Portrait of Gulian Lansing, who arrived in Nov 1856, after five years of experience in the Syria Mission. He later married the first single woman assigned to the Egypt field, Sarah B. Dales, who arrived in 1858. Lansing was the author of "Egypt's Princes : Missionary Labor in the Valley of the Nile" (1865). The image is damaged along the lower edge by adhesive tape

Portrait of Thomas McCague. He and his wife Henrietta arrived in Cairo from Ohio on 15 Nov 1854. In December, James Barnett joined them, after serving in the Syria Mission. The McCagues served in Egypt until their return to America in 1861. The image is damaged around the edges by adhesive tape
