No full textOluwaseun ''Priscilla'' Taiwo (Class of 2022) was interviewed by Amanda Sun via the Zoom internet-based conferencing software on January 13, 2024. Ms. Taiwo was born in Lagos, Nigeria on July 8, 2002. After attending community college and graduating with an associate degree, Ms. Taiwo transferred to SMU at the height of the Covid pandemic. Aside from Covid lockdown restrictions, Ms. Taiwo describes the difficulties in finding her footing at SMU because of the lack of resources for transfer students. After realizing SMU didn’t provide a Neuroscience major, she chose to major in Biochemistry. Despite the challenges she faced upon transferring, Ms. Taiwo found ways to become involved on campus, including the Student Senate, Spectrum, the Period Project, the Mustang Transfers Organization, and becoming a Lavender Leader and McNair Scholar
