Passage à l’acte suicidaire des mères en période de post-partum
No full textInternational audienceAimsThe aim of our study is to explore the mechanisms that come into play in cases of suicidal acts during the post-partum period. Our starting point is to emphasize the importance of multidisciplinary support – psychological, medical and social – in establishing a multifaceted network for parents during and after pregnancy. Additionally, the link between post-partum depression and suicidal behavior is discussed, as are the different types of risk factors.MethodOur method consists of a review of the literature on the issues involved in supporting women in the ante- and post-partum periods, to prevent or support post-partum depression, and any resulting acts of aggression. These observations are then supported through the study of a clinical case illustrating the blind spots in the care system, which can leave certain subjects out in the cold. The clinical case illustrates the desire to have a child, the use of drugs during the perinatal period and the consequences of confinement in France during the post-partum period.ResultsThe results of our study show that the post-partum suicidal trajectory is multifactorial, originating in the antepartum period, combining endogenous and exogenous factors, as well as society's supposed expectations of the mother-to-be. It should also be noted that support for mothers suffering from post-partum depression is often uneven in the different regions of the country, due to a lack of resources in terms of staff or structure, sometimes allowing the patient to slip through the net of care, leading her to act out. Information and training for professionals on the issue of the post-partum period and its possible repercussions on the mother's behavior are essential for better prevention and rapid treatment. Sometimes, depression is diagnosed during pregnancy, which facilitates treatment and speeds up contact with professionals to provide the best possible support for the mother during her perinatal period.ConclusionWe note, however, that multidisciplinary support for suicidal women helps limit the risk of the symptoms worsening and the risk of the patient acting on them. We emphasize and encourage concerted work and cooperation between institutional professionals and independent professionals in the psychiatric, medical, and social fields, to establish the multidisciplinary network needed to support all women, as they become mothers. Multidisciplinary support for mothers is essential during the perinatal period. Of course, we need to consider the importance of the health professional's work, but the family, spouse, and friends are also essential resources for the mother's well-being, and it is important to include them in this support network

Hyperparameter Tuning for Self-Organizing Maps
No full textInternational audienceSelf-Organizing Maps (SOMs) are widely used across a wide range of domains, including visualization, feature map generation, pattern recognition, and classification. Despite their simplicity, SOMs are able to effectively reduce the dimensionality of data while preserving its inherent structure, making it easier to analyze and interpret complex datasets. In this paper, we propose a methodology for hyperparameter tuning in SOMs, highlighting the importance of key parameters and optimization techniques to enhance SOMs performance. We benefit from SMAC, a powerful tool for optimizing SOMs parameters. Our experimental results, based on a real case study, demonstrate that careful tuning of these parameters is crucial for achieving optimal convergence and avoiding overfitting or excessive computational costs. By implementing these advanced tuning methods, it is possible to significantly enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and applicability of SOMs in diverse data analysis contexts

No full textThis article responds to Anne Lécu's critique of deliverance prayers published in Études magazine in May 2024. The author, Jean-Baptiste Edart, defends the legitimacy of these prayers while acknowledging the need for pastoral vigilance. He particularly challenges the interpretation of his views on demonic action, explaining that his perspective is grounded in Thomistic theology and clearly distinguishes between different types of causality (material, formal, and final). He emphasizes the importance of an approach that integrates spiritual, psychological, and physical dimensions of the person while maintaining their distinction. The article also highlights the potential for productive collaboration between spiritual accompaniment and psychiatry, notably citing the historical example of Dr. Alain Assailly.Cet article est une réponse à Anne Lécu concernant sa critique des prières de libération publiée dans la revue Études en mai 2024. Jean-Baptiste Edart défend la légitimité de ces prières tout en reconnaissant la nécessité d'une vigilance pastorale. Il conteste notamment l'interprétation de ses propos sur l'action démoniaque, expliquant que sa perspective s'appuie sur la théologie thomiste et distingue clairement les différentes causalités (matérielle, formelle et finale). Il souligne l'importance d'une approche intégrant les dimensions spirituelle, psychologique et physique de la personne, tout en maintenant leur distinction.
