On the full-scale developments have been started around mid-1980s by the opening of KKH and the support of the NGO in the Gojal district, the occupation and the life-style of the inhabitants in the district have changed gradually by the 2000s. The cultivation of the potato as commodity has spread at the almost cultivated land in each village, and the summer pasture of traditional stock raising as transhumance has been decreasing in the district. In addition, the accommodations were located in some villages including the Passu, and the inhabitants who are deeply concerned with tourist industries have increased in the district. However, in 2010, Because of the part of KKH was submerged in the bottom of the dammed lake out of the massive landslide occurred near the Attabad, potato cultivation was hardly performed that came to have difficulty in forwarding, and, the tourist greatly decreased for several years. After the re-opening of KKH, the tourists increased than before, and a change came to be seen in a state of the sight-seeing, therefore, the opportunities about tourist industries for inhabitants have spread. On the other hand, in 2019, not only the sign of the reexpansion of potato cultivation is not seen, but also the cultivation of cereals for self-support are reduced, too. And the fields of those were replaced for grassy places or grass cultivations. In Passu, for instance, opera-tion of the summer pasture in highlands had been discontinued, and the domestic animal having come to be bred exclu-sively at or near the village. In other words, the inhabitants in the district, especially the young group, shifted their occu-pations from agriculture or transhumance with a few incomes to the tourist industry that is easy to get a financial income. The change or depletion of traditional occupation, life-style are accelerated in the Gojal district nowadays.departmental bulletin pape
