    Portrait of Gulian Lansing, who arrived in Nov 1856, after five years of experience in the Syria Mission. He later married the first single woman assigned to the Egypt field, Sarah B. Dales, who arrived in 1858. Lansing was the author of "Egypt's Princes : Missionary Labor in the Valley of the Nile" (1865). The image is damaged along the lower edge by adhesive tape
