No full text2000 yearbook from Runnels School. Runnels School, founded by Dr. L.K. Runnels, is one of the oldest independent, non-profit, non-sectarian, co-ed schools in Baton Rouge. The school first opened its doors to preschoolers in 1965 in a house off of Highland Road. The school expanded to include elementary aged children in 1970 with the inclusion of several new building sites. The sites included buildings on Lee Drive, Goodwood Blvd., Jefferson Hwy, and South Harrell's Ferry Rd.. The Junior and Senior High Schools were added in 1983. The school has now placed children 2 years of age to pre-k at their Jefferson Hwy location and K through 12 grade at the South Harrell's Ferry location
