Regional Differentiation of ayu Culture Landscape in the Wakayama Plain and Its Factors
In this paper, the writer considered the regional differentiation of the ayu (sweetfish, Plecoglossus altivelis) culture landscape in the Wakayama Plain and its factors. The results are summarized as follows.Until 1972, the ayu culture landscape in the Wakayama Plain was not divided into upstream and downstream regions, unlike during the peak period (1980s-1990s). And its landscape developed in which small, old Tokushima-type aquaculture ponds were located. After the first oil crisis in 1973, the ayu cultivating industry faced declining profits due to soaring pro-duction costs and relative price declines, and a movement to reduce production costs and increase profits by moving toward economies of scale through mass production became apparent.As mass production progressed after 1973, the landscape of ayu culture in the Wakayama plains was divided into three regions. That is the three areas are: the downstream area (Wakayama and Iwade districts), where large-scale aqua-culture farms, including those with a factory-like appearance, are located in suburban agricultural areas that are undergo-ing urbanization; the upstream area (Kazashi district), where small-scale aquaculture farms that retain the characteristics of the time of propagation are located adjacent to orchards; and the upstream area (Koyaguchi and Katsuragi districts), where large-scale greenhouse-type aquaculture farms are located adjacent to paddy fields.The main factors contributing to the regional differentiation of the ayu farming landscape include a marine seed rationing system with rationing based on pond area, drainage regulations that limit the amount of water used, and unfa-vorable water conditions with low groundwater temperatures in winter and spring, which are important for early ship-ment.departmental bulletin pape
Whole-rock Trace Element, Rare Earth Element and Sr, Nd, Pb Isotopic Compositions for Eruptive Products of the Asama Volcano Group, Central Japan.
Magmatic processes of the Asama volcano group are examined based on the whole-rock trace elements, rare earth elements and Sr, Nd and Pb isotopic compositions. The magmatic system of Asama volcano group consists of the Kurofu, Hotokeiwa and Sennin-Maekake magmatic systems. The Kurofu andesitic magmatic system is low in LILE/HFSE ratios (Rb/Y, Rb/Zr, Rb/Ba, Ba/Y and Zr/Y), LREE/HREE ratio (Ce/Yb) and 87Sr/86Sr, 206Pb/204Pb, 207Pb/204Pb and 208Pb/204Pb isotopic ratios, and high in 143Nd/144Nd isotopic ratio, while the Hotokeiwa felsic magmatic system is high in LILE/HFSE, LREE/HREE, 87Sr/86Sr, 206Pb/204Pb, 207Pb/204Pb and 208Pb/204Pb ratios, and low in 143Nd/144Nd ratio. Those of the Sennin-Maekake andesitic magmatic system are intermediate between them. The compositional variation in the Kurofu andesitic magmatic system (the Gippa lava group) is caused by the closed system crystallization differentiation of olivine and clino-pyroxene, however it is difficult to derive the felsic magma of Hotokeiwa magmatic system from the mafic magma of Kurofu magmatic system by the crystallization differentiation; the origin of magmas of the Kurofu and Hotokeiwa mag-matic systems is different. The andesitic magmas of Sennin-Maekake magmatic system are the products of magma mix-ing between the mafic magma of Kurofu magmatic system and the felsic magma of Hotokeiwa magmatic system. The temporal change of magmatic system of the Asama volcano group since 100ka was as follows: the Kurofu andesitic mag-matic system (Gippa lava group: 90 to 80ka), Sennin-Maekake andesitic magmatic system (Kengamine and Mitsuone lava group of Kurofu volcano: 75 to 50ka), Sennin-Maekake andesitic magmatic system (Sennin volcano: 30 to 28ka), the large-scale collapse of volcanic edifices (28ka), Hotokeiwa dacitic to rhyolitic magmatic system (Hanareyama and Hotokeiwa volcanoes: 26 to 13ka) and Sennin-Maekake andesitic magmatic system (Maekake volcano: 9.4ka to present).departmental bulletin pape
A Study of Elementary Chinese Education Japan ― From the Perspective of Topic ―
The purpose of this research is to study the topic of emergence from Chinese elementary teaching materials, and to consider whether there is a change in the topic which appears in the teaching material by the change of the period for about 20 years from around 2000 to the present,and whether or not there is a change in the vocabulary which appeared in the topic by the transition of the time in around. Reconstructing social relationships in a foreign land: A case study of a community of Taiwanese female fans living in Japan
This paper examines the social relationships constructed by female fans through a case study of a community of Taiwanese females living in Japan. Interviews with 8 female participants as primary sources were analyzed. This paper discovered that female fans who love Japanese popular culture living in a foreign land build a unique identity that does not belong to either nationality or ethnicity. Furthermore, through living in a foreign land, female fans reconstruct the social relationships that they expect. Further research will need to investigate the transformation of social relationships constructed by thefemale immigrant communities based on hobbies in the post-Covid-19 era.departmental bulletin pape
