L’accompagnamento spirituale nella pastorale ecclesiale
Summary: In the Christian tradition spiritual accompaniment has always assumed a role of fundamental importance for the growth of countless men and women, who, allowing themselves to be guided by a spirit of docility, have been able to attain to extraordinary heights of holiness. Nowadays, with the de-Christianisation which our society is experiencing, spiritual accompaniment remains more than ever necessary and is a matter of urgency for priests, but also for committed lay persons, in order that they not be suffocated by pastoral work and by the frenetic nature of modern living. The spiritual life of those who embark sincerely upon a path of faith will be incapable of true growth unless it is accompanied by people within the ecclesial community who are willing to place themselves at the disposal of other persons. In a world in which people are propelled more and more to live outside of themselves, the “direction” to be proposed to them is that which leads to what is within them, in the intimacy of their soul, in which God dwells. It is necessary, therefore, to form masters of the spirit who are adequate to the task, guiding the faithful with patience, inviting them ever more to begin once again, without allowing themselves to be discouraged by their limits as persons and by their failings.Key words: spiritual direction, spiritual accompaniment, interior life, spirituality, pastoral work, catechetics, pastoral workers.

“Il ruolo delle università pontificie nell’evangelizzazione della cultura alla luce della Costituzione Veritatis gaudium”
Summary: Following the thought of Pope Francis in the Constitution, Veritatis gaudium, the author offers three points of fundamental importance for consideration. 1. To provide a synthetic summary of those elements which have accompanied the changes in ecclesiastical studies from the Council up to our own days, in relation to the evangelisation of culture. 2. To recover clearly the paradigm which underlies the thought of Pope Francis and which we find especially in the exhortation Evangelii gaudium, as indeed in his teachings and in his gestures as a whole. 3. To show how the relationship between the structuring of ecclesiastical studies and the evangelisation of culture should be expressed in some of the choices which are to be made in the course of time. The framework which emerges from these emphases is that of a “Catholic” thought, which understands the Church and life as a complexio oppositorum, as an agonising struggle to pacify conflicts, to prevent these polarities from dissolving themselves manichaeistically into contradictions. This is the framework which constantly accompanies the magisterium of the Pope and it is one which has decisive relevance for the relationship between evangelisation and culture. The author develops the consequences of this approach for catholic education, especially in the pontifical universities.
Key words: evangelisation, culture, ecclesiastical studies, Veritatis gaudium, Evangelii gaudium, (Pope) Francis, Catholic education, university, mission, a trans-disciplinary approach, integral formation.

La conformità della volontà umana con quella divina nella Somma Teologica di San Tommaso d’Aquino (seconda parte)
Summary: In what way can the human will be conformed with the divine Will? That is the subject of this article. The inquiry focuses primarily on St. Thomas Aquinas’ Summa Theologiae, Ia-IIae, quaestio 19, a question that specifically concerns the subject from a moralperspective. Is it possible that man would dare to make such a claim? If it is possible, how could it be brought about? The article traces the footsteps of St. Thomas, who faces this problem, well aware of the enormous importance it represents, and also aware that we standbefore one of the greatest mysteries of human and Christian life.
Key Words: conformity, Will of God, Will of the Father, obedience, self-abandonment to the divine will.
