Bobblehead figurine of Fred Hutchinson celebrating his 100th birthday, 2019
No full textFrederick Hutchinson (1919–1964) was born and raised in Seattle, and played baseball for Franklin High School and the Seattle Rainiers. He was a major league pitcher for the Detroit Tigers and the manager for three major league teams. Hutchison died of lung cancer in 1964, and his surgeon brother, Dr. William Hutchinson (1909–1997), created the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, in his honor.
