L'évolution du phénomène Boko Haram dans le Bassin du Lac Tchad : une socioanalyse de sa reconfiguration communautaire et sécuritaire en tant qu'organisation terroriste transnationale
No full textThe evolution and transformation of the criminal and Islamist Boko Haram organization into a transnational terrorist movement makes it necessary to consider the jihadist movement under the prism of community and security reconstruction. This consideration makes it possible to understand by what mechanisms Boko Haram is mobilized on a transnational scale in its subversive logic of expansion of ideological terror.L'évolution et la mutation de l'organisation criminelle et islamiste Boko Haram en mouvement terroriste transnational oblige de le considérer sous le prisme d'une reconstruction communautaire et sécuritaire. Cette considération permet de comprendre par quels mécanismes Boko Haram se mobilise à l'échelle transnationale dans sa logique subversive d'expansion de la terreur idéologique. En clair, analysée dans ses dimensions communautaire et sécuritaire, la nébuleuse de promotion du djihad transnational qu'est Boko Haram procède d'une exploitation subversive des contextes socio-culturel, historique, géographique et ethnolinguistique comme dynamique de ses mobilisations foudroyantes et fait ainsi des espaces communautaires transnationaux de la CEDEAO, de la CEMAC et du Sahel, des terrains de son jeu armé et de (re)configuration des rapports de forces avec d'autres groupes terroristes mais aussi des gouvernements étatiques. De plus, l'organisation islamiste est apparue, du fait des liens identitaires, comme un facteur d'amplification du caractère crisogène de ces espaces communautaires transnationaux, en se constituant au fil du temps sur des références symbolique, polémique, anthropologique, et stratégique. Dans sa dynamique stratégique en effet, Boko Haram agit de plus en plus en acteur rationnel porté par une intelligentsia qui organise ses agitations d'envergure transnationale. En fait de mobilisation stratégique davantage, la transnationale terroriste semble agir en acteur militaire et paramilitaire mais également en opérateur économique ; et la reconfiguration communautaire et sécuritaire qu'elle constitue inclut inévitablement une intelligence économique et politico-militaire qui la pousse à fonctionner en tant qu'un acteur illégal et illégaliste

No full textNational audienceNotre enquête concerne la discussion sur l’évolution de la législation française encadrant le droit de la famille, pour laquelle une expertise commanditée en 2013 par le gouvernement Hollande a réuni plusieurs chercheurs en SHS. Le rapport en question construit une histoire de la parentalité pour proposer une réforme de la filiation en traitant des sujets très controversés comme l'accès aux origines, la place familiale des beaux-parents, l’ouverture de la Procréation Médicalement Assistée aux couples de même sexe et la Gestation Pour Autrui 2 .Nos objets d’études concernent plus précisément la construction et la communication d’expertises scientifiques collectives rendues publiques – publicisées. Nous nous interrogeons notamment sur l’esthétique d’une expertise et sa narration par leurs acteurs-auteurs, et plus particulièrement aux représentations qu’ils ont d’eux-mêmes et de leurs expertises, ainsi que celles qu’ils donnent à voir dans les discours publicisés dans la sphère sociale. En regardant d’un même tenant les processus de construction de l'expertise et de sa publicisation, nous vous proposons d’analyser leur démarche de construction d’une identité commune au regard de la diversité des représentations épistémiques des experts (26 chercheurs de disciplines différentes), des représentations de la place de l'expertise en démocratie, et de leurs discours de légitimation. Ainsi, qui signe, quel est "l’auteur" de cette expertise collective, comment prendre en charge la responsabilité du discours, ou quelles sont les figures de l’auteur ? La notion d’auctorialité nous permet ainsi de ne pas nous arrêter à la seule signification de la signature d’un texte, discours qui s’incarne par des acteurs hétérogènes qui publicisent leurs travaux de manière située fonction de leur cosmologie plus ou moins partagée par une communauté

No full textInternational audienceThe feeling of well-being is now considered to be fundamental to the concept of quality of life in the classroom (Florin, Guimard, 2017). Paced breathing (heart coherence, resonant breathing) has been used as a tool to support stress management by health professionals for over twenty years. Paced breathing is a simple and easy to set up breathing practice. We have therefore been interested in its integration in a learning situation in elementary schools in France. From the results of an 8-week research protocol, we have been able to measure the impact of this breathing practice for teachers and students on perceived stress and on classroom climate. Based on the measured effects relating to the relationship to others, we were wondering if the practice of paced breathing in school was appropriate as to support the enhancement of school inclusion in its broadest sense.La notion de bien-être ressenti est aujourd’hui transversale au concept de qualité de vie à l’école (Florin, Guimard, 2017). Utilisée comme outil d’accompagnement de la gestion du stress par les professionnels de santé, depuis plus de 20 ans, la cohérence cardiaque est une pratique respiratoire simple et facile à pratiquer. Nous nous sommes ainsi intéressés à son application en situation d’enseignement-apprentissage, en école élémentaire. À partir d’un protocole de recherche étendu sur 8 semaines, nous avons pu mesurer l’impact d’une telle pratique pour les enseignants et les élèves, sur le stress perçu et le climat de classe. À partir des effets mesurés, touchant à la relation à autrui notamment, nous nous sommes interrogés sur l’opportunité de la pratique de la cohérence cardiaque à l’école, comme soutien au développement de l’inclusion scolaire dans son acception la plus large
Rice cooking and sensory quality
No full textInternational audienceThis chapter provides a state-of-the-art review of the diversity and dynamics of consumer demand with respect to the eating quality of rice worldwide. Quality includes both tangible measurable factors (rice characteristics) and the context of consumption. The main sensory attributes evaluated around the world are described, and their relationship with the diversity of consumer demand is discussed. Instrumental methods for predicting quality measured on either raw or cooked grains are reviewed. The changes that occur in the rice grain during cooking are described along with a modeling approach able to predict the changes and their spatial distribution in the rice grain during cooking. This approach can be used to link consumer demand with cooking conditions and grain quality
Wettability of juvenile plumage as a major cause of mortality threatens endangered Barau's petrel
No full textInternational audienceSeabirds spend most of their life at sea and have to possess a waterproof plumage to beable to sit on water for extended periods. We tracked juvenile Barau’s petrels for thefirst time, when they leave their birth colony and found that half of the transmittersstopped soon after they first landed on the water off Réunion Island. We suspectedfrom observation at sea that birds may have problems with the waterproofness oftheir plumage. Therefore during the next season we set up a simple protocol to assesswaterproofness of the plumage of the birds just before they fledge. This protocol isbased on the calculation of a wettability index expressed as the mass of water loggedin the plumage after simulating the bird sitting on the sea surface. We found thatat least one third of chicks ready to fledge gained more than 4 g of water in 20 s,indicating that plumage was not waterproof. Within a sample of birds having fledgedand before reaching the sea surface, a similar proportion of birds had their plumagenot waterproof. For the birds tracked, only those with an index indicating a waterproofplumage successfully dispersed after their first touch on the sea surface. We provideevidence of a possible major cause of mortality of juvenile seabirds that has not beendescribed previously in wild seabirds, but could exist in other species. This issue maybe a major cause of threat to the endangered Barau’s petrel

Microbial diversity involved in iron and cryptic sulfur cycling in the ferruginous, low-sulfate waters of Lake Pavin
No full textInternational audienceBoth iron-and sulfur-reducing bacteria strongly impact the mineralogy of iron, but their activity has long been thought to be spatially and temporally segregated based on the higher thermodynamic yields of iron over sulfate reduction. However, recent evidence suggests that sulfur cycling can predominate even under ferruginous conditions. In this study, we investigated the potential for bacterial iron and sulfur metabolisms in the iron-rich (1.2 mM dissolved Fe 2+), sulfate-poor (< 20 μM) Lake Pavin which is expected to host large populations of iron-reducing and iron-oxidizing microorganisms influencing the mineralogy of iron precipitates in its permanently anoxic bottom waters and sediments. 16S rRNA gene ampli-con libraries from at and below the oxycline revealed that highly diverse populations of sul-fur/sulfate-reducing (SRB) and sulfur/sulfide-oxidizing bacteria represented up to 10% and 5% of the total recovered sequences in situ, respectively, which together was roughly equivalent to the fraction of putative iron cycling bacteria. In enrichment cultures amended with key iron phases identified in situ (ferric iron phosphate, ferrihydrite) or with soluble iron (Fe 2+), SRB were the most competitive microorganisms, both in the presence and absence of added sulfate. The large fraction of Sulfurospirillum, which are known to reduce thiosul-fate and sulfur but not sulfate, present in all cultures was likely supported by Fe(III)-driven sulfide oxidation. These results support the hypothesis that an active cryptic sulfur cycle interacts with iron cycling in the lake. Analyses of mineral phases showed that ferric phosphate in cultures dominated by SRB was transformed to vivianite with concomitant precipitation of iron sulfides. As colloidal FeS and vivianite have been reported in the monimo-limnion, we suggest that SRB along with iron-reducing bacteria strongly influence iron mineralogy in the water column and sediments of Lake Pavin
