Get PDFSummary: The formulation of the promise of the oracle of Jeremiah (Jr 31:33-34) is of great relevance. Jr 31:33 speaks of the law “written in our hearts” as the principle of interiority, which would characterise the New Covenant. In order to understand the written word in a way that is consistent, its exegesis would have to proceed by seeking the meaning of the written word by starting from the interior word. The second priority is that proclaimed by the text of Jr 31: 34 “There will be no further need for everyone to teach neighbour or brother, saying, ‘Learn to know YHWH!’ No, they will all know me, from the least to the greatest”. This is the law of the priority of the personal understanding of the interior word with respect to the external exegesis of the letter of the text. This explains the reason for the principle established by Vatican II, according to which “the Scripture must be read and interpreted in the same Spirit in which it was written” (DV 12). This principle locates the priority in reading the Bible in the homogeneity between the reading of Scripture and its underlying reality of belonging essentially to the New Covenant, like a law written in the interiority of the heart.

Sommario: La formulazione della promessa dell’oracolo di Geremia (Gr 31, 33-34) è di grande attualità. Gr 31, 33 parla della legge scritta sul cuore come il principio dell'interiorità che caratterizzerebbe la Nuova Alleanza. L’esegesi, per comprendere la lettera scritta in modo omogeneo, dovrebbe procedere cercando il significato della lettera a partire dalla parola interiore. La seconda priorità è dichiarata dal testo di Gr 31, 34: “Nessuno istruirà più il suo compagno o il proprio fratello, dicendo: ʽConoscete YHWH!”, poiché tutti mi conosceranno, dal più piccolo al più grande”. Questa è la legge della priorità della comprensione personale della parola interiore rispetto all’esegesi esterna della lettera del testo. Questo spiega la ragione del principio stabilito dal Vaticano II secondo cui “la Scrittura deve essere letta e interpretata con lo stesso Spirito con cui è stata scritta” (DV, 12). Questo principio pone la priorità della lettura biblica nell’omogeneità tra la lettura della Scrittura e la sua realtà profonda, dell’appartenenza essenziale alla Nuova Alleanza, come una legge scritta sull’interno del cuore.

Get PDFSummary: Solitude is a complex, multi-dimensional psychological construct, with features which are both negative and positive. Solitude can be: 1) an objective condition of being alone (aloneness), due to the concrete lack of reference points which may offer moral, material, emotive or affective support; 2) a condition which is sought intentionally in order to avoid others defensively (social isolation), protecting oneself from unpleasant emotions or from social anxiety; 3) a condition which is perceived subjectively as negative (loneliness), when, even though being in the company of someone else, someone “feels alone” and separated from other persons. 4) a positive condition which is sought out (solitude), in order to satisfy the need for recollection, reflection, interior order, privacy. In the West, individualism and the crisis in inter-personal relationships renders people in the contemporary world vulnerable to solitude, a perception aggravated by the COVID-19 pandemic, which imposes isolation, restrictions and social distancing. To construct and to maintain inter-personal relationships and to rediscover solitude as a space for privacy with oneself and with God, as a place to inhabit and not as a place from which to keep away, could constitute factors of a positive kind against the risk of psycho-pathology.
