Convincing consumers to share personal data: double-edged effect of offering money
International audienceThe purpose of this paper is to demonstrate how offering control on data usage and offering money can increase willingness to share private information with a data broker. Design/methodology/approach Personal data are collected for internet users with a Web questionnaire. In an experimental framework, compensations control money are manipulated and consumers' data sharing is explained by sensitivity and regulatory focus. Findings Offering control increases willingness to disclose personal data, even sensitive one, but the effect is not moderated by regulatory focus. Offering monetary compensation has a negative, but small, effect on willingness to share personal data, and the effect is moderated by regulatory focus

Strategy emergence as wayfinding
International audienceStrategy researchers increasingly recognize that in many organizations strategic coherence can emerge inadvertently from local coping actions and decisions taken “on the hoof”. However, how this actually happens in practice has not been sufficiently examined andexplained. We draw from the “practice turn” in social theory to show howstrategy can emerge through a process of wayfinding involving localadaptive actions taken guided by an internalized habitus or modusoperandi. Small iterative changes made oftentimes at operational levelscan generate positive unintended consequences that ultimately contributetowards the emergence of a coherent and viable strategy. We empiricallyinvestigate the case of a high-end gourmet restaurant in the extremelystructured field of haute cuisine, examining everyday practices, actionsand ongoing improvisations made in relation to the individuals concerned, their professionally socialized selves, the unique set of organizationalcircumstances they face, and the institutional and environmental demandsplaced on them. We show how strategy as a consistent pattern of actionscan emerge from this synergistic interweaving of local coping actions andtheir unintended consequences. We thus contribute to strategy research byproposing a model of strategy emergence as wayfinding that considers theactors’ social embeddedness, their internalized habitus and how thatpredisposes them to respond by itinerantly interweaving seemingly smallcoping actions to unexpectedly produce a coherent strategy
Bivariate FCLT for the Sample Quantile and Measures of Dispersion for Augmented GARCH(p, q) processes
In this note, we build upon the asymptotic theory for GARCH processes, considering the general class of augmented GARCH(p, q) processes. Our contribution is to complement the well-known univariate asymptotics by providing a bivariate functional central limit theorem between the sample quantile and the r-th absolute centred sample moment. This extends existing results in the case of identically and independently distributed random variables. We show that the conditions for the convergence of the estimators in the univariate case suffice even for the joint bivariate asymptotics. We illustrate the general results with various specific examples from the class of augmented GARCH(p, q) processes and show explicitly under which conditions on the moments and parameters of the process the joint asymptotics hold
Information Systems Management: Governance and Urbanization and Alignment
International audienceBy articulating our handbook around the key concepts of actors, territories and projects we propose a renewed approach for analyzing and teaching the management information systems. The handbook shows, through a systemic paradigm, that the question of the actors refer to the governance of information systems, the territories (functional and /or geographical) deserve to be approached through the prism of urbanization, and the projects are the basis of relevant strategies where information systems are aligned with business objectives
