Medication error reporting can be one most effective strategies to achieve these goals. Indeed, high error reporting rates indicate a positive safety culture rather than an unsafe healthcare environment. It is through the identification of these errors safety barriers can be put in place to prevent a similar event from occurring in the future. However, current healthcare organizations still suffer from a lack of attention in this context, especially in establishing a digital tool dedicated to medication error reporting, which is the motivation for the work described in this paper. The latter proposes a novel tool to make the local reporting of medication errors easier and encourage reporting these errors with the healthcare professionals' confidentially. The overall response to the tool provided was positive from the staff participating

The construction of such a schedule will have a direct impact on the quality of service and the finances of this call center. Of great importance is knowing when and how to assess this agent schedule despite the uncertainties of how the day will actually unfold. The answers to these questions and their contribution to maintaining a certain level of performance are explored. Through discrete-event simulation, we were able to simulate different agent schedules of a call center for the disabled community, anonymized as the abbreviation ANGUS. Our results indicate the capability of evaluating schedules based on the simulation’s predicted outcomes. With such insight, it is indeed possible to meet the performance criteria objectives developed by ANGUS
Supercritical CO2 assisted foam extrusion for aeronautical sandwich structure manufacturing
International audienceSandwich structures represent a very interesting approach for the development of new multifunctional and lightweight materials for aerospace and space applications. Nomex® or aluminum honeycomb is at this date the most widely used core materials for sandwich structures, given their extraordinary strength-to-weight-ratio. However, these materials exhibit some important drawbacks as a poor vibrational and acoustic damping, along with a limited impact energy absorption capability. Several studies are in progress in order to develop new composite materials with enhanced acoustic and vibrational damping properties. A very promising solution to overcome these issues is represented by thermoplastic foams, having several advantages as ease of processing, good impact energy absorption, recyclability and enhanced properties in terms of thermal and acoustic isolation, along with the possibility to modify their intrinsic properties through micro and nano-particles addition.A relatively new and promising technique to develop thermoplastic foams is represented by supercritical CO2 (sc-CO2) assisted foam extrusion, with sc-CO2 acting as Physical Blowing Agent (PBA). Sc-CO2 has limited environmental impact, given its low toxicity and energetic requirements to attain its supercritical conditions (31 C, 74 bars), making this process economic, sustainable and totally green. In the frame of this work, a continuous process has been used to produce PLA foams with different microstructures depending on the operating conditions. Typical densities range from 20 to 60 kg/m3, crystallinity from 10 to 30 % and cell size from 90 to 500 µm

Sampling molecular state transitions in a line-by-line Monte Carlo approach to estimate radiative forcing for climate change studies
International audienceA major challenge of the beginning of the century is the nation’s actions over the terrestrial climate to counter the global warming. This warming is caused by the human activity and in particular by the emission of important amounts of greenhouse gases. Its close understanding and precise estimate are necessary to take appropriate actions and one of the driving concepts along this line is radiative forcing. This forcing is defined as the difference between two Top Of Atmosphere (TOA) radiative fluxes, both integrated spatially over all the Earth and temporally over a climatic period, the difference being due to a change of one single parameter. Here we focus on the forcing to carbon dioxide. So, our question is the estimation of the difference between two integrated TOA fluxes, before and after we change the CO2 concentration field
Thermodynamic analysis in laminar falling film evaporator
International audienceAn evaporative laminar falling film flowing by gravity on a vertical plate heated by a heat transfer fluid is studied to determine the local temperature, entropy generation and evaporated mass flow, assuming constant saturation pressure at the free interface, in co-current and counter-current configurations. The heat transfer fluid and film energy equations are solved simultaneously through a 2D model using an implicit finite difference scheme. Local and global analysis were performed in order to study the impact of parameters such as the heat transfer fluid and film Reynolds numbers and inlet film temperature on entropy generation (thermal and viscous irreversibilities) and on thermal and evaporation efficiencies. Results show that the increase of the overall thermal entropy generation leads to the increase of the evaporated mass flow rate. Both increase with the increase of the heat transfer fluid Reynolds number and decreases with the increase of the film Reynolds number for both configurations. The inlet film temperature – overheated or subcooled inlet fluid flow - also impacts the evaporation process. The influence of the Reynolds number and temperature difference on the heat transfer coefficients of both fluids and for both configurations is also discusse
Multimodal Container Ttransportation Ttraceability and Supply Chain Risk Management: A Review of Methods and Solutions
International audienceContainerization has revolutionized international freight transport. It makes possible to optimize port handling operations and offers multimodality. In addition, the construction of increasingly large container vessels allows economies of scale while smart logistics thanks to the development of the Internet of Things, increase companies’ flexibility and responsiveness. However, international multimodal transportation is subject to random events (risks) and suffers from lack of visibility which severely impacts the entire supply chain. In order to deal with these problems, research has been carried out in the field of supply chain risk management and the literature has been widely populated. This work deals with multimodal container supply chain risk management using traceability and visibility Data. The main objective of this paper is to analyze proposed solutions to improve the supply chains efficiency by acting on risk management in containers transportation, highlighting literature gaps and providing future research directions. Finally, a specific approach for real-time management of shipments by taking into account random events is proposed
Multi-scale homogeneity analysis of co-milled powders : development of a reverse approach to assess quality of mixtures
International audienceThe standard methodology employed for estimating homogeneity of powder mixtures relies on the concept of scale of scrutiny. This parameter defines the relevant scale at which a homogeneous distribution of a given compound is critical regarding the final application of the blend. However, such a scale is not always known in advance. In this paper, a process involving two ceramic powders, co-ground and pressed into pellets is investigated in terms of homogeneity at various scales, from macroscopic to microstructural. According to the scale considered, different methodologies are employed. In particular, a reverse method is developed providing homogeneity indexes that are characterizing the microstructural state, without knowing the scale of scrutiny in advance. The results show that the homogeneity is improved by the co-grinding process as compared to simple drum-mixing experiments, even at a macroscopic scale. This method also shows that the microstructural homogeneity increases according to the grinding time during the first 16 minutes of grinding. The evolution of the microstructural homogeneity according to the grinding time is also investigated

Volumetric Properties of Binary Mixtures of 1,2-Dichloroethane with Ethers from 278.15–333.15 K and at Atmospheric Pressure
International audienceUsing a vibrating tube density meter, the densities and speed of sound of 1,2-dichloroethane, methyl tert-butyl ether, diisopropyl ether, and diethyl ether were measured between T = (278.15 to 333.15) K and at atmospheric pressure. The densities of the three binary mixtures: 1,2-dichloroethane + ethers, were also experimentally determined. The Redlich-Kister data treatment and partial molar volume were applied to the excess molar volume of the mixtures. To conclude, the Prigogine-Flory-Patterson model was used to predict the excess molar volume of the three binary systems and to determine the most significant contribution to the excess molar volume
