    L’animazione dell’embrione in Alberto Magno e Tommaso d’Aquino (Parti III e IV)

    Get PDF
Summary: The article develops the different opinions of Albert the Great and of Thomas Aquinas on the theme of the spiritual animation of the embryo (agents, causality, process, moment), to which they apply their encyclopaedic medical erudition and their philosophical knowledge of an Aristotelian approach. The article presents the difficulties which they found in the face of the very incomplete medical science of their time, which rendered more reasonable the thesis of a delayed animation of the embryo, up to the 40th day. Albert explains the dynamic of animation as similar to the art involved in the practical intellect. Thomas, on the other hand, seeks to save a certain autonomous substantiality of the embryo once it is more defined, in which the embryo proceeds under the totipotent energy of the semen, and he articulates its development through a graduated series of successive generations. The appendix offers the translation of two texts of Albert and of one of Thomas. Los Fundamentos onto-teológicos de la Filosofía Política de Alberto Magno

Summary: The thought proposed by St. Dominic de Guzmán to the Order of Preachers attained its first academic and systematic expression in the work of Albert the Great. The vita activa is an out-pouring of the vita contemplativa within time. Both of these lives constitute what, in the Dominican tradition, is called the vita apostolica. The aim of this paper is to show that contemplation not only guides moral and political action, but that it also basically transforms that action. Men are not only good because they can offer a rational answer about God being the first cause, but also because, by contemplating the God who has revealed Himself and His Work, they decide to implement the model which He provides in politicallife, by means of the virtus política. Key Words: Intellectus, ordo politicus, vita contemplativa, vita activa, vita apostolica, virtus politica.

    Get PDF
Summary: The Author stresses the need to put back at the center of the Church's evangelizing and missionary identity. Evangelization is the task of all the baptized and involves giving an account of one's faith; the missionary spirit adds a specific availability: that of proclaiming the Gospel wherever the name of Jesus has not been proclaimed. The author, therefore, reviews the challenges and ways of solving that the current situation of the world poses to the missionary spirit and explains its ongoing metamorphosis. If, in the past, the transmission of the faith was built around the figure of the missionary and the birth of the Church, today we feel the need for people and peoples to find themselves in the Church as at home. Hence the need to give life to a transmission of the Gospel that combines inculturation, interculturality and fraternity. Against all discouragement, it must be kept in mind that no transmission of the Gospel of Jesus would be possible if the Word and the Holy Spirit were not the first witnesses of the Gospel. Key words: Evangelization, being missionary, mission, inculturation, interculturality, fraternity, relativism, globalization, dialogue, transmission of the Gospel. Parole chiave: Evangelizzazione, missionarietà, missione, inculturazione, interculturalità fraternità, relativismo, globalizzazione, dialogo, trasmissione del Vangelo

Educati al “desiderio” partendo dalla Bibbia

    Get PDF
Summary: Unlike other religious confessions, desire occupies a fundamental place in biblical revelation to the point of constituting a specific element in the relationship with God. The desire that arises from the wish to live can end with death, if someone gives way to the temptation to put their own self in the place of God or if they fail to measure up to the right relationship with others, turning them into an object instead of meeting them as a subject. “Do not covet” or “do not desire” in the commandments does not mean to suppress or to demonise the desires, but rather to educate them and to direct them towards the good. Therefore, we analyze desire as it is found in the sapiential and in the Gospel traditions, in such a way as to focus upon the educational-pedagogical criteria necessary to transmit to the next generations the ability to desire, since in today's society this capacity has been lost. Key words: desire, gift, need, biblical revelation, relationship, education, the pedagogy of desire, blessing, transmission, happiness. Parole chiave: desiderio, dono, bisogno, rivelazione biblica, relazione, educazione, pedagogia del desiderio, benedizione, trasmissione, felicità
