing, and intervening in so-called “problem behaviors” within educational and school settings. The phenomenon is examined through a psychoeducational lens, highlighting how such behaviors are not merely disruptive actions but signals to be interpreted within their functional and relational context. Central to this approach is the application of functional analysis: a methodology that begins with the systematic observation of antecedents and consequences to identify the motivations sustaining the problematic behavior. This allows a shift from a superficial interpretation to a deeper understanding of the context and the dynamics involved.
The work emphasizes how teachers’ and practitioners’ implicit beliefs regarding the definition, causes, and management of behavior influence the strategies they adopt. Exploring these representations is a necessary step to foster change and professional awareness. Furthermore, it is stressed that it is not sufficient to intervene only with the individual student; it is also necessary to act on the broader context to ensure equity and participation. A set of practical guidelines is also provided for the design, implementation, and evaluation of psychoeducational interventions. Particular attention is given to educational strategies, both positive, aimed at prevention, and negative, focused on managing consequences.
Both approaches require a systemic and collaborative framework that involves parents, teachers, educators, and other key stakeholders. In conclusion, the text offers a practical and reflective guide for addressing problematic behaviors in a conscious and shared manner, promoting inclusive educational environments that support the wellbeing of all individuals involved
